He gains some points for being a playable ICON, and for helping Locke save Terra at the very beginning of the game, but he's actually completely detached from the actual story. Sure, I guess Ramuh teaches him how to talk and gets him to join your party - thanks, Ramuh, we really needed the help of a talking Moogle - but that just adds to his feeling of being shoe horned in. I'll add another point for the Moogle Charm.

Laharl / Mid-Boss

Seifer always struck me as closeted. His "relationship" with Rinoa was certainly a front. Squall, meanwhile, probably has had sex once or something prior to FF8, but certainly does not compare to Mid-Boss's escapades. Laharl's a virgin, obviously.

Ramza / Delita

Dudes, Delita was for sure banging someone every night even before he became King. Ramza was less promiscuous, but I'm sure he got laid on the reg travelling around the country with Gafgarion. Nightmare is a non-debatable zero. Siegfried could be a virgin, but if not maybe 5 times at the most.

I often laughed at the interactions between the Seifer Gang - they had real chemistry, which is more than I can say for your actal party members! That being said, Fujin is still pretty much a gimmick character, so yeah a little above average sounds right.

Also the online community is so bad

It is easy, but it's also incredibly unforgiving. I kind of hate it, because I feel like the characters I want to play as are completely useless against Wesker/Dante/Vergil/Wolverine. It's so much easier to open people up with those characters, plus they all do a lot of damage.

Yeah, her problems have pretty much already been covered. Also, big ups to FFIX for somehow making the "Jump" command not useful or fun at all due to how slow the battles are.

I used to think I hated this game, but I've come to realize I just hate the battle system really. For all it's other flaws, if they just gave us a different battle system I'd enjoy the game a lot more.

I think it looks fun to play, but like I said, I hope they don't try to make us think this is the same Raiden from the core titles. They don't even have to say anything like "parallel universe" - as long as they just don't mention anything from the prior games and just treat it like a spin-off game, cool.

Probably the most tragic FF character ever. Despite all of the tragedy in her life, she uses her overwhelming positivity and kindness as a means of strengthening herself and others. And boy has there been tragedy. Her biological parents are killed in front of her, she grows up the lone survivor of the Ancients, she's stalked by creepy Tseng, just when things start looking up, her first boyfriend is killed. She is a character of perfect faith. I suppose some people might think she acts "too good to be true" or something... well, that was kind of the point. FF7 is a dark game, and she is the lone hold-out. It's fitting that she is the first and last character you see in FF7, because despite her death it is her faith and determination that carries the team and ultimately saves the world.

I would actually give her a perfect, but CC did kind of overuse her.

Not good - slightly less personality than Umaro. The 2 points come strictly from historical importance, as one can assume she is the very first "named" female character in FF history, thus part of the series's first attempt at characters with backstory. What I mean to say is that she isn't a generic white mage (in theory), she's a half-step up.

yeah a game where the player character can actually rape someone is something that will never happen. it's definitely more offensive. I could see somewhere in the future a game having a rape scene, perpetrated by a villain.

child murder wouldn't offend me at all, unless it was some unnecessarily gruesome mini game or something.

wow somehow this contest got me to vote for two FFX characters despite my hatred for them. I guess I hate poorly developed villains even more than annoying party members.

It clearly does have a great ending, anyone who argues otherwise has no soul

I mean, maybe I'm giving Republicans too much credit, but I think MOST of them would find this commercial at least in poor taste. The christian extremists might like it, but that's about it.

I also think the load times are bad. If this was the ONLY version of FFVI available, I wouldn't complain, but why would anyone choose to play this version when there's a superior version out there? The FMV adds nothing, imo.

I can't really remember anything about her, except that when you first meet her, she's up-front and outgoing. So I guess she's meant to be a foil to Squall's character. There's also the whole floating through space part, which I feel is sort of iconic. Not bad, but not good. Not annoying, but not likable. Perfectly average.

This post highly amuses me. Your changes can be summed up as follows:

-Make it more like Chrono Trigger


Really my only suggestion to make it more like Chrono Trigger is the battle system. The other suggestions are more like "Make it less like Chrono Cross and more like other traditional jRPG's." I'm not saying make it hand-drawn 2D or anything like that (even if that would be awesome).

Here are some impressions from someone whose only knowledge of Dante comes from Marvel vs Capcom 3:

- In a purely visual comparison I prefer the redesign to the white hair/red coat design.

-Combat looks cool, but again, not cool enough to really interest me. I need to see a bit more of the gameplay before I really judge this.

- Story/atmosphere is where this could sell me. I enjoyed the narration and the settings in this trailer. I don't think Dante comes across as emo or a pretty boy, which are some of the common complaints of DMC fans.

Cloud and Sephiroth could probably be in this

cue general Uncharted 3 nitpick thread

-Is it just me or do the faces in Uncharted 3 seem a little off? I know in Uncharted 2 Chloe and Elena looked a little fugly at times, but it seems even more pronounced in Uncharted 3. Particularly Marlowe. Like an uncooked version of Meryl Streep. And why does Drake have an underbite now?

-Also there's still a lot of bugs in this game. I've already gotten stuck inside things (a dumpster and a rock) and had to restart from the last checkpoint twice.

-Finally, I know this is a general trend in games now, but what a poor instruction book. I would've docked it a point on this alone (I'm admittedly strict and OCD about this sort of stuff though).

I understand Ayuyu's point about short main stories. I mostly agree with him - the exception is the Metal Gear games, since they have so many easter eggs and non-linear gameplay, it makes it worth it.

yeah, i take back what I said earlier about Frank being harder to use than Wright. after watching more gameplay videos is looks like he can level up extremely quickly, even without drinking. obviously he's got better normals than wright too, plus taking photos actually does damage.

after watching the RR vs. Frank trailer, it seems that Frank can level up really fast if he drinks, and he gains levels quicker if there are more characters on the screen of if they're currently fighting one of his zombies
