I think everyone is into actual politics, the business of how to run the society we live in. To say you're not is like saying you're not into getting a meal every day; politics is a self-interest.

That's not what modern day politics is about though. Nothing Congress does ever helps anyone but corporations. Why would most people be interested in any of that if it has no bearing whatsoever on their lives?

They have absolutely nothing to offer me. You can't do anything fun or interesting whatsoever with a child, they are extremely annoying, and they require great effort to maintain.

It actually makes perfect sense when you think about it from an evolutionary standpoint. People who stuck together had a better chance of surviving long enough to pass on their genes. Tribes and tribalism is hard coded into our DNA.

Almost every country in history is xenophobic. No matter how far you zoom in or out on a map, you'll find groups of people at odds with eachother. Ethnicity, nationality, regions, streets, family feuds. Feuds within families. It worked to our advantage when we were back in the jungles, but it's the biggest obstacle we need to overcome today if we wanna survive, much less evolve to the next step.
