In Alberta, teens in the mid to late 2000s generally used a sketchier site called Nexopia. A 12 year old girl met a dude in his 20s who thought he was a vampire on there in like 2005, and he helped her massacre her parents and little brother. Didn't even dent the popularity of the site.

The Pokemon Company and Gamefreak know that they can pump out any bullshit they want, and it'll sell pretty much equally as well as if they spent genuine time and effort on it.

Okay, the intro cutscene was long. I haven't played through this in probably close to 18 or 19 years.

My one complaint with the game was that, while you can make choices, it doesn't actually affect the end of the story.

I know what you mean, but personally I think it helps drive home the point that Henry's attempt to escape his problems is futile. He has tough choices to make in his actual life, the exciting escapist summer he's created for himself is nothing but a temporary distraction. Also why in a way it's nice that we never get satisfying closure with Delilah. Henry and Delilah both have to come to terms with their own problems.

I'm 28 and I'm noticeably worse at video games than I used to be. It's not as big of a hobby for me as it was 10-15 years ago.

I don't feel old though. GameFAQs is my only gaming community, and I'm probably in the younger half of users. What does sometimes boggle my mind is that, like 12 years ago, almost everyone on this site was a teenager (like I was), but now we're mostly in our late 20s or 30s.

I guess I'd call it a mystery choose your own adventure? Most of the gameplay is just walking, but the story and the choices you make to affect that story are what made it so great.

I won't spoil it, but wow, the story really grabbed my attention from start to finish. I've never played a game like that before.

The story has highs and lows, but even the lows serve an important purpose. That's a game I'll think about for a long time.

I never played that game, but it's visual style is something I've advocated for across many series (Pokemon and 2D Mario in particular) for over a decade. Sprite based, yet very modern looking with lighting, water effects, etc. It's a really awesome juxtaposition.

I would cream my pants if they someday went back to using sprites instead of models. Really had more of a "pocket monster" feel to it because the sprites were the same size, and even smaller Mons looked more menacing than ever.

Given the shit visual quality of their games recently, it would be an improvement. I chose not to get Sw/Sh because I don't support the low effort they're putting in. Not that my choice did anything, Sw/Sh are among the highest selling Switch games.
