I have a background in martial arts, but if you hit some random person in the head, you could kill them. It's a really bad idea all around. You don't know what kind of medical issues they have.

If you have to, hit them in the gut, a good punch there will end things very quickly. If you know how to put your weight behind it and you're decently strong they'll crumple like paper no matter how big they are. Pretty safe, too.

My fight or flight response is modem noises. One time a bunch of angry dogs jumped the fence and ran at me and I just looked at them and walked away. In elementary school a kid ran up to me and punched me because I was destroying him in dodgeball and I just looked at him, then he stormed off. When I play video games with friends or by myself I have no reaction to any danger and I usually die first. If I'm playing Rust and get attacked I just stand there and guilt trip the attacker for killing me while I die.

I vaguely remember someone threatening me at one point and I didn't reciprocate it at all, and they just got frustrated and told me to gtfo of there.

I don't know if I freaked you out or something. I get these e-mails too, trust me, they don't mean anything.

There are bot farms dedicated to doing nothing but this. emails accounts are not secret information and they never were designed to be. It's just trying "password1234" on a random e-mail it found.

I... was waiting for something to happen. Nothing did. I even slept normally. If anything I was slightly more anxious than normal. Any symptoms I had were overshadowed by not waking up hungover, and those were gone in 2 days.

I don't think 10 standard drinks in a day is enough to cause serious withdrawal? I even looked up some studies and found only 10% of the heaviest drinking patients in rehab even have serious symptoms. I think my other withdrawal was caused by other drugs I quit at the same time.

I would have posted earlier but I thought it was just delayed. Nope.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are a really heavy drinker tbh, like drinking every hour of the day. But you can work out how many standard drinks you consume in a day and go from there. I just had 3 hours of getting as drunk as I could daily.

This might not be ethical but if you have insurance just go to rehab anyways and don't pay your bill. That's what I did because they tried to dick me around with incompetent billing practices. I have an outstanding bill of over $10k for my rehab. If it hits my credit, it hits my credit. I'm still sober and I still got what I needed.

My only regret is not stealing from rehab, tbh.

I still am having mild "cravings", but these are mostly habit. Like, now I'm just bored at nighttime.

You have nothing to worry about since your authenticator is set up. Some guy in some country used a DB of leaked passwords with your account, but failed because you have 2fa.

Benzos will all but cure the withdrawal symptoms after quitting cold turkey but are administered carefully by a professional. In a better world this wouldn't cost a small fortune.

good luck, hopefully you can find something really captivating to do. the only period where I was consistently sober on weekdays in the last 5 years was when I was grinding competitive games daily.

nowadays I am too busy with work and unfortunately I find that beer makes overtime a lot more enjoyable.

I'm fine being sober if I'm not actively feeling helpless about things

You should see a doctor about this. 10+ drinks a day is pretty intense alcoholism. I'm no expert but it would probably be wise to get medical advice from your doctor, especially since you say you've had serious withdrawals before.

If you're from the US and have to pay for a GP visit, just do it.

Sorry, he would probably refer me to an outpatient rehab which would cost me $1500 just for the benzos.

Heck, the same is true of home microwaves. I had one die recently in a way that made me suspect a fuse blew, so I looked up how/if it was possible to change a microwave fuse. The first step was "This is super dangerous seriously just call an electrician but if you insist on doing it anyway here's how," followed by like 90% of the procedure being everything you have to set up to be able to safely discharge the capacitor. Needless to say, I opted to just get the landlord to replace it.

Oh yeah microwave transformers are used often in DIY projects and get people killed all the time. It's pretty irresponsible to promote using them to the general population.

I was at work yesterday and was getting extremely dizzy, confused, and nauseous, and I felt like I was going to collapse. My gut is bloated. I'm showing signs of liver failure, and the bags under my eyes are so large that if I look down my eyes close.

I'm actually a much heavier drinker than I thought I was, I worked out that I'm at >10 drinks a day.

Last time it took me 2 days before I got serious withdrawals. I don't crave the alcohol, I just use it to deal with trauma. No money for rehab or benzos, tapering off hasn't worked in the past.

I will document how absolutely shitty I feel in the following days.

Idk what the point of this argument is but a live service game is centered around microtransactions, they use psychological tricks like making the game progress extremely slow and flash an in-game shop where you can progress 20 hours of grinding for $50. The point of a live service game is to be engaging, but not "fun". They only need to keep people engaged. Suicide Squad, Apex Legends, Fortnite, all self identify as live service. They either go off or become completely obsolete if their manipulative formula is not viral, because ultimately they're not trying to be art or fun. They either manipulate successfully or don't. They're an investor's wet dream and a game studio's failure to maintain creative control.

They create gamers who think that they're too old to enjoy games anymore, meanwhile they recently put 3000 hours into Runescape and nothing else.

Plaworld is a game you can play offline and it has no microtransactions. You can't just call every slop game a live-service game. If you think this is a live service game, then so is Risk of Rain, Valheim, Smash Bros.

The game isn't live service. Players are concerned that it will turn into a live service game. You're just wrong. Live service is a real term used by companies when they make games. Releasing an early access game doesn't make it live service.

Live service games are an economic model more than they are a game, their entire purpose is to keep you logging in daily and perpetually giving into microtransactions. The only people who like them are greedy shareholders who want to scrape the bottom of the dumpster.

Palworld doesn't even have microtransactions, it's nothing like a live service game, I have no idea what you people are on about. Having a roadmap doesn't make you a live service game. Weed freaks me out, it costs half your income, and it almost definitely creates flat earthers. If you grow your own you can expect a visit from your civil servants.

It's not the worst drug out there but it's definitely overrated imo.

Wireless gets better as time goes on, I wouldn't even worry about it anymore.

Back in 2008 I felt like I was taking crazy pills because everyone was talking about bluetooth like it was the next great thing, but it was so glitchy it worked 30% of the time. Phones would use bluetooth on the same chip that handled wifi, so you couldnt do both at the same time.

Your health is certainly the most important thing. No amount of money can undo the years cigarettes will take.

I can't comment on your drinking because I am currently a smoking alcoholic, haha. But I can't help but think saving up some money would help us.

It stinks, it kills you, and it's unattractive. You've got more willpower than me. Think about all the things you're grateful about having quit, rather than what you miss about it. Aren't you glad you don't have to stand outside 10 minutes at a time? At least, that's what people tell me is the best way to stay off cigarettes, one of the hardest drugs to quit.

Also, look into fermenting your own booze. For $5 of cheap apple juice you can get a gallon of sparkling cider, if you keep a couple fermenting kits running at all times you never run out. $27 each on Amazon.

People feel weird about investing in a bad habit. However, if you continue to do the genocidal drug, you might as well save money. A pack in my area costs $10, and I need a new one every 4 days or so. (30/4)*$10= $75 a month, or $900 a year.

Alternatively, you buy a rolling machine, and pack it yourself. I bought 1 lb of tobacco for $16, that's enough for 600 cigarettes, or 3 cartons. A carton costs $100, and 3 of them cost $300. That means when you roll, past the initial investment, you only pay 5% of what you did previously, bringing your habit down to ~$3.75 a month, or essentially free. You'll save a ridiculous amount of money. If you quit the following month you would still save money. Once you quit, you can give your roller to someone else.

Rolling has the same filter and contents as a store bought pack, it's just sold as "pipe tobacco" in bags.

Maybe with that with money saved you'll have more resources and less stress that will make it easier to quit. If you're going to kill yourself slowly, then don't fork over your life savings to do it.

I really wish Blazor amounted to more. C# is the best language I've ever used, but no one takes it seriously as a front end, and I'm finally starting to accept that I can't use it exclusively. It definitely has serious flaws, Blazor server side rendering is a bit limited by the speed of light. Who could have seen that coming.

Here's to hoping Blazor Webassembly takes off. Nothing stopping Chrome from just caching the runtime at some point.

I also have very bad unmedicated (diagnosed) ADHD, so I get hyper-fixated on learning new languages but not applying for jobs. But right now I have someone else helping me stay focused. He's actually going over my resume to improve it, and I'm learning Angular JS, which is what this job is looking for. He says I have about a 1/3 chance of getting this job with his reference.

After Googling it, your engine burns off a quart of oil every 3000 miles. But none of the dirt that gets into your oil will ever be removed this way, and will cause your engine to break down eventually if you don't drain your old oil. I would get that taken care of soon.

All you need is a spanner and a drip pan. And the filter only costs ~$5 as well.

Hide it? If I bought something so dumb I would be proud of it and put it on full display.

I'm into software/electric engineering, auto-repair is a different kind of hard, but a lot of the same "just follow the rules" stuff.

Like getting sweaty and frustrated kind of hard. But I'm into it. I want to do all car repairs I can do from now on. I like the aesthetic of working on a big metal thing, like you don't just have god powers to copy and paste things.
