Part 3 is great for like, the first 40% and the last 40%.

Somewhere around the middle, it starts to meander really hard and the formulaic nature started to get kind of dull. I started getting really bored of it right around the middle, but then the Egypt stuff happened and I became interested again. The endgame is fantastic, too, aside from the dismal video game part.

Fallout 3 is pretty good.

New Vegas is great.

Both worth playing in some capacity, though you'd probably get burnt out if you beat both back-to-back. I'd recommend NV if you only want to do one though.

Is this confirmed, or just hearsay thus far? I've heard the buzz around it on Twitter since last night, but I haven't seen a source that definitively confirms it beyond rumors. It does seem likely with the tweets about the trial, but I want to be certain before judging for sure.

Not to downplay any of this, but I always treat posts about others with skepticism. It's possible for someone to make something up to smear someone that they don't like.

If it's true, he's total scum, which is a huge shame since I liked him as a player before. I think he's done in the FGC either way, because a ton of people have already turned on him hard.

MvCI had a ton of issues from the onset:

-Short dev time made a lot suspicious out of the gate.
-Terrible advertising for characters and just kind of dumping trailers with a bunch of really obvious/bland picks with no individual focus to hype people up.
-Announcing DLC (Sigma) immediately after the game's announcement.
-Bad roster.
-Quickly finding itself as the butt of a joke due to the graphics (that Chun-Li pic was everywhere on FGC Twitter) + stuff like the "Functions" meme.

It was all very messy and I don't think there's any one factor that definitively ended it as much as a lot of really bad stuff that accumulated over time. By the time it launched, everyone but the shilliest of shills was pretty lukewarm on it at best.

I still grabbed it on launch in hopes that it would exceed expectations, since I loved MvC3. It was kind of fun to play, but I never got into it enough to take it seriously and somewhat regret gambling on it.

I will say though, that as a gay person who loves seeing good gay characters...I hated the Dumbledore thing. I didn't really get gay from him at all in the books, and then JK Rowling was like "Btw he's gay, look how awesome I am" on Twitter.

But yeah, those types of people will literally never be happy with a gay character in anything, nor will they accept any form of subtext or smaller hints that any given character is gay. It's one of those things that you just have to accept. There's no changing their minds and it's really not worth trying.

It's so weird that Fortnite is apparently a huge thing. I never hear anything about it other than the occasional story about how it's ruining lives or kids are dancing to it or whatever. It feels like it came out of nowhere and only exists when I hear about how massive it is every month or so.

idk, maybe it's because I don't keep up with gaming trends that much, but it seems bizarre to me that I still don't know what the game actually is and don't know anybody who plays it, yet it's evidently fucking massive.

I didn't actually mind it, but Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is fairly infamous for its final dungeon. It was pretty long, a bit confusing, and had several boss fights in it.

Yes/no.

You can clear all of the single player content and get to higher tiers of arena without spending a dime. You have to budget your orbs (IE not going hard on every single banner, but picking and choosing what you want to pull for), but it's not too tough to get a solid army going for free. Additionally, there are a lot of strong ass characters in the common pools, and you can build them up to be a threat. Even weaker characters can generally be built into gods of death with the right skills.

With that said, the very top tiers of arena are pretty much whale-only. There are currently 21 tiers and I can't see a non-whale hitting T21. However, I'm totally F2P and bounce between tiers 18/19, and could get to tier 20 (which was the highest tier until recently) if I focused on +10ing good BST units over just promoting/building my favorite characters.

TLDR: Mostly no, but it's P2W at the highest possible ends of PVP. Even then, you can go incredibly far for no money.

He's going to be a monster with Distant Counter and a Distant Defense 3 seal. He has good ATK and high DEF/RES.

I recently beat KH2, and was surprised that its ending literally features Sora and Riku sitting on a beach together, declaring how much they mean to one another, and falling asleep together.

I had heard the comments about the series having a lot of gay moments, but there's no way that all of that stuff wasn't intentional.

The Axel/Roxas thing has a ton of romantic undertones too. Axel is probably the best-written character in the series from what I've played thus far, though, and it's a cute enough relationship.

Evidently the next Famitsu (being released on Tuesday) is going to cover the Smash info that was supposed to be shown in the Direct.

At the rate things are going, if they wait for the full week, there won't be much worth watching on the Direct, since things keep getting spoiled. They may as well show it on Sunday or Monday to at least preempt the Famitsu Smash spoilers.

They soft confirmed AA7 last year by saying that the upcoming AA and future titles in the series will be in Switch.

There have also been murmurs of porting the entire main series to Switch.

Athena really does need something, though. Trucy, too, for that matter. Trucy has been relevant for all of 1 case since AA4, and Athena got a short filler case in 6 (where Blackquill stole the show anyway). AA6's DLC case actually actively mocks how irrelevant Athena is.

Really, a case where Phoenix is out of town and Athena & Trucy team up would help both a lot.

Absolutely. The fanbase has basically done a complete 180. It added lots of stuff like dispatchable frigates, massive base options, better graphics, more to do, multiplayer, etc. It's very much what you described now. I'd recommend it.

Alright, cool, I'll consider that as well.

I'm in the mood for two things in a game: exploration, and some kind of building or customization mechanic.

I think the obvious example would be Minecraft, but perhaps a bit more structured. I played a lot of Minecraft ages ago and don't reaaaaally feel like doing it again unless I rebuy it (since mine is the 360 version and super outdated) and start a new world.

Skyrim also came to mind, but the house mechanic wasn't that interesting, and I've beaten Skyrim 1.5 times and just don't feel like tackling it again. I have Oblivion and haven't played it in years, but I don't recall if it has any type of custom building mechanics or anything.

I also thought of Fable and its real estate system, but I didn't really enjoy Fable outside of that. It's not quite a building mechanic, but it had a similar feeling of progression and something along those lines sounds fun too.

I can't think of anything that I can get that really hits at what I'm in the mood for without revisiting something. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that fits that specific mood I'm in? It's a pretty specific mood, but something like that sounds super fun right now.

The soundtrack is great in all of them except maybe AA2 which has a few weaker tracks (though its later ones are fantastic).

Really, the games in general are great. AA is my favorite game series ever, personally.

My personal order is 3 = AAI2 (Japan-only, but has a great fan translation) > 6 > 2 = 5 > 1 > Layton vs. AA > AAI1 > 4. Haven't been able to play the DGS games, sadly.

The order is different for a lot of people, though, and I love pretty much all of them on some level. If you already have the trilogy, I'd definitely continue it at some point.

In that case, Dual Destinies is probably your best bet. If you only want one, Spirit of Justice is better (IMO), but the stories still build onto one another.

I'm a huge fan of the series, and I really like the Layton series, but Layton vs. AA is near the bottom for me. It's fun fanservice if you love both series, but the individual cases aren't fantastic aside from case 3, and the main plot is pretty silly.

Not the Layton one.

The entire main series is available now on 3DS, so if you haven't played any of them, start with the Ace Attorney Trilogy and play 1-3, then if you like it, continue in order (Apollo Justice (4) -> Dual Destinies (5) -> Spirit of Justice (6).)

The trilogy is the most bang for your buck though, and the stories build on each other, so it's the best one to start with if you're new to the series.

If you're not, I'd still go in order for the 3DS-only ones (5 -> 6). I do think 6 is better than 5, but they're both good.

Layton vs. AA is okay but is spinoff-y and kind of weird, and has some really dumb main plot elements that make it a bit meh in the long run.

Not really that familiar with lore in various mediums so I may be way off, but I'd say it depends on the series/world. I think they're basically supposed to be pig-men in some universes, but other times they're pretty much just big green dudes so more like humans?

I don't really read lore for stuff like TES or anything, so I might be way off, but I get the feeling that it varies in that manner.

Very, very slightly overrated.

The combat was just okay and is overshadowed by similar games that do it better (DMC/Bayonetta/etc). Obviously Nier is more of an RPG than those, but it still felt like playing an actiony game along those lines, but a little bit worse.

The B-route was also a little forgettable until near the end when it picks up.

Beyond those minor gripes, I loved the game, and didn't care about the fanservice in the least (as a gay male). The story, characters, and OST were all phenomenal, and some of the best in gaming. If the combat was a little bit better, I'd think it would have a legitimate claim to one of my favorite games of all time.

I honestly feel like something is up with this banner.

The two friends I know who play FEH and I both put in over 100 orbs and none of us have gotten a 5* yet.

Phoenixmaster01, a somewhat popular FEH YTer, used 450 orbs and got like, Ishtar, Julia, and 5* Tailtiu.

I feel like there's some funky luck going on with that banner.
