For the record the modern flat earth movement is indeed based on Biblical literalism. The Bible doesn't say the earth is flat but it contains passages that could be construed as indicating a flat earth(anyone can google the passages, I'm not trying to defend these interpretations). The 19th century pamphlet Zetetic Astronomy: Earth not a Globe is their book of pseudoscience which all prominent flat earthers memorize and regurgitate ad nauseam. The dude who wrote that was motivated to prove a literalist interpretation of the Bible. He formed the Zetetic Society which evolved into the modern Flat Earth Society. Usually they claim the coverup is to hide God and the firmament. Why? Who the fuck knows. They don't even know. They also claim NASA is the Hebrew word Na-sha meaning "to deceive".

I like training videos for software like Adobe products, but for programming it doesn't make much sense to me. I'd rather read a book or tutorials and go at my own pace.

There was a documentary on FOX in the 90's or early 2000's, I think it was just called Conspiracy Theory, about the moon landing hoax. I'll admit I was ready to believe the hoax after watching that, but then I searched the internet and found that all the claims in the documentary were easily debunked bullshit. The type of people who believe that also believe the Earth is flat and NASA is hiding God in the firmament.

I think that's a word that has lost all meaning if it ever had any. I would never call myself woke. It's mainly used as a pejorative now anyway.

Aron Ra is cool and all, but he's not a fan of philosophy at all. He's more of a science communicator and debunker of creationist claims. I was going to recommend Rationality Rules, but it's still mainly an atheist channel which I doubt is what TC is looking for.

The first Guild Wars has amazing holiday events. Major towns change their appearance with seasonal/holiday decorations and new npc's, quests/missions, zones, games, special items, etc.

I'm pretty sure the hacking in that movie was more authentic than in most other Hollywood movies that have hacking. Like it showed actual common hacking tools/commands in action.

I mean, why are you buying flash drives in the first place? They have basically zero purpose anymore except if you need a drive to install linux with.

My computer doesn't have an optical drive so flash drive is the only option to reinstall any OS or to quickly transfer files between computers or simply to backup files.

Been looking forward to it for a long time. I don't expect it to be as good as the first few seasons of GoT, but then I don't expect any show to be that good. That was some of the best TV ever.

But both words have multiple common meanings. Atheism is disbelief in a god or god, or lack of belief. True enough, but besides some randos on the internet which atheists are doing that? I don't think there is any philosophical source or atheist philosopher past or present that describe atheism that way. It seems more like anti-theism to me.

Obviously there's no rape depicted in that scene, but that kiss was quite clearly not consensual, and at the end of the scene it is implied that he's going to blackmail her into fucking him or else lose her job. Unless there's some context missing in that scene this seems to be a clear case of Bond forcing himself on a woman in one of the older movies.

I like it, but every time I play it I end up running the exact same stealth build with pistols and rifles. No other way to approach the game seems fun to me.

I always liked APC way more than Tool. Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step are great albums front to back. For me Tool's good songs are few and far between, but they are really good.

I remember a story years ago from Albuquerque where police were confronting a homeless man sleeping out in the middle of nowhere. They hit him with a flashbang and then shot him in the back and killed him. It was all on video and there was literally no cause for using any kind of force as the man was 100% compliant. I guess they're still up to their old tricks there in Albuquerque.

Came in to say Morrowind. It's my favorite in the series, and with MGE-XE and Better Bodies installed it looks just fine, but I understand the combat system is extremely off-putting to people who never got into the game originally. Yet at the same time I think the whole dice roll system lends itself to a great sense of character progression that is totally lacking in Oblivion and Skyrim.
