We shopped there maybe once a year, when looking for some specific cookware. The one near us had a decent selection of picture frames and bedding sets and stuff.

There was also a big section of stuff that gave me a as seen on tv vibe that was never worth getting, maybe they leaned a bit too hard into that stuff too.

Was Lightyear really 2022? It feels like it was a year or two older than that.

But also, selling subscriptions to facilitate piracy? Yeah, no duh you're gonna get sued by the big guys.

Fortunately there are hundreds of options out there for users, so this won't slow them down.

car dealers are an outdated structure, assume everything they are trying to do is to rip you off as much as possible. Assuming you dont immediately need a car today, just buy it online through one of those online venders.

I have a gut, but not due to alcohol, just due to poor diet and laziness. I've started exercising again and eating better, lost a few pounds but still got like 10-15 to go.

Crank 2 surprised me for being about as decent as the first one was. I was fully prepared for a shitty cash-grab sequel or something lame, but it was actually pretty fun.

Meh, its just a job for them, I wouldn't expect much. Let them take your blood and then leave them alone.

Ive seen several trailers in j various streaming sites, it seems like theyre pushing it pretty strongly online.

My dad has keys to the church that he lives next to, and hes a bit of a night owl so sometimes he would go over in the night and play the pipe organ for a few hours.

He can play piano/harpsichord well enough though he usually uses sheet music there, rather than memorizing the songs, so he wasnt like a professional organist or anything, but even as an amateur he was still pretty good.

I can remember a few times being able to faintly hear him playing while falling asleep in my bed. Most people might find it spooky to hear an organ playing in the night but I always found it comforting, knowing it was just my dad over there rocking out.

It certainly wasn't as good, but it was still fun. Solid performances all around. It definitely feels like it was impacted by the pandemic, limiting it from being as fully developed as Knives Out.

Id recommend taking the deal. Money-wise it sounds pretty nice, but more importantly, its an opportunity for you to learn how to live on your own and be content with being by yourself.

Remember that you should still have access to your friends and family when you feel you need some socialization time but it is important for you to be able to be happy when youre alone too. Give it a try!

I enjoyed it but it does only take about and hour and a half to beat, iirc. I think they kind of wanted you to play through it repeatedly looking for collectibles or something, but I didnt really feel a strong desire to do so.

She was never consistently Democrat, she was a failure almost immediately after we elected her. She and Manchin were both mistakes, actively thwarting the party they claimed.

I assume Sinema thinks this will somehow pull more Rep voters to support her, but she also does not have enough Dem support to get her elected as an Independent in AZ. Good riddance to her.

My wife caught it back in July, she was 3 shots vaxxed too so her symptoms were extremely mild (she didnt even suspect she had it, her weekly test just came up positive that week.)

She did end up losing her sense of smell, even months later it hasnt returned to full strength, but it is improving.

If you want to buy a new car then do it. Sure, financially it isnt the ideal choice, but thats not really what youre considering here.

If youve got the savings set aside to buy it flat out, then do that so youre not getting stung on financing. But if youve got to finance it, then cover as much as you can with the down payment and finance the rest. Maybe find one of those 0% financing deals (they just adjust the purchase price to negate the interest amount over the life of the loan, but it works out the same way.)

Buy something reliable that you will want to drive for awhile and you should be fine.

My wife was a bride's maid in a gay wedding several years ago. It was pretty similar to a hetero wedding, plenty of fun.

I enjoyed it, felt like a decent Dr Strange film, though Wanda's motives were pretty stupid, but that's not terribly surprising. She isn't a particularly rational character in the MCU.

I would have liked to see more America Chavez star-punching and ass-kicking, maybe that'll come in a later movie/show.

Our last kid was born about 4 months into the pandemic, we hadnt even been telling people about the pregnancy when we all went into lockdown life. Plenty of our extended family (cousins/aunts and uncles) didnt even know we had a kid for almost two years after he was born.

I thought he did a great job as Superman. Hes a little hard to buy as Clark Kent but that disguise was always pretty flimsy anyway so its fine.

I follow a few streamers pretty actively, with smaller viewer counts (like sub-20 most streams) and I enjoy chatting with them about the game, or playing with them sometimes too

The picky file name thing for shows is a bit of a hassle but its really the only reasonable way they can work with it, so you just have to do it. Theres a utility called FileBot that is helpful for renaming with the right episode titles, I found it worked well for about 99% of my shows, you just have to make sure youre diligent about using the right season/episode number when you save the ripped files.

I know Im a bit late to respond about the NAS drive but I also used a pair of western digital Reds for my media server. A year and a half in with daily use and they seem to be holding up well.

My dvd files are much smaller than that, like half a gig for just the video. The blu rays, converted down to a 1080p format, are around 1.7 to 2gigs, depending on the movie length.

Remember that dvds were only 480p, which is pretty low fidelity for streaming to a tv/monitor but is not too bad for streaming to a phone screen.

If youre ripping and organizing all the additional content from the discs (like bonus features, and behind the scenes, etc) then it will take up more space but dvds arent nearly as much space as Blu-rays.

For Blu-rays I used Handbreak to convert the raw ripped files down to that sub-2gb size, to keep it manageable. Unless youve got a 4k/uhd tv that youre going to stream to, you reallly dont need those full 30gb+ video files.

My wife and I hit 12 years of marriage last weekend (almost 19 years since we started dating.) Three kids, oldest is 8yo, youngest is 2yo.

Weve been together for the majority of our lives (Im 36 and shes 35) but we were very fortunate to find each other as young as we did. We actually first met pre-9/11 but didnt start dating until a couple years later.

As a follow up, not sure why folks here are saying its illegal. Ripping/backing up your own discs is absolutely not illegal.

A lot of people also put a ton of pirated content on their media servers, but thats a totally separate thing that they choose to do. Ripping your own dvds and Blu-rays is just fine.

I made one about a year into the pandemic and its been great. It really wasnt hard to setup, and as you mentioned, ripping the dvds and Blu-rays was the most time consuming part.

i think when all was said and done I had ripped about 300 discs, and now Ive got those discs all stored out in a rubbermade bucket in the shed, freeing up a ton of space in the house. I whole heartedly endorse Plex, its a great tool.

Every year or so they do a deal on the Plex pass making it half off, so keep an eye out for that (they just did it a couple weeks ago, so you e got to wait awhile probably.)

Lol again? First they get back together because Travis almost died, and now because Mark has cancer?

Pretty sure Mark's been cancer free for months, he did all his treatments awhile ago. I think Tom did reconnect with Mark and Travis during that time though, but I don't think the band was in anyone's minds during that time.

I liked Matt's time with the band, I think he was a great fill-in for Tom. We'll see how Tom does when he's back in.

The more individual types of awards they give out the more competition they create between actors/actresses.

Awards shows were originally created by the big producers/studios to generate competition between actors so that they wouldnt effectively unionize and demand better conditions/pay.

Now, there are acting unions but they are not all powerful within that industry. Awards shows were part of reducing that efficacy.
