Ryoma's death hit really, really hard for me because I really liked him, and because I thought he was being set up to make it to the end.

The case 1 twist is wild, and one of the most iconic (and controversial) plot points in the series. I know a few people who flat-out hate V3 because of the "Bait and switch" with Kaede.

I personally take some pride in figuring out the Kaede twist early and having her as my top suspect going into the trial. When she said "I put everything I was holding into my bag", I was like "Er, weren't you still holding the shotput ball? Did you put that in there too?" Then it showed back up as the murder weapon and it clicked really quickly.

V3 is a super fun ride, hope you enjoy it.

I expect that to drop to 1 soon enough, though, if I'm being blunt.

My grandma on my dad's side is in miserable shape. She has a lot of various health issues, and her memory is totally shot, to the point where she doesn't know who half of the members of her family are. Her husband (after she remarried; my biological grandfather died when I was very young) takes care of her, but I'd be shocked if she lived for all that much longer.

On the other hand, my grandpa on my mom's side is really struggling too. He had lung cancer a few years ago, and he did beat it, but he's been having a lot of trouble since. He started falling a lot and has been very weak ever since the cancer thing, and it feels like the falling has gotten a lot worse lately. He actually took a really hard fall a few weeks ago during a late Easter celebration, and I had to call 911 for him and he ended up staying in the ER for several days. I feel like it's kind of a matter of time at this point, because he's wasting away and getting weaker and weaker.

Shit sucks, honestly. It's really depressing to watch them get older and struggle like they are.

I still really wish that TH had a difficulty between hard and maddening. Hard is baby mode, but maddening can be really taxing at times.

NG+ maddening is probably the most balanced difficulty mode that TH has, but it can still get really tiring, especially in the lategame. TH's final maps are a huge headache on average.

Fantastic game. I played it so, so, so much, and I've been considering starting a fresh file and doing it again some time. Love the hell out of that game.

A quick search turned up nothing on the site at all (as in, no references to it online anywhere), but two sites with very similar names that were being discussed as scams.

There are an absurd amount of red flags with all of that. I'd steer clear.

As far as I'm aware, they already have the information. It's slightly off in some cases, but I'm pretty sure that they already have most of the info that they need for your taxes already. From what I understand, the entire hoop of needing to do it yourself is totally unnecessary and only continues to be the case because tax prep companies have lobbied really hard to make people do it themselves.

It's very absurd, but...well, here we are.

I'm pretty sure that this would be really easy to do in the US too, but it got lobbied down to hell and back by the tax prep industry.

Or something. I heard about it a while ago and just kind of sighed. We could fix so much shit in this country if the solutions weren't lobbied to death because they aren't profitable enough.

You can use all of the DLC classes in the main game, yeah. I forget if War Monk is gender-locked or not, though.

For what it's worth, you also unlock Abyss and the four Ashen Wolves in the main game once you beat the DLC. They're all free recruits that can be grabbed with no requirements on any route. Abyss also adds some side stuff to the monastery.

Don't get caught up in doing all of the sidequests or even exploring everything. Doing all of that stuff will burn you out hard, and for not all that much of a reward. Weave in some sidequests that are particularly interesting with the main story and it's a much better experience.

It definitely feels pretty damn grim right now, that's for sure. The GOP has declared all-out war against LGBT people, and they're continuously pushing more and more legislation aimed at fucking over LGBT as much as they think they can get away with.

If nothing else, red states feel totally fucked in this regard. It's gotten to the point where I don't think I can realistically consider living in one. I've considered moving to Texas or Florida in the past, but I legitimately wouldn't feel safe doing so at this point.

To an extent, yes, but there are often instances where the artist being an asshole has an identifiable influence on the art. At that point, it becomes much more difficult, if not impossible.

Wow, I thought that game was doing really well. I expected it to stay up a lot longer.

From what I understand, it tanked in profits in its second year and just never quite recovered. It announced that content was slowing down moving forward in the middle of last year, and it definitely seemed to be on a timer at that point.

I think it was doing strictly okay, but never quite great, so it's not exactly stunning that it's dying off, even if I thought it'd stick around for longer.

Dragalia Lost has officially announced end of service.

I'm honestly surprised to see someone who enjoyed it. The pretty universal consensus is that it was a fiasco.

The Future Arc cast may as well have been a bunch of cardboard cutouts. Most of them got no development to speak of, or were just flat-out awful. I only really liked the boxer and the pharmacist. Seeing a bunch of characters that I know nothing about or actively dislike chase each other around a bunch of hallways wasn't super compelling.

The show loved to play with huge things like killing Hina or Kyoko, but then backed out because it was too afraid to commit to them. The plot armor felt incredibly overbearing, and it just felt too safe. Having the entire DR2 cast survive was kind of nice on the level that my favorites who seemingly died made it after all, but it sort of takes away some of the impact of DR2's ending and the game as a whole.

The Despair arc was decent at least. Not anything super amazing, but passable at the very least.

As someone with a meager, critically failing YT channel, I won't begrudge anyone for doing what it takes. Sadly it's just the game that you have to play to stay in the algorithm's good graces.

It met about 60-70% of the AAA expectations, but the stability and QoL issues thwart it somewhat. It's fun enough that I'd be fine with a sequel somewhere down the line, though, since I doubt they'd replicate the "every gate in the city is locked lol" feel of the pandemic.

Yeah, I think that's where I'm at with the game overall. It's really close to being a really fucking good game, but it's just held back by some wonkiness here and there.

Honestly, I'd be really excited by a hypothetical sequel, because I think if they just ironed some issues out, it'd be a home run. It's a really cool/unique game, just with a few too many issues to be genuinely great.

I'm sort of sad that Vampyr is so obscure and probably won't ever get a sequel or anything.

The game had a lot of flaws, but it also had some cool ideas and a great concept. I feel like it has the makings of a top tier game with a bit more polish and some adjustments in a hypothetical sequel.

Hope you enjoy it either way. I had a lot of fun with it in spite of its problems.

But yeah, if you want depth, Disgaea isn't really for you. Most of it is more focused on heavy grinding to get really big numbers over actual depth. There's some, but...not much.

I used to be a huge Disgaea fan, but the series gradually lost me. It's so focused on super zany anime humor, big numbers, and tons of DLC characters, and the games just haven't innovated themselves in any meaningful ways. I've played 1-5, but I'm probably getting off of the ride as of now. They're fun games, but I feel like the series has sort of stagnated and it isn't inherently great enough to keep itself going.

Luanne's character development was wrecked by the writers never having a clue what to do with her character at any point in the series aside from the Buckley arc.

She started off as a competent mechanic before that aspect of her character was dropped and never referenced again.
Then she became the struggling beauty school student with a ditzy side.
Then she got the Buckley arc and had some phenomenal character development, leading to her going to college.
Then the writers did nothing with that for years before having her unceremoniously drop out and go back to hair, and having her become a stylist in a matter of minutes while ignoring that she always struggled in beauty school.
Then she just became a flat-out moron in later seasons before being shoved into the Lucky thing just to give her character something to do.

Her character was a mess aside from the Buckley stuff.

I mean, early on, he was basically just "Bobby's friend" without much else going on. It wasn't until the puberty stuff that he really became his own character and started getting plotlines about becoming a jock and awkwardly getting into dating.

It's more of a consequence of the writers not really bothering with him at all early on.

2 - Why are we supposed to think that a Warner Bros. game featuring DC characters is able to secure the rights to Disney and Marvel characters

My guess for #1 is that the name is a placeholder. I know that Naruto's leak in there is codenamed as "Ninja", it's just that there are assets in the data that make it really clear that it's Naruto (symbols related to him/shadow clone data).

For #2, bigger crossovers are en vogue right now. I'm guessing that they got a few characters that Disney okayed for free marketing.

I mean, it's hard to get super hyped for a crossover after the Nick All-Stars debacle, but still, that's an amusingly wild potential roster.

I guess on that note, Velma was just officially confirmed after being leaked.

43 posts in and still no other mentions of The House in Fata Morgana. Disappointing. I swear by it up and down and would put it above most games out there.

Also, yeah, to elaborate on my earlier mixed opinion of Somnium Files, it's the humor that kills it. The dumb anime humor wouldn't be bad if it was just used sporadically, but the "We're in a tough shootout! Quick, throw a porno mag to distract the enemies!" gag is used so many times and it just kills a lot of the tension in otherwise-cool scenes.

Fata Morgana should be at the top.

I'd also put Ace Attorney over these. Especially Somnium Files, which I found to be somewhat weak.
