I suppose my hangup here for ZP's side is that unless you refer to larger, discounted premium currency packs (such as the VC packs linked earlier) as 'macrotransactions' then an argument against the colloquial fluidity of the term away from its more literal usage doesn't seem like a very sensible reading

and I certainly don't recall people viewing horse armor in the microtransaction sphere upon release myself
useless and aesthetically bland but that's about it

yeah, I don't agree with that myself, nor do I think most people would mean that when they say mtx colloquially

some games may have more abundant and needlessly fractured cosmetic dlc options (both a symptom of publisher intent and a fake sense of individual 'player choice,' rather than releasing cosmetics in packs)
but I think they are fundamentally different systems that simply share the intention of providing a revenue stream to pubs/devs

something like Rocket League is a good example of the difference I think
they offer permanent purchasable car dlc, and while that roster may still now be continuously expanded upon and released for minimal charges each, that can and likely will one day stop being the case
however, at that point you will still presumably be able to play, receive crates, and have to purchase keys to unlock them, it's a mtx system that continually exists for a game's lifetime so long as the devs allow it to

if you can repurchase and it has consumability then it is microtransaction, whether that be currency, lootbox, or temporary boost

I feel for you, tc
I am very close with my family but, despite being maybe 20 mins from both parents and even closer to one sister, I see them very rarely (maybe once every couple months)
I know that probably disappoints them in their own way because my mother especially literally always wants me to visit and they see my sisters multiple times each week by comparison

but they have also respected my job, relationships, and generally more quiet, relaxed sense of passing my free time and don't hound me about coming around unless I have let it go way too long for them
can't imagine I would be able to handle so much of someone else's family
