Yeat's Grave
Zombie - Such a great track. It's a good song, it's a catchy song, and it stands out.
Ode to My Family
Ridiculous Thoughts
I Can't Be With You
Daffodil Lament
Disappointment
Dreaming My Dream
The Icicle Melts
Twenty One
Empty
Everything I Said
No Need to Argue

After my top three songs, I'd say most of the album is "okay" for. They were a good band that seemed to make the music that they set out to make, I enjoy some of it quite a bit, and respect the rest of it. I don't have a ton of confidence in my middle rankings, but I was happy to listen to Yeat's Grave a bunch this week :)

I hated that episode.

My anxiety is through the roof. So much tension, so much what's going to happen, how bad can this get, why is this so barren of color and sound, why is it so normal and anywhere USA? My stress at work is going to be through the roof.

It was a great episode. But it's scary. Which might be the point.

Maybe it was the epilogue for the series!

Torna is the prequel to XBC2 and really only ties into XBC2. It's a very good prequel.

Future Connected is mostly just a sidequest to XBC1. I think it's good content but I can't see it being meaningful to XBC3 unless the Ponspectors are involved!!!

Any idea how closely this ties in with XC2? I doubt I'll ever play that one.

Some of the people have cat ears, some of the characters are "blades" which are controlled by possessing their core crystal, and everyone lives on titans (roughly the size of large XBC1 areas).

XBC1 and XBC2 spoilers:
Klaus using the conduit on the orbital station effectively creates a new world (XBC1). Half of him becomes Zanza. The other half, The Architect, (his good side) remains on the orbital station and uses the conduit to create the titans and help revive humankind. When Shulk kills Zanza, it also kills The Architect. When Klaus is dead, the conduit supposedly moves on to a new dimension. XBC2 ends with the titans all merging together to form a new land. Mythra/Pyra and Malos are roughly the same thing as Alvis.

There's way more to XBC2 but I think that'll be the content that matters to XBC3 but honestly I am going in with very little knowledge. Knowing how XBC1 and 2 are connected will likely be important in 3.

But honestly I'm going in mostly blind - I've read about the combat system and I've seen the cover art. I watched the original trailer once.

I'm thinking that the teams with the best offers won't pull the trigger for another month (or longer). They want the Nets to be facing training camp.

I think Jaylen Brown would probably be OK to leave in free agency, depending on what other teams are out there. He has always wanted to establish his own identity and it's not really happening in Boston for a few reasons.

I watched the first season and a half (or so) and kinda gave up on the show. I think it's a good show but there's so much churn. And I also just felt like, jeeze if all these people die or suffer, I don't care all that much? And because of the churn, it felt like all their plans were constantly unraveling such that I didn't think they would have the money they needed at the end of S1, and they have it. It was like, they wanted me to feel the dread of the Byrdes not having the money, and then magically they do have the money so they can deal with the next set of problems.

Yawn. Yet another woman overthrows patriarchy story. Cant wait for this 2010s woke fad to die down a bit in Hollywood. Theyre important stories to tell for a certain demographic but theres a good way to do it and theres a redundant crappy way to approach it. Based off how hard this trailer hit me over the head with the I am woman hear me roar theme I doubt this will be done well or in an original light.

I am highly skeptical they recapture the greatness of Danys rise or get anything close to it.

Thor was fun. I think it will be fun to watch again. I think it suffered from a bit of diminishing returns. I think the movie wasn't truly thoughtful about Gorr's point about the gods being awful, but I am guessing that point may be touched upon in the next Thor movie. I liked Thor and Jane well enough I guess? I do wish King Valkyrie had a little more meat to her. Thor is better with a proper foil - Valk in Ragnarok, Hulk, Loki, etc. Thor as a sympathetic character is fine but Valk didn't play well off of it and just seemed to be humor/objective oriented and then bowed out. Like she's essentially on Thor's side because she's on Jane's side.

It's been a while since I listened to Avenged Sevenfold. City of Evil got them attention, they cashed in on it with this album (self-titled), and then Nightmare was a truly emotional album mourning their late drummer. After Nightmare, I don't think I've really kept up with them at all. I think they're a good band and I tend to enjoy what I hear from them.

Gotta go with the chickens. Even if I were well trained and felt I had a decent chance at killing the orangutan, one screwup and it's over. And when I get older, it'll be harder and harder. I'd be doomed to die by having an ape chew my hands and face off until I bleed out.

Chickens weigh 6 pounds and their necks aren't hard to strangle or break. And if you get a hold of one, you can just hold it upside down. It will rapidly be overtaken by tonic immobility - an upside chicken is as good as dead and 'calms down' quickly. And if it's a death match, you win - the upside down chicken will die because they have no diaphragm.

I think you folks are overestimating the chicken encounter!

"A beautiful name for a really hideous drug."

Angel Dust is my favorite band's best album, and it's also influential and successful. The band has described it as five musicians pulling in separate directions and the result is sort of a spiderweb forming. I got this album on release day and played the living crap out of it - of all the albums that came out that year, this ended up sticking out the most for me.

At times, it's not easy to get into. There are a couple of singles, and a couple of album cuts that are easy to listen to, but other songs feel more experimental and schizophrenic. The album can be subversive. Patton's vocal talents are on display but I think almost every other FNM shows off his skills better, but by far his role as a bandmember is done best on this album. There's a give-and-take that was untenable for the band.

I guess for me, when I can sit around and think my thoughts, the vibe is very much the vibe of this album.
Everything's Ruined
At times, I've thought of this as my favorite song. We start off with a bit of trepidation in the keyboard, and then the bass kicks in the rest of the song, a cascade of sound, the song is soaring for a bit. And then we get to the vocals "We were so happy". I think everyone in the band shines. To me, it's a bit about being treated like an asset, about greed, about leverage.

j***lobber
Guilt and fear... a song about being afraid of going to jail. There's also a heavy undertone of sexual frustration. I guess this has always felt like feeling guilty about self-pleasure. The way the song builds to the "I hide the dirty minutes under my dirty mattress..." part has always been awesome for me.

Midlife Crisis - The best thing about this song is how they play it live - at the end of the bridge, when the song builds up to the final choruses, the band will stop. The crowd will sing the chorus. The band will then break into a different song, usually a cover song. Like Pokerface, or some motown hits, whatever. As that song ends they whip right back into the end of Midlife Crisis.

Caffeine
Land of Sunshine - The album opens up with two songs that aren't really based on specific concepts. Just Patton people watching and coming up with some lyrics.

Kindergarten - Man this song had a bit of nostalgia for the time. And now it's crazy - "film is flapping on the side of the projector" when is the last time they did that?

Crack Hitler - Action adventure song

A Small Victory - A soothing catchy single for the most part, but certain ends in a bit of a different fashion. It's like the band had an easy little single that wouldn't get much play and decided to almost sabotage it, which to me makes it better, but, yeah.

Malpractice
RV
Smaller and Smaller - I like the song but I think maybe with Caffeine and Malpractice on the album, it doesn't stand out.
Be Aggressive - The keyboardist (Roddy Bottum) is gay and wrote this song so Patton would have to sing about giving blow jobs. So of course they played this live all the time in front of hostile early 90s metal crowds.

Midnight Cowboy
Such a swaying, melancholy cover to close out the album. I listened to this album so much as a teenager that I often felt if I could pick one song to listen to when I die, it would be this one, because it would really just signify the end of something good.

Easy
A great cover of a great song.
