I do have a question about that one though. Will it include ALL assist trophies from Brawl onward, or just the ones in SSBU? And if it does include all, will it still include Little Mac, Dark Samus and Isabelle?

Cut Brawl and 4 assist trophies will be included. Not sure about those three characters but theyll most likely be included for completionists sake.

Ill try to have gaps in between rounds. Ill also try not to start the 2 save portion too early this time as that was a big problem with the Kirby competition. I feel like we might get a bigger audience this time though since more people have played Smash than Kirby. Im a little less knowledgeable on Smash though, so I wont be able to make detailed descriptions or anything like what I did with the Kirby Save My.

2nd: Mirror

Mirror is an ability that debuted in Super Star.

This is the closest thing Kirby can to a cloning ability. With it, Kirby can form copies of himself for a few short seconds for a wider range of attack. He can also reflect back projectiles coming his way.

After a 20 year absence, it returned in Planet Robobot alongside Jet.

That wouldve been it for Mirror had it not been for the power of Mirror fans, as Mirror won round 1 of the 25th Anniversary copy ability poll and was added to Kirby Battle Royale as a playable ability due to this win. (For those wondering, Sleep won round 2. Yes, it was added as a useable ability there too.)

1st: Wing

Wing is an ability that debuted in Super Star.

With it, Kirby now has feathers, and instead of hovering like he normally does, he can flap his wings. The default B move is the weak, short ranged feather gun, but Kirby also has devastating dives and blows to unleash upon any enemy that dares to try and ruin his flight.

It returned in Return to Dream Land. It was removed in Planet Robobot, but was added back in Star Allies, meaning its in 3 of the 4 games.

And that concludes the ability descriptions! I wouldve loved it if Mirror won since its my second-favorite ability(only behind Hi-Jump), but its really cool how Wing Kirby proved that he can take to the stars! Congratulations on your win!

Now, as for my look back on this competition This was my first Save My, so I made a lot of mistakes. But something I did manage to accomplish was that I pulled through and completed all 55 rounds. I have a huge problem with starting things and never finishing them, so Im proud of that.

Meanwhile, on the poll, March 1st received the majority of the vote so thats when Save my Smash Assist Trophy will start its first round. Looks like this competition will be held across the Spring months, a time of warmer weather and less stress.

3rd: Yo-Yo

Yo-Yo is an ability that debuted in Super Star.

This ability has Kirby use the famous toy for beating up his opponents. Dont let the looks fool you, it has plenty of powerful punches to its name.

It made a return in Star Allies, where it was given a move where Kirby can walk the dog. It is also available to play as in Kirby Fighters 2.

(Ok. Wing really surprised me here in three ways.

1. When we reached the top 5, I was expecting it to place 5th or 4th. Instead, it managed to make it to the top 3.
2. When we reached the top 5, I was sure of a Mirror vs Yo-Yo finale. That almost happened, but Wing struck again.
3. It totally looked like Wing was going to get eliminated this round initially, having only 2 saves compared to Mirrors and Yo-Yos 5, but then suddenly a bunch of saves for it came swooping in, and it was down to Mirror and Yo-Yo.

So yeah. Yo-Yo is out. This means Mirror and Wing have made it to the finale!

In addition, Smash won the tiebreaker poll by a long shot, so the poll on the next thread will determine when that competition will start. 4th: Artist

Artist is a newer ability, debuting in Star Allies.

With it, Kirby gets creative and makes paintings and sculptures for attacks.

This ability also appears in Kirby Fighters 2 alongside Staff.

It is not to be confused with Paint, a one-use ability from Super Star.

(With this elimination, all three remaining abilities are from Super Star.

As for the poll results Save my Kirby 64 Power Combo placed last with a still impressive 2 votes. Save my Gen 1 Pokmon placed 3rd at 3 votes. Makes sense, its kind of too large of a Save My to be continuously enjoyable all the way through.

I expected Save my Smash Assist Trophy to win the poll. What I was not expecting was for Golden Sun to place higher than dead-last. I didnt even think it would get a vote at all. But it got 4. So did Smash. Which means instead of a poll for what month I should begin the Save My, Ill have to make a tiebreaker poll. Hopefully it wont result in a second tie.

I would honestly say in regards to hosting another Save My contest, to at least give yourself a bit of a break in-between contests. Its more for your own sanity as youve been cranking out topics one after another. Youre going to get prone to burning out.

5th: Ninja

Ninja was an ability that debuted in Super Star.

With it, Kirby could launch ninja stars, strike with a sword, hide in mystery, and even cling onto walls. It is an ability with a lot of variety.

After a decade long absence, it made a surprise reappearance in Squeak Squad. In this game only, Ninja has the unique property of being able to walk on water.

After that, it appeared in all Return to Dream Land era games, including the Kirby Fighters series and Kirby Battle Royale.

(I dont have much to say here. Ninja is a great ability, but it had been struggling these past few rounds, so its unsurprising it got eliminated.

The poll was very close, but ultimately yes won out by just one vote, so I shall be hosting another Save My after this one concludes.

6th: Water

Water was one of four new abilities in Return to Dream Land, the others being Leaf, Spear, and Whip. However, it was meant to be introduced much earlier, in the cancelled Kirby game for the GameCube. It is also shown in the Kirby anime.

With this ability, Kirby manipulates the element of water, using it to surf, create geysers, and form rainbows.

It is one of three abilities to be cut in Triple Deluxe, the others being Hi-Jump and Tornado. However, this ability returned in Star Allies. It is even playable in Kirby Fighters 2.

Poison from Planet Robobot could be considered a rip-off of this ability.

(This elimination is sad. Water did so well during the 4 save section! Alas, that could not continue for 5 saves and did anyone else notice the H users (-hotdogturtle, hombad46, hylianknight3, Hbthebattle) tended to save this ability? Funny coincidence.

Also, this leaves Artist from Star Allies as our only ability not from Super Star. I was hoping wed have a more varied top 5, but oh well.

7th: Smash Bros.

Smash Bros., originally known as Smash, is a unique copy ability that is featured in three games; Kirby and The Amazing Mirror, Kirbys Dream Collection Special Edition, and Kirby: Planet Robobot. It is based on the moveset of Kirby in Super Smash Bros., a fighting/party game series that has its first two games developed by HAL(although Amazing Mirror, the game where this ability is first found, was developed by Flagship).

In Amazing Mirror, you get this ability from Master Hand, one of SSBs original characters, turned into a mid-boss. Master Hand is also a regular boss alongside Crazy Hand. In Dream Collection, there is no enemy that provides this ability due to the games format. In Planet Robobot, you can only get this ability through amiibo and Copy Essences, meaning there is no enemy that provides this ability.

This ability also lacks a hat, one of the few that still do so.

(This is bittersweet. This was the final Flagship ability, and now its eliminated. Mini was the very first elimination, and then we lost Missile. Then the three normal Squeak Squad abilities all got eliminated in a row which was very sad to see but also a funny coincidence. Then Cupid was the first to go during the two save section. Magic was eliminated during the 20s which left Smash as the final Amazing Mirror ability, then the final Flagship ability as a whole when Ghost got eliminated shortly thereafter.

The Flagship games were the bridge in between the classic era and RtDL era when every other Kirby game in the 2000s was either a remake or not a main series game. They tend to get overlooked, or, in Squeak Squads case, disliked. Even more bittersweet is that Squeak Squad was Flagships final game. Flagship shut down and was absorbed into Capcoms main operations in 2007, less than a year after Squeak Squads release.

While I dont have a particular love for the Smash ability or anything, I do have an undying love for the Flagship games (At least Squeak Squad. Its been years and years since Ive played Amazing Mirror so Ive got to replay that at some point.), so I thought Id pay tribute here.

Mass Attack could be considered a spiritual successor to the Flagship games due to some reappearances of characters as well as the return of treasure chests, this time containing medals. Ive been replaying it as of the time Im making this post, and the game is a lot worse than I remember(aside from the extras which are still great). Complaints I have with the game include camera issues, the rainbow medals being required to beat the game, overly long stages, too many stages in a level on top of THAT, taking no damage in every stage being required to 100% complete the game, unskippable cutscenes, tedious mid-bosses in half the stages, and controlling 10 Kirbys being so frustrating that I intentionally try to kill my Kirbys so that I have LESS to control and get stressed out over, which likely wasnt the developers intention. Theres some positives here, such as the art style, incredible soundtrack by the composer of MOTHER 3, the extras, and the Dedede Resort attractions, but the cons sadly outweigh the pros here, particularly in the gameplay department, and I just cant get myself to like the game. Oh well, theres still Amazing Mirror and Squeak Squad.

Oh, and now we have only 6 abilities. And 4 of those are from Super Star. You guys really like Super Star. No surprise there. It is the most popular Kirby game after all.

8th: Beam

Beam is arguably THE most notable of the copy abilities, being the first ability Kirby can ever get in Kirbys Adventure, with a Waddle Doo being one of the first enemies in Stage 1 of Vegetable Valley.

Beam is an ability with a long range, which makes it helpful for reaching things such as bomb blocks.

In Dream Land 2 and 3, Rick + Spark produces a result identical to Beam. This is required for a Rainbow Drop in Dream Land 2.

Unusually, Beam has not been confirmed yet for Forgotten Land.

Beam Kirby is featured in the logo for Super Star. This even applies to the original Japanese version, Super Deluxe.

It took full advantage of Super Stars multi-move feature, having plenty of techniques.

When multi-move abilities returned in the Flagship games, Fighter returned as well. It has been in most Kirby games since then, although it has yet to be confirmed for Forgotten Land.

10th: Tornado

Tornado is an ability that debuted in Adventure.

It has remained relatively the same over the years. Kirby spins out of control and causes his own little storm.

It is present in several games, including spin-offs. However, it was one of three abilities present in Return to Dream Land to be cut in Triple Deluxe, the other two being Hi-Jump and Water. It was present in Battle Royale, though.

The latest trailer for Forgotten Land has CONFIRMED this ability will once again be in a main series game after a decade long absence. It is one of 11 abilities currently confirmed for the game.

(Im really, really surprised Tornado made it all the way to 10th place. I thought it wouldve been eliminated back in the 20s, but no. It managed to beat out abilities such as Sword and Hammer. Thats incredible. Tornado was truly the underdog of these past few rounds, and shall be missed.

11th: Wheel

Wheel was an ability that debuted in Kirbys Adventure. It tends to make inconsistent appearances, similar to Needle.

With this ability, Kirby transforms into a tire and speeds along the platforms, running over most enemies. If he knocks into something, he stops.

Its remained mostly the same over the years, with the main difference being that it was later given a jump.

In Super Star, Kirby can hop on a Wheelie and become a Wheelie Rider, which is an improved version of Wheel. The climax of Revenge of Meta Knight involves riding a Wheelie off the sinking Halberd to get to safety.

This ability was last seen in the 3DS games.

(Another unsurprising elimination, although I am surprised that Wheel made it this far.

12th: Hammer

Hammer is a mainstay copy ability, debuting in Kirbys Adventure and appearing in many Kirby games including spin-offs.

Arguably the most powerful ability, it deals a lot of damage with just one hit, so naturally, a lot of hits means a ton of damage real quick. Its a tad on the slow side, but its not really much of an issue. Unless youre playing Kirby Clash, that is!

(Not too surprised by this elimination, but at the same time I was expecting a different ability to go out.
