The Riddler Trophies in Asylum were actually fun to collect. Arleen Sorkin, Harley Quinn's original voice actor from Batman: TAS voices her in Asylum. Asylum also seemed to borrow a lot of details of what I think of as "comic book" Batman. By this, I mean the Batsuit didn't look gritty and the boots/gloves weren't ugly like they were in City. Lastly, Asylum's vibe was superior because the setting and story actually made you feel sort of endangered and trapped, despite being Batman with all his gadgets. Minor detail, but I'm pretty sure Batman's character model in Asylum grows some stubble throughout the course of the game as his Batsuit gets damaged. They didn't have that in City...

Worse: Arizona (but I don't think it's a "bad" state. I just named this one because I've been there and I also know this state's association with potential racial profiling issues, attempting banning of ethnic studies, and the Sheriff Arpaio.)

Yeah, think of it this way, what he did on certain platforms was bad enough for Apple, Facebook, and Spotify, but he didn't do the same things on Twitter, which is why he still has a platform there. Plus, it's not like you're breaking the law by listening to what he has to say. Hence, there is no censorship.

TopicHow do vegans justify being pro-choice?
jramirez23
08/08/18 8:31:41 PM

Well, if you are a vegan who supports abortion, then I imagine your thought process is that egg farming is inhumane because it causes pain to the chicken. You would probably also believe that fetuses are not sentient and do not feel pain.

Do you see how their reasoning is now? I bet that most pro-choice vegans refuse to eat eggs not because they do not want to destroy potential life, but rather because they do not like the farming practices used to acquire eggs. Sure, you might ask "What about free-range eggs, or foraging for wild eggs?" but that goes beyond what is being discussed in this thread.

Most plans don't let you roll minutes over month to month, including my current plan. Hardly a caveat...

But the thing is that if it's a pay-as-you-go phone, you might think you are entitled to keep all the minutes you bought. It's not like you have the phone as part of a contract plan.

Make me two parts of 10 such that each part multiplied by itself, and the one multiplication taken from the other leaves 49. I ask what are the parts.

I ended up writing
x + y = 10
x^2 + xy + y^2 = 49.

That's not the right interpretation though. Apparently the correct approach is this:

x + y = 10
x^2 - y^2 = 49

Hint: "taken from the other" means subtraction somehow.

Does it make sense, or do you find these word problems to be tricky too?

Pro-life. People shouldn't be able to get away with murder and people who are pro choice should be thankfully their parents weren't.

But imagine if everyone thought like that. Sometimes you have to take positions that might have worked against your better being for the good of society. Just as a little analogy, I am not fond of murderers at all, but I wouldn't want society to apply the death penalty on them, even if it supposedly serves as a deterrent.

I genuinely think that learning to read and speak Spanish is super easy. Sure, listening comprehension and picking up new vocab might be difficult, but the other components never felt difficult as long as you practice. The pronunciation is always consistent. Even the accents are easy because they also follow pretty consistent rules. Then, anecdotally, so many different kinds of people in the USA who aren't native speakers of Spanish can get such a good grasp of it that it surprises me. I don't know if I'd be able to do the same thing with their own native language.

Yes! This is something that I thought recently about the ending of MGS 2. One side tends to think of it as the dangers of political correctness gone amok and society having contradictory cultural values, and the other thinks of how dangerous it is to allow just the "strong" interest groups to propagate their cultural values to society at large.
