One thing I don't really get is most of the Buddy system. Like when it comes to hiring them and sending them on missions and stuff, but it seems like I can just ignore that stuff, so I am going to.

I am now about 12 hours in and while I can't really pinpoint any aspect of it that I love other than the general loop, this is all I wanna play in my free time. I'm addicted to it.

Figured out another mechanic, buying scrap to upgrade my buddies gear.
Now my boys are fitted with the best stuff available.

You could have posted this every year for the 5 years.

If you keep building the highest tier of the weapons you find, generally they're stronger. But overall your power level does not become double or triple your current damage until you enter like end game. It's very minimal increase in damage, though generally having better sharpness is very QOL and also good for DPS

The weapon upgrade window is about 75 a big "?" I just want to get to a point to where I can at least see better versions lol.

My armor is good though because they let you get a pretty good armor set by checking your mail.

I am fine with my quick attack, but I always mess up my rhythm when trying to use a heavy attack.

Rise is my first MH game.

So far I have about 8 hours in, and I think I "get" it for the most part.

One thing annoying me though is I feel like I've barely been able to upgrade my weapons. Does unlocking better weapon upgrades increase once I get to 2 or 3 star levels?

I've seen them all too and even though I agree with a few points I will overall say these are bad takes.

I'll just say, thank god there is an Easy mode. Though I do feel like I am getting better at being on beat.

So far based on what I have read, this seems like the ultimate weeb handheld.

Just played through the first level on Series X, and while I will admit the appeal is mostly nostalgia, it does control better than I expected it to.

They are adding the fighting game to Game Pass next week, so I figured I should be familiar with the show a bit before playing it.

I just bought all the Mega Man collections for XBOX (except for Zero), gonna play through OG games before starting the X series.

You really won't know what you're doing for several years. Summer will recharge you a bit. I say at least stick it out 3 years before giving up. Get through this year and you will have a better plan of attack for next year.
My first year was not easy but overall okay, but my second year was non-stop hell. Like I wished I would get cancer so I could take medical leave. But then I switched from an inner city school to a rural school and absolutely love it. The school you are in can make a big difference.
I teach 6th and 7th and the maturity jump in that one year is pretty crazy.

I bought the Sriracha branded ones and they were really spicy, and I didn't even get the hot version.

I played 40 minutes and had fun. I suck at rythm anything so I am playing on easy and I'm not even gonna attempt to worry about pulling off perfect combos. I will most likely stick with it till I beat it. It visually looks and runs great.

He took a break. It's not really that interesting.

Yeah I'm hyped.

Installing Hi-Fi Rush right now.
Gonna play Goldeneye this weekend.

Excited for JoJo and Hot Wheels coming up.

I'm still diving into Monster Hunter Rise. The backlog never ends!

Thanks to the replies already and playing a good 4-5 hours I think I understand the basics. Like I am bad at the game but I get it now.
I am still confused about how the wirebug works in combat but I am sure I can find a youtube video about that.

I made a terrible mistake of naming my dog companion Buddy since that is the name the game uses for all companions.

So am I gonna have to replay mission to kill enough of a specific type of monster to get enough ingredients?
Is there like a free roam mode where you can just go into an area to kill as much as you can?

I fainted on a mission earlier but only cause i had some mega potions but it refused to let me use them for some reason, pissed me off.

I don't like this kind of dialogue in anything really (such as Marvel movies) but I see no need to complain about this specific instance the way some people are.
Feels pretty obvious the overblown levels of hatred are because the character is a woman and person of color. Like it's just a person talking in game, settle down.

You should have gotten an Urgent Quest if you completed the required number of key quests (the quests that have an X icon to the left of their names). So if you did all of them, you should have an Urgent Quest to do.

There are a couple early game armors that can be made with money instead of materials. Kamura and Leather specifically. So maybe that's what is confusing you because they're listed twice in the armor forging menu.

It's Kamura.
Like if I goto upgrade it says Kamura, but when I go to craft the one option is Kamura too, so I am not sure if I need to craft it or already have it.

Urgent quest just popped up after a convo.

Switched to Dual Blades. Did the four 1 Star missions available but no more have popped up.

Upgrading armor is confusing because I already have some armor that I can upgrade but then I can also buy some new stuff but as far as I can tell its the exact same stuff I already have.

I've done the tutorial and one other quest.

So far the only thing that sort of seems confusing is upgrading weapons and armor.
The menus for that are just too busy.

I am slowly being crushed under menus.

Dude running Metal Slug right now is the most hyped and positive runner I have ever heard.

30s I guess but both were cool.
