I found both Micah and Gary super annoying (Gary moreso), and in both those games it was frustrating that the protag keeps working with those guys even after it becomes obvious that they are fucking you over.

As far as straight villainy goes, I give it to Tenpenny. That guy was into some horrible shit, and there's not much question as to why CJ has to keep working for him.

debt collecting missions make Arthur a straight up dick. Like the one with the woman and her son. It was the husband who owed the debt, but he died of illness so the debt fell to her and when Arthur shakes them down, the son gives him the stinkeye (understandable) and Arthur tells him (paraphrased) "you best show respect boah or your mama will be mourning a second family member" Like slow down, man.

Honestly I loved the way that whole arc played out. At the beginning of the game Arthur is a dick. He does those missions because he doesn't care about those people, he just cares about the money. He gets tuberculosis because of the specific one you mentioned and it makes him question his whole life. It's one of the reasons he changes and seeks redemption. I don't know if you've finished that whole quest line yet, but he does try to make it up to the wife and son and it's a really well done bit of story.

I also thought it was interesting that it turned out the Pinkertons picked up Strauss and he didn't say a word. He died in custody, never gave anyone up even after what Arthur did to him.

Reading the full article, though, it makes sense. They're not waiting for a literal response to give the go ahead to change the diaper, they're wanting children to be raised from the start knowing that how they feel should be respected and to speak up when/if the time *does* come. There's a lot of child sexual abuse towards children who don't say anything, whether it's from fear of being in trouble, or they view it as normal because it's from someone they know so when they don't like it, they don't say anything.

Shut up we don't read articles here

While the practice is uncommon in America, a number of recent cases were discovered in Hawaii, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and New York. Many of these dogs and cats were taken from shelters, some found as strays, others were stolen pets from families. While the ban on dog and cat meat consumption only applies to the practice within the United States, it will also serve to strengthen the position of activists fighting against the dog and cat meat trade around the world.

Not widespread, but also not the only goal here

Do they check the car for drugs before selling it? If not, sounds pretty risky if you ever go through a checkpoint with dogs.

That's the other thing, how do I know some drug-dealer's car isn't full of crack?

Presumably they would have searched the vehicle when it was seized, since evidence is pretty important for trials and also they don't want the liability of selling drugs to people

I loved Witcher 3 and its world but when it comes down to it there is almost nothing to do in any city or village. You have the bulletin board, a shop, a blacksmith, and that's it. Once you've cleared the board of the 1 or 2 hunts in each location there's little reason to spend time in any place that is not directly related to the main quest. And there's basically nothing for Geralt to do recreationally, like minigames and stuff.

it's a witcher game.. he's supposed to hunt monsters, solve local mysteries and help buddies in need for money/items/favors/general progress.

gwent is the recreational stuff along with fist fighting and horse riding...

The specific criticism was that open worlds tend to lack depth, and Witcher 3 is not an exception. Every town in the game may as well be a diorama with how little actual interaction there is. It's honestly one of the few complaints I have about that game. But you're right, I forgot about Gwent, mostly because I didn't like it and thus didn't play it much at all.

Shotgunnova posted...
The problem is the auto-aiming is what makes it possible to actually do anything. Manually aiming is equally mediocre due to sluggishness. You'd think they would've improved on the RDR formula in eight years, but naw.

To each his own I suppose, but I don't find it sluggish. Honestly I think they more or less perfected their third person shooting in Max Payne 3 and every game after that has felt similar controlwise.

This is every open world game, I've yet to see a single one that doesn't "break the illusion" easily. Doesn't make them not good, it's just a limitation of video games.

witcher 3?

most locations placed in the game serve a purpose.

the only real immersion-breaking filler are the hundreds of minor treasure chests or nests scattered everywhere but they do fit the theme of the world and they're mostly one and done instead of random stuff to artificially extend the longevity like repeated randomized events in other games(skyrim).

You're not gonna get a Lil Bandit from the police auction. Mostly what you'll find is the types of shitty cars that people don't mind losing, because they know if they get arrested doing some serious shit then their vehicle will be seized.

That said, my and my sister's first cars were both auction vehicles. Hers was a Chevette, mine was a 86 Honda Accord (which I got in 2000, lol)

Even RDR2 is terrible with its auto-aiming crutch.

Turn it off. I recommend this to everyone on every post-San Andreas R* game. There's no reason to leave auto aim on. Every R* game that allows you to turn off auto aim immediately becomes a lot better as a result
