Not that this is something to look forward to, but I do wonder what the boiling point is for a radical response from citizens.

I'm not taking about blowing up Wendy's or the precinct, but straight up come for an officer's blood? Like the next time a cop is seen doing some crooked shit or wrongly imposes death on someone, and a few civilians straight mob him/her?

I'd imagine at this point, though, society would be a completely trashed state.

There are roughly 329,000,000 civilians in the United States. That means civilians are killed by officers at a rate of 0.0003%. I get that enjoyment is the last thing they said and enjoying slave owners or people who killed others to preserve slavery shouldn't be enjoyed, but all of that still happened and we shouldn't wash it away and pretend it never happened. Tell the world who these men were, tell the world what they did, don't glorify their actions or them as a person, just lay out the facts so we know how our country started, and how every day we have to make sure that today we are further away from who they were then. It is our history, and the good, bad and ugly needs to be taught to people otherwise we get elementary school levels of education where Martin Luther King is like the black Santa Claus instead of a man fighting for the rights of his people. You can educate without celebrating the bad people.

What exactly do you propose in replacement of law enforcement

It needs reform so the corruption in the force can end. Getting rid of it entirely is just tantamount to legalizing murder

this is based on several assumptions, including:
1. the police are effective at preventing murder, either as a deterrent or by direct intervention
2. the police are effective at solving murders
3. corruption in the system, rather than the system itself, is the problem
4. reforming the system would end corruption and/or the actual problems
5. the reforms themselves will be permanent fixtures of the system, rather than policies that can be undone, ignored, or otherwise undermined

of these assumptions, 3 and 5 are outright false.

I have read many convincing arguments against 4 and none in favour of it, so it's going in the "tenuous" pile

the data on solved murders suggests that 2 is false as well. there is some semantic ambiguity in what counts as "effective" though, so I'll be generous and call it "tenuous" as well

the reduction in crime rates in Camden is, admittedly, not much to go on, but it does suggest that 1 is false as well.

so 2 assumptions of 5 are false, and the other 3 are tenuous.

you should probably do some re-examining of where these assumptions are coming from -- I can recommend some books/essays/articles to help you along if you like

personally I don't particularly care if people are born "partial" -- society is racist. people raised in society learn racism. at the individual level, it takes conscious effort to unlearn those ideas. if society were structured differently, fewer people would have those ideas

Haha yeah that' skinda funny. I don't know if I've ever seen a single anime I thought was better than TLA. HxH is real close I guess.

nen might be the most interesting power system in a fictional work. bending (and other power systems, like Quirks) has a more interesting way of integrating that power system into the society though.

also the HxH anime has a couple major shortcomings as an adaptation, while Avatar doesn't have that issue since it was a cartoon the whole time

Neither are particularly deep or masterful. But Naruto has a more enriched world, both physically and politically. Which makes complete sense since the series is about 10x as long or something.
