witnesses calling the police is never going away

I feel a road incident is quite different than a man on the street saying he thinks that guy robbed the house or whatever. I have had instances where people on the road tried to run me off and they could very easily have followed me home and lied about this kinda stuff. Infact, some have tried to follow me. My guess is they didn't know they could call the cops and they would actually show up. I certaintly would have never thought that as it is really illogical and against human behavior. But I guess it might be a good way to carch drunk drivers. Nevertheless, it is seems alot of potential for abuse and in this case it seems clear it was abused.

I would say that whether something is legal or not does not mean it is correct and should be legal. This is one of those cases. If I was followed home and harassed by the cops because of this I would also be very upset. Good to know this is a thing that exists, so I can vote to have it removed when given the chance or protest it. I could see certain people targetting others if they know about this like ex-cops who see a black person doing something they dislike.

Seems problematic when regular citizens say cops don't know the law and cops say the regular citizen's don't know the law. This sounds to me like a broken system with a critical disconnect. And I am not talking hardened criminals here.

Im not him, but I could. It would require a lot of effort and Im not convinced anyone here is open-minded enough.

In order to do so there must be an agreement to how the text is viewed.
Is it all a hack and slash job of misjumbled interpretations by early Church fathers? If that is a person's view, then you cannot prove that.

Then does a person believe it means what it says? Then you have the issue such as this thread is asking about.

Then does it only mean what it says when it is convenient?
Well, if I find following any certain teaching of Jesus inconvenient then I would argue the bible does not tell me I must do that.

Cuz if you're already not following literally every single thing the Bible says verbatim, then blasting the LGBT community doesn't magically absolve that, regardless of if the Bible really says it or not.

If you're unable to live life is a perfect, pure human being, it doesn't matter. That's the entire fucking point of Christianity. You believe in Jesus Christ, do your best to follow his teachings, and go to heaven.

Also are you implying you're not Christian, but still acting as an authority on what the Bible says?

That is merely your interpretation.
Or can you prove that these are truths found in the bible to be upheld?

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why religion is losing popularity.

You have too many deranged individuals spouting nonsense like this.

Ironically, from Jesus view his religion was never meant to be popular. He even says very few will be saved.

Luke 13:23-24
23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

The reason for this is explained very well in that the spirit and the flesh want vastly different things.
For one thing, the hedonism of modern society is not one the biblical text would ever align with and yet many Churches claim they have found a way.

Question for all the bigoted cancerous Christians ITT fighting tooth and nail in this thread about vague interpretations of the Bible:

Did you attend church this Easter weekend? Do you pray and thank God for the blessings you have everyday? Do you help the needy? Do you follow all the teachings of Jesus?

If not, shut the fuck up before posting more low-IQ responses where you cherry pick random, out-of-context passages from the Bible which haven't been directly translated in centuries.

Even someone who is not a Christian and does not these things can clearly answer what the bible says on this subject. Crying hypocrite doesn't change the text.

Furthermore, what makes you think someone needs to go to church on Easter and pray and thank God everyday?

Well-said, though I doubt that's going to stop the conservatrolls from trying to perpetuate the fundamentalist narrative of gays being evil and deserving of harm.

It should be noted that just because the bible doesn't support something doesn't mean it authorizes harm.
Basically the stance the bible takes on homosexually from a textual view is no different than the stance it takes on having sex with your girlfriend or remarrying because you no longer love your wife. These things are seen as normal in modern society but textually the bible views them as sins.

But historically the bible has been used as a tool for harm and hate not because it authorizes that to sinner but in spite of sinners being who Jesus died for. Basically Jesus was a pacifist so the likes of the crusades and such are far far from his teachings.

lol you're a perfect example of the type of Pharisee hubris that ruins your own understanding

read the entire chapter

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+19&version=NIV

he was explicitly asked by the Pharisees about a man divorcing his wife. the question was framed that way from the beginning.

Why do you believe the question he was asked has any bearing on unrelated information he voluntarily gave before he answered the question?

His answer was you don't have sex in heaven so she won't be anyone's wife.

But he went into a whole thing about God making them man and woman and that is why they get married. I mean, his whole implication is that Eve was once part of Adam's body because she is a female. This logic, being Jesus logic, would call to question where the link between two men come as one was not metaphorically the rib of the other as in the bible tradition. I say metaphorically because only Eve was even by bible standards literally a rib.

So why did it take nearly 30 years and a bunch of gentrification for people to start speaking out?

Could be many reasons:

1. No one cares
2. People cared but didn't want to hurt relationship with neighbors and family (they related to them)
3. They had no idea what to do about it. Calling the cops can be looked down negatively as you are a snitch and also if some are illegal you would be hurting them more than just getting them a $200 fine or whatever.
4. If you yourself are illegal or have things to hide, don't want the cops coming more often.
5. Could be the cops did get called and just ignored the neighborhood.

The gentrifiers usually aren't related and don't care about their neighborly relationship. They don't care about being a snitch since they are karens. They aren't illegal themselves most likely and probably wouldn't care what happens to those who are. They also want the cops to patrol around more often as that is kinda a big point of gentrification.
And their money means the cops start caring more about their calls.

That is a pretty meaningless term since new residents mean the local culture changes.

Which is weird because as this thread has pointed out, car culture is not a solely hispanic thing.
