not gonna lie this actually looks sick

yes and no.

I think certain things in graphics bother me more now than they used to, like clipping or bad animations. like there are some things that people can't get away with, whereas probably when I was younger I would've been like "who cares if it's fun."

but also it depends on the game. like I know the new Ace Attorney HD sprites are kind of weird looking but I don't care because it's AA.

she'll probably end up looking like new lara croft (who is all things considered pretty "hot" by any standard) but nerds will complain anyway

Honestly I bailed on Sky1 my first playthrough. I think the only way I got through it was by multitasking (like playing it during basketball or tennis or films)

cold steel is honestly a bit improvement. It's not going to win any awards or anything but it's more enjoyable.

some pretty good games with worse battle systems than sky:

final fantasy ix
ffviii
breath of fire (all of them)

but yeah, judging from last year I bet we get the same remake trailer from yesterday and no more new information

My biggest SE wet dream is for them to remake Chrono Trigger with Arc System Works and partner with them again for Chrono Trigger 2 with the gooch, Yuji Hori and Yasunori Mitsuda back. Both exclusively for Switch. Then tomorrow Frog gets announced for Smash.

I'm well aware that will never happen, so I'll settle for Yoko on XVI (and some Avengers gameplay)

How do these games compare to Tales games because they look like Tales games

better than most Tales games but an overall slower experience

Trails is much more invested in world building (to a fault sometimes)

Trails combat is turn-based and usually not very good (I love Sky and Cold Steel but combat is not that great, let's be honest)

story-wise Trails in the Sky is close to the top of the genre. The Cold Steel games are not as good but still better than your typical Tales game. Both are obviously anime weeb games.

Pretty sure whats coming in March 2020 is at most a four hour game. Honestly Id be ecstatic with a 15 hour Midgar episode 1 deal, but Im not holding my breath

zestiria's not a 0/10 game... it's more like a 5/10. I honestly can't go into detail about the last third because I'm pretty sure I abandoned it halfway through.

I would say that berseria absolutely "sticks the landing" as far as how it develops the party members, particularly magilou, rokurou and eizen. there's definitely a debate re: velvet and laphi, but I remember it being fairly well done (particularly for a tales game).

but whatever. everyone's entitled to their tastes. berseria's not perfect either tbh. I think it gets a lot of attention from fans because of how unexpectedly good it was. Now that there are expectations again, I firmly expect the Tales series to disappoint, lol

yeah I respect that zestiria tried something new with the whole fusion/spirit whatever nonsense but it just wasn't that good

graces f honestly has better combat than berseria, I think. that game is so fun.

unless remaster means "significantly changing the battle system and re-writing the conclusion so that it's actually good," nah, you can go ahead and skip it again

Yeah a graphical revamp is overdue and this seems okay to me

as long as there are still skits I'm all aboard

edit: also it's gotta have a Berseria/graces esque battle system or something new (not Vesperia/Xillia/Zestiria in other words)

trails of cold steel doesn't even get good until it's sequel

but you have to play the first one in order for it to make sense, so it's a huge commitment

it's worth it ultimately, I guess

all I'm saying is if they add a new girl they better fix haru too
