I think Lucas had better editors and scriptwriters. I believe Spielberg helped out with ROTS which is why its more focused than TPM and AOTC.

and Id say parts of AOTC is worth it. Just the romance scenes were bad. For the time, the last arena battle was pretty awesome seeing that many Jedi onscreen.

ROTS is just good. Anakin feels like the Anakin that Obi-Wan about in the OT. And theres that sense of tension in the movie that the others dont have.

Yeah, I like eps 1 and 2. They have big flaws (1 has tonal whiplash between the political stuff and the juvenile stuff, 2 has too much of the bad romance dialogue and C3PO on Geonosis) but not enough to ruin them. ROTS goes beyond just being better than 1 and 2, into legitimate Star Wars greatness

It is significantly better than the other prequels, but that doesn't mean a thing because they are abominations.

It doesn't reach anywhere near the quality of 4, 5 or the better parts of 6. It's better than the worst parts of 6, but once again, that doesn't mean anything.

It's the best of the prequel trilogy but that's like claiming something's good because it doesn't make you lose as many limbs as standing on a landmine.

I don't get it. It's so much better than the other prequels. Fewer corny parts that go down easier. The good stuff is better. The tragic tone is right in line with where the OT eventually goes. The hyperbole about this being Ed Wood shit is too much. It's no more childish or whatever than the OT. It's pretty seamless

Luckily they more or less put all the vital prequel stuff in ROTS. You can watch just that as prologue to the OT and pretty much get the whole set up. It helps to know what happens in TPM and AOTC but they're skippable

People were right to complain when it came out. Its the entire subplot thats pointless. They go to find a codebreaker to help disable Snokes tracker. Except they get betrayed and captured, so their entire adventure was worthless.

The only real plot development is that Finn and Rose move from the Resistance ship to Snokes ship. You could argue the whole sequence was to build up Roses backstory, which is a bad argument, but its the only real defense for the subplot for being in the film.

If it was removed, it would make no difference narratively and the movie wouldve been better for it.

The last scene explicitly links what Rose and Finn did on Canto Bight with what Luke did on Crait in continuing the Resistance.

Leia: "We have everything we need."

Cut to: force sensitive stable boy who helped start the stampede wearing Rose's Resistance ring dreaming of Luke Skywalker

This is super obvious stuff to be honest
