That doesn't mean he still didn't commit a crime, and that doesn't mean that normalizing vigilantism isn't harmful for society as a whole.

They're generally the same people who complain about everything being boy band and mumble rap like 10-20 years after those aren't even popular or relevant anymore.
If they're into "rock" music they're probably wienies with bowl cuts and K-Mart bought Led Zeppelin shirts who play guitar and listen to Dream Theater, and say rap isn't "real music." If they're into punk they're probably dudes who haven't been to a punk or hardcore show in 20 years, and think punk music is about listening to GG Allin and taking shits on Target restroom floors. If they're into metal they're probably neckbeards in Iron Maiden shirts and 2E D&D groups. If they're into rap they're probably the people who follow pages on Facebook about "classic rap," and posting "god bless" under photos of Tupac.

The issue here isn't what whether or not what the guy did was wrong. The reason societies punish people like this is because if you allow them to get away with what they did, however justified it might be, you teach other people that it's ok to take law into their hands. In situations where it might not be so cut and dry as this one clearly was. Which then leads to innocent people being killed because some person was convinced they did something. Which happened because you created a society wherein it's permissible to believe yourself judge, jury, and executioner.

I hate Michigan lefts so much.

My girlfriend and I were having this debate. I told her I was surprised that U of M is so prestigious because I can't imagine people from out of state moving here. I told her before moving to Michigan I literally only thought of Detroit and Flint, and that whenever I think of how others see my home state, Ohio, they think of Cleveland and Columbus. I said people from other states seem to have negative opinions of both, and associate both with impoverished, blue collar, rust belt cities. (To be clear, I like stuff about both states, and I don't see these things as a negative although I think most people do)

She said Michigan has a positive image and people think about Traverse City and Mackinac (which I hadn't even heard about before moving here), and the upper peninsula. She also said that people think of Ohio State and Amish country when they think of Ohio.
