I'm probably already spoiled some (I remember the main character having some sort of badass attack for the special that a normal human definitely couldn't do, and I think glowing eyes due to some sort of energy, and his/her father is evil and the head of a corporation?...possibly, because my memory sucks), but I guess I'll skip it when I get it because I generally hate displaced episodes. Higurashi is the only example I can think of where it worked well and that's just because LOL SHOCK VALUE.

Considering I have very limited access to internet that isn't dialup over the summer while I'm working, I've been trying to get a few series on bluray and I've heard universally good things about Gungrave. Is it worth going into it blind? I'm trying to save as much of my money as I can but, but I figure $30 for a good 25~ episode anime is worth it.
Last summer during that one super awesome sale I got Eden of the East (so worth it), Yu Yu Hakusho seasons 1 and 2 (SO F***ING WORTH IT), and Claymore (can't get past first couple episodes gah). After playing the completely terrible Chaos Wars, I was reminded of Gungrave's existence and my interest was piqued. So, B8. The Stand is absolutely the best book I've ever read; tons of great characters, interesting concept, writing that's not too hard to read, and pretty damn long (the uncut version is 1100+ pages long; the amount of deleted material alone was about 150000 words or 500 pages)

A in Library Science (1 hour, easy)
D in Physics 211 (3 hours, f***ing hard) C in the Physics lab that went along with that (1 hour, not that bad but everything rested on two exams and they were pretty hard) D in Calculus 201 (5 hours, not that hard but I kept completely nuking the tests though i got near perfect on quizzes) F in Organic Chem (3 hours, the first one, dear god someone help) dropped the Organic Chem lab that went along with that (1 hour, see above) my 3.2~ GPA dropped down to a 2.6 in a few days (fourth semester), I would have dropped ochem but them I'd have completely f***ed myself over by dropping down to 11 hours meaning I wouldn't be full time anymore, so yeah welp, goodbye whatever scholarships I still had. lost $10k per year last semester alone because of a D in Calc 200 and it looks like I'm on the road to losing everything else I had f***, someone tell me why am i a chemistry major and not like english or something now to ignore life doing nothing but playing VN's for a week or two until i get my summer job back -- http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2hsv6ataW1qfu8w8o1_1280.jpg KrahenProphet and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum. |

I'm really mad though because this one guy played Hakan once, and Zangief once, and he just mashed 360s during every block and hit. And I sadly lost to that crap twice and I'm so mad.
Solution: don't try to jab them constantly when they block, they are specifically trying to force you to do that a lot of the time giving them time to buffer while they block is absolutely asking them to punish that, I'm pretty sure nobody can jab Hakan/T Hawk/etc them completely out of command throw range <_< if you hit and they block and you think they're gonna command throw... stop attacking and throw or jump. if they're command throwing they won't be trying to tech the throw, and if you jump there's a good chance they'll whiff the command throw with some long recovery time, letting you lead into a combo with a hard-hitting air attack honestly, I can't count the number of times someone jabbed me once, walked up a step, and threw me as I was buffering my ultra as t hawk... before I switched the U2 anyways, because f*** yes antiair -- http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2hsv6ataW1qfu8w8o1_1280.jpg KrahenProphet and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum. |
