I have trouble even talking to adults. I come off as more social than I am, online. Offline I am super quiet

Anyway I dont know how to speak with small children. I have a 12 year old niece and 14 year old nephew

When they were younger I had no idea what to say to them. Only recently I am starting to feel more comfortable around them.

Children can be annoying AF and are expensive. With that said, I love my baby girl!

I don't understand people who like kids, especially babies.

For me I might accidently hurt them since I don't pay attention to where I swing my arms sometimes. I already elbowed one of my kid cousins in the face one time

Kids are great. Love seeing how the new generations are growing up and what they're getting into. It's interesting. They've got such a fresh perspective on stuff we take for granted.

I mean they get into a lot of dumb shit too but hey >_>

It's dumb to generalize this or that like "I like kids" and "I hate kids". Everyone is different.

A lot of kids are awful, but a lot of people in general are awful. Not like there's an age where you suddenly stop being awful; it depends on the person. Babies and toddlers are pretty much all adorable, but at some point, when they consciously start to misbehave, kids start becoming bad. I know that's all part of growing up, though, and I wouldn't say I dislike kids just because a lot misbehave. Again, it just depends on the kid.

But I'll say that I started to think "I hate kids" when I was 15. I was something of an awkward teen, and the elementary schoolers in my neighborhood were picking on me, throwing rocks at me and calling me slurs. I remember telling myself, "They're just elementary schoolers" and trying not to get upset, but then it just hit me one moment and I was like

And I was ready to fight them. My religious neighbor stopped me, though. Of course, I was still a "kid" back then, and it would have been wrong of me to fight kids who were younger than me, but honestly, those elementary schoolers were fucking terrible. Kids like that, bullies, I very much dislike.

They have absolutely nothing to offer me. You can't do anything fun or interesting whatsoever with a child, they are extremely annoying, and they require great effort to maintain.

I love my kids. They are great. We go to metro parks, up north, cedar point, plane trips and its always fun.

The baby is too wittle for most of that stuff, but in a few years he will be ready to rock.

My daughter is super into anime like me, so we can talk about stuff we watch and collect together.

If a grown ass man eats your fries, you can just punch him. If a child eats your fries, you can't punch him. People will cancel you on Twitter.

People see a small glimpse of life with children in an environment that is typically stressful for them and bringing out their worst behavior. Then assume thats the norm all the time. Like theyll see a toddler throwing a tantrum at Walmart and think thats how all kids are all the time.

My 16 month old occasionally throws tantrums when were out and its easy to assume thats how she always is. But at home she is sweet, cuddly, funny, inquisitive, and yes throws a tantrum here and there that we have to be patient with. Theyre little humans with big feelings and emotions they arent yet equipped to process. But those last a few minutes here and there while shes otherwise fun and playful.

Years of working in the retail and service industries have completely chipped away at my patience. Thats part of the reason why Im in no hurry to get in a relationship anymore either tbh.

I always felt that way with other peoples kids. But theres something about seeing your own discover the world that is fascinating. You get to experience life again through their eyes. Every little milestone is exciting in its own way. Things you take for granted every day are interesting again. But then other kids bore me. Its weird.
