You would stay in that kids life regardless of them not being biologically yours. Its called empathy and compassion.

If a person walks away from a kid over that then the kid suffers just as much. If a person walks away from a kid over that then that person probably never gave a shit about their kid anyway.

it seems reasonable for the man in such a hypothetical to still have some relationship with the child while being absolved of any financial responsibility.

Bear in mind, Wills BB2 game is very sloppy. I made a video just about his game that season so that I can eventually lead into a bigger discussion about the two. That said, Wills BB7 game is masterful.

Im not sure Id call the winning game in BB10 all that sloppy, although I havent watched the season in a few years, so some details may be eluding me. Week 1 is definitely the low point, but thats Brians fault. From there on its pretty controlled at every point. People get mad at the winner quite often but the same happened to Will.

The F7 veto roulette is a hot mess, Ill agree, but it does have several added benefits that dont seem obvious at face value. I do think that move is sloppy though (I briefly talk about it in my flashy moves vid). But then Will has the F4 blunder and while I havent gotten to that point yet in my BB7 rewatch, I cant say Dan does anything worse than that.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I just relate to him to a degree because I'm prone to being disgruntled. I don't recall anything about him necessarily being abusive, just that his wife left him because she was fed up with him bitching all the time and playing perpetual victim. I could be wrong though. It has been years since I last watched it.

towards the end we see signs of him being verbally abusive when he goes to her home and watches some old home videos, nothing points to any physical abuse though and a lot of it is implied more than anything

I mean the revenge element is clearly there but I don't white privilege from it at all. That concept is recent and the movie is like 25 years old. It's just a disgruntled guy going postal. The term "going postal" became a thing in that era. The term "white privilege" became mainstream probably 15 years after the movie was made. Young people have the timeline wrong and are looking at it from the wrong angle as a result. That's how it seems to me. The only time I really disagreed with the protagonist was in the fast food place. You know the food used in commercials is not the food you get. Come on now.

it really is an interesting and good movie and douglas isnt meant to be portrayed as the 'good guy', although the director leaves it kind of open ended and let's people make their own conclusions it gives enough hints that the main character is the bad guy and the old weary cop is the good guy imo. people try to extrapolate a white priviledge meaning from the film but i think that is silly and revisionist, the main character is just a mentally unstable, abusive husband who eventually snaps. he has some redeeming qualities but is ultimately the villain of the film
