My Gamestop isn't doing a special release, so I'd need to wait until 11am Thursday to pick it up from them. Earliest physical option for most people might be Wal-Mart (assuming it's in stock). I'm hoping my closest Wal-Mart will let me buy it tomorrow night - maybe I can give em some shpiel about 9pm our time being Thursday on the east coast, I dunno.

It's buffering every few seconds for me. Tested my connection and my DL/UL speed is still fast, so it's just the site.

For $40, it better add more than that.

I just picked it up for the first time in over a year to fool around. Zipped around the world to get my Reduvia to +9 without beating any main bosses. Maybe I'll use this as my DLC character - but I have several that can conceivably work.

Oh, and I do actually have a file specifically dedicated to this DLC - it has every single site of grace and unique item pickup (apart from super low drop rate weapons) through the snow area, but I didn't trigger any point of no return stuff just in case.

With all the talk of Nintendo wanting to prevent another Wii U/GameCube misstep, I really doubt they'll gamble on their next launch being carried by Metroid. At this point, they have a good five franchises (Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Smash) that would do a much better job in that role.

That would guarantee Switch becomes the best selling game console of all time.

I disliked how TotK's world seemed less "natural." The Shrines all emitted magical green swirls in the sky, and the map stations were basically giant bat signals. The mess of lights made the world look messy and un-aesthetic. I much prefer the gentle orange glow of BotW's shrines.

It's a very minor gripe, but one I've never heard anyone mention before.

Realo has a few hundred thousand followers on Tiktok, I believe. I follow him on Facebook (maybe instagram too) but I think TikTok is his bread and butter. He posts about real estate and Vegas tips aimed at both tourists and locals who might be looking for cool lesser known places.

And seriously, no one's mentioned Ed Bellis? I thought he was a published author.

Gambit the loner wouldn't be eager to accept a piggyback, and fuckin Wolverine of all people wouldn't be offering one. It also doesn't make sense in terms of combat strategy or either of their abilities - maybe if it was Colossus or something, but not Wolverine.

Coupon is broken. You can do two trades a day and come out way ahead of the $4 million in no time at all. For about ten minutes of work a day.

Does the 80% discount include stocks and real estate? Anyone can buy and sell stock, and having the ability to sell at 4-5x the price you just bought it for... can obviously generate millions of dollars a day, assuming you don't get arrested for it.

Rings didn't mean as much to the GOAT debate (at least in football) until Brady entered the league, which coincided with the time the internet took over as the ultimate debate ground for sports. Before that, when most of these discussions were relegated to television and print media, I saw just as much (if not more) GOAT accolades showered on Jim Brown and Lawrence Taylor as I did on Joe Montana.

I wouldn't argue with him, and he's a product of modern wrestling, where the travel schedule isn't as rigorous.

The wrestling grind from the "old days" reads like the most grueling job in the entertainment industry. Those guys had the road schedule of truck drivers, an intense gym schedule that they needed to maintain no matter how banged up they were... and then there was the actual nightly performance. It's no wonder so many of them were beyond fucked up and died young.

Yeah, the only difference between soccer and football with ads is that football ads are loud and in your face. Soccer ads are subtle, but they're always visible.

I think most people find ad breaks - actual commercials - to be far more obtrusive and annoying than sponsored jerseys or background graphics. The average soccer game has about ten minutes of commercials, all during halftime. The average football game has about five times as much. The "only" difference is a very significant one in this case.

Maybe, but SB commercials have been culturally relevant for ages, at least a quarter century. I remember teachers talking to us students about them in elementary school, which would have been mid-to-late 90s.

To broaden that topic a bit - every time I watch a big football game, I'm reminded why soccer will probably never become big here. Everything about football just perfectly ties into (and has probably influenced) the American traditions of consumerism and excess. Major US corporations probably shudder at the idea of soccer taking over, and suddenly being forced to pump their advertising through a sport where the games are shorter and ad breaks can only be done at halftime.

If it sounds like I'm being strange and edgy, it's because I am. I love the actual sport of football (played it in high school), but the culture that surrounds it often makes me feel gross and self-loathing, like my brain just ate a gigantic brain-donut or something.

As a CPA... essentially yes. Even given our current tax law system, at least 50% of filers have returns simple enough that the IRS can just automatically do them.

Pretty much. I expect him to be far less visible in the gaming community (no attending conventions or other publicized events) for the next few years, but he'll still make videos and earn a living. One day he'll say "the charity was audited and the IRS found nothing wrong" and he'll try to re-emerge in public life.

I've never actually heard anyone refer to the Shaq/Kobe Lakers as a superteam before. Shaq joined the Lakers as their centerpiece during Kobe's rookie season. There was certainly hype surrounding Kobe, but he was still an 18-year-old rookie who only started a handful of games that season. Obviously, things worked out, and Kobe grew into one of the game's best players alongside Shaq. But when I think of "superteam," I think of cases where an established star joins a team that has other established stars. The 96-97 Lakers definitely weren't that.

insane yeah. But I miss those days. Arguing over the iraq war is better than fighting over maga politics.

I'm Iraqi-American and I'm sorry but this is textbook privilege. I was a high schooler during the Iraq War and was both repulsed and threatened by the jingoism. I knew the war would be a terrible idea, but I didn't have the courage to speak my mind because I didn't want the other kids who were swept up in it to label me a traitor or a terrorist.

I'm not hand-waving the threat of MAGA. I certainly recognize it as a real threat to the future of our country, but I find the idea of "longing" for those days because the online arguments were easier to be disconnected and honestly hurtful.

Change Snow White to Cinderella.

You guys have convinced me. Cinderella is almost as old as Snow White (1950 vs 1937), but she probably has an even more recognizable look, and there's no denying the impact of her castle serving as THE LOGO. She also has a story more fitting to be retold and far less offensive for modern audiences. And this last point might feel a tad ridiculous, but she's also the first major princess to receive a wardrobe change, which became a signature of most Disney Princesses from Aurora through Elsa. Cinderella was the first to accessorize, her glass slipper serving as the iconic cherry on top.
