Of course, that would require actual work, whereas attempting to discredit the paragraph by taking a standard scientific term out of its scientific context is pretty effortless.

It's definitely more similar to XC1 than to X, such that I kind of consider X to be a spinoff. Overall, I don't think I'd say 2 is as good as 1, but 1 is one of my favourite games ever, so that shouldn't be taken as reflecting poorly on 2. It is still a very thoroughly enjoyable game.

I liked 2 a lot more than I liked one. The gameplay is just more fun. I also found that it was a lot better at getting you into the game where with 1 it just threw too many things at you so quickly and poorly explained that I was overwhelmed and just didnt do any of it.

The things it did better, it did a lot better, especially having significant, meaningful sidequests instead of the fetch quest spam XC1 had (which I didn't mind because I saw it as an excuse to wander around the gorgeous world, but it did make it hard to find the few awesome quests among the rest of them). I didn't find that the world was quite as fun to explore, though (although it's still awesome), and I didn't like the characters nearly as well as I did Shulk and Co. The anime tropes were also a bit heavy-handed (particularly the costumes for female Blades), which I wasn't a huge fan of.

A lot of that is pretty subjective, though. As far as more objective critiques go, they're very comparable games and I'd heartily recommend both.

Odyssey is also a must-have. A lot of that hype gets dismissed as people just being excited over it being the only good game on the system, but it is genuinely one of the absolute best games I have ever played. I can't remember the last time a game gave me such a consistent sense of joy and fun from start to finish. If you've ever enjoyed a platformer, definitely give it some serious consideration.

Once Octopath Traveler and Bayonetta 3 are out, it'll make more sense to get one.

Realistically, there isn't much reason to wait that long. Xenoblade's out now, Octopath's out in a week, and I have no reason to expect Bayonetta 3 to be canceled, so it's not like you stand to lose much by grabbing it now. At best, Bayonetta's a couple years out and the price will have dropped by then, but even then I don't imagine you'd save more than $50 or so. At least, that was my rationale for picking mine up on launch day, even though my library consisted exclusively of Zelda and Snipperclips for several months and I didn't touch the system again until Mario came out.

Speaking as somebody who spent pretty much the entirety of the primary and secondary schooling process waiting for the rest of the class to catch up to how quickly he learned things, I quite disagree. Boredom sucks, but if you're actually smart enough to have all that free time to be bored, you can use it to help other kids out and take some of the load off of the teacher. Teaching stuff is the best way to learn it anyway, so everybody wins in that case.

In extreme cases of intellectual disabilities? In my experience, the standard was to have additional personnel helping them out with specialized programs. That makes sense.

Because abortions are cheaper than arresting and incarcerating people (which you would also be paying for). Being the child of a single parent is one of the strongest single predictors of criminal behaviour, especially when that single parent is already in a lower-SES situation. Why, then, should you insist that somebody outside of a stable relationship and/or financial situation give birth to a child that you'll likely end up paying to support anyway instead of funding their abortion? The abortion is generally going to be the cheaper option, if you properly analyse the costs involved.

I do quite agree that abortion should be a last resort, and that as a society we should be working to minimize the number of abortions needed (particularly improving the accessibility of birth control and permanently purging the country of the grotesque failure that is abstinence-only sex ed), but so many pro-life people completely ignore what happens after birth (or during pregnancy, since they rather conspicuously fail to lobby for accessible, quality prenatal care, in professing their love for that unborn child) and look at abortion in a vacuum. That's not good.

"Ice cream" is accurate. Unless it's preceded by "soft serve," it's presumed that ice cream is not soft serve. "Regular ice cream" could indeed make people think of vanilla, you're right, but the "regular" isn't needed.

Presumably the main stipulation is "you need to actually get your work done," which I think is pretty reasonable. I can't say I've ever really understood having specific rules about time off or what you're allowed to do at work for office jobs like that. Apologies if I was unclear, I know there's a very important distinction between a terminally ill person seeking a less painful death and a depressed person committing suicide, and that the legalization efforts are focused entirely on the former situation without trying to normalize the latter. Suicide as a consequence of mental illness is still a very serious problem, and the emphasis should always remain on alleviating the suffering that is making people want to die. A competent wish to die, however, should be respected.

If you were to hypothetically find an animal species that reproduced asexually and therefore had offspring that were genetically identical to it, would those offspring not be considered individual organisms afforded the same ethical consideration as sexual offspring?
