Even if you're anti-trans (which is a fucking gross stance to take, don't get me wrong), a sale specifically aimed at mocking any suicide is just disgusting.

I legitimately cannot fathom supporting this. That's probably one of the most disgusting things I've seen in a long ass time.

I genuinely hope that it is somehow an astronomically unlikely coincidence, just so whatever remaining faith I have in humanity isn't crushed.

I got hit by a speeding truck and cracked my pelvis. Granted, I was knocked out so I don't remember the actual impact, but the pain in the weeks afterward was horrible, namely with the pelvis. I was generally banged up all over beyond that.

I think the worst of it was the rehab and walking for the first time after it happened.

But yeah, the overall pain over that whole incident was excruciating.

Christie was annoying, but she made an entertaining villain at times in a love-to-hate way, like with the Taco Tuesday stuff (though I hated Nick there too). I can kind of appreciate what she brought to the season in retrospect at least, even if I was rooting against her pretty hard during the season.

dotsdfe posted...
Atlus has flat-out stated that Kanji's sexuality is up to the player's interpretation, and that there's no official canon.

Also, at least one of the voice actors has said that they were told to play Kanji as a gay man throughout the entire game.

Saying that he's definitely straight is just outright wrong. We'll never truly know, unless Atlus randomly makes a canon P4-2 for some reason, and it's cleared up in that.

Eh, sounds like Atlus was just using the somewhat ambiguous portrayal of Kanji's sexual orientation to generate interest from the LGBTQ+ community for extra sales which is lame. Kanji has been proven to be attracted to various girls, and hasn't been proven to be attracted to males, so his orientation is definitely more heterosexual, than homosexual or bisexual.

I heard this way way after P4's initial release, like 3-4 years later. I doubt it was just PR.

Kanji has expressed interest in Yu in particular, albeit through questionable sources.

His final social link has a lot of romantic undertones in general, to the point where a young gay dots thought that he was going to be romanceable at that point and was disappointed when it stopped just short of any of that.

More decisively, in Persona Q, which Atlus has stated as canon (which is dumb btw, I don't think that they should have called the fighting games or PQ canon at all), there's a wedding dungeon in which you can be matched with any P3/4 party member or the Velvet Room attendants. At the end, depending on your choices throughout the dungeon, you get thrown into a "wedding" with your match. If you're playing as Yu and get Kanji as your match, he's decidedly not opposed to the idea (a stark contrast from virtually every other male), and quickly goes with the idea.

Again, I'm so iffy on discussing the latter as canon in particular, but there are definitely hints that Kanji is into Yu.

At the end of the day, though, I think that Atlus's statement on the matter fits best: it's deliberately left ambiguous, and there's no canon answer.

I personally consider him fully bi, but I'll also admit that I'm biased in that I don't think there are enough good LGBT characters out there, and I love genuinely good ones in mainstream media, and plus I've used Kanji in everything related to P4 (P4, both Arena games, Persona Q, and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle) since it was released.

Like, the whole thing just sounds ludicrous, like how the plan was to have Captain Marvel repeatedly show up Spider-Man to make him look dumb, and how they've totally lost faith in CM for no real reason.

It all just reeks of bitter and politically-motivated "journalism" that keeps getting spread for some reason. I've seen this thread posted a few times, and I've seen it on Twitter a few times too.

Franklin was just sort of there, and it felt like he was the least prevalent of the three, especially when the Trevor/Michael drama became such a big thing late in the game.

Michael just felt whiny to me. He kept complaining about everything and saying that he was done, but then going along with it anyway. He said that he was totally done with the FIB so many times, then just whined about it when they'd call him up...and go along with it anyway.

As for networking events, I don't really know if there would be any in my area (southern Missouri) or not.

So what field/industry is it at least? You've provided minimal context here so I've kept my responses generic.

I've been working as a tutor for English, Social Studies, Psychology, and Microsoft Word for a few years, with some freelance writing on the side, but I'm looking to get into something in either a proofreading/copy editing position (which is basically what I do now as an English tutor; most of my job is just reviewing papers and suggesting changes), or a full time writing job. I feel like I have the experience for either, so I've been applying for pretty much anything that I'm remotely qualified for, but evidently my experience doesn't translate over well enough for most employers.

I've also written two novels, though I haven't tried to get either one published, so I'm not sure if those would fo me much good on a resume.

Anyway, I need to head out soon, so if you address anything else to me and I don't respond, that would be why. I appreciate the advice thus far, even if I'm still honestly feeling pretty pessimistic about everything.

It just breaks your spirit after a while, to search so hard for so long with absolutely nothing to show for it. Any sense of self-worth that I had has utterly eroded by now.

If you aren't even getting to an interview stage, then it means you aren't "enticing" recruiters to want to talk to you. Have you consulted anyone on maybe improving the way you present?

Failing all that, it doesn't hurt to attend networking/industry events to get a feel for what the recruiters are like and what they're looking for.

Did you learn nothing from your current job? Without knowing anything about your industry or role, at the very least 5 years shows you can be a loyal/committed employee, and given you haven't been fired, would imply you had some responsibilities and were trusted by your superiors.

Given I work in a professional role, I've seen candidates come through who are able to sell their casual work at KFC or at a local newsagency as to how it's relevant to what attributes/behaviours we look for (e.g. organising/scheduling work, prioritising customer relations, coaching/training/mentoring new staff, performing book keeping in Excel, coming up with new initiatives/ideas, dealing with difficult colleagues, etc), and can demonstrate how they've handled different situations and what they've learnt.

I generally just don't hear anything at all, and I've checked stats to see exactly what TC pointed out - hundreds or thousands of people applying for the position, making it pretty damn pointless to even try. It's like playing the lottery and you're just not going to stand out in that pool without a ton of experience.

Honestly, I'm just ready to kill myself at this point. Job prospects feel absolutely hopeless, I don't have the money to go back to school, and I feel like my life is just wasting away in a dead end job that's barely enough to pay loan payments. I just want out.

Have you considered what do you bring to the table? If you're competing with a bunch of other similarly qualified individuals, what differentiates you and makes you a better fit? What makes you a less risky candidate to hire?
