My local candidate for the party I supported was corrupt, so I wouldn't vote for him. So I just didn't go vote. Side note, in every election I've voted in, the local candidate I've voted for has never won. The party I've voted for has won a couple times, but never my local candidate. There isn't much incentive for English speakers to learn another language. For non-English speakers, the incentive is to gain access to literally 99% of all the cool shit in media, whether it's TV, movies, video games, or the internet. Almost every person that I know that learned English as a second language did so through exposure. I know a South Korean guy that claimed he learned English as a kid mostly by watching the Pokemon anime. Almost nobody I know in person knows that I do. How would your employer ever find out unless you told them? Secondly, my infrequent cigar smoking will almost certainly have no impact on my health (knock on wood). Meanwhile, their policy hasn't excluded employing people that are overweight, which has a MUCH more serious impact on health than enjoying a stogie a few times per month.
