I think the advice for trying out materia at earlier levels is pretty good. Hero's right in that its either use it or throw away these materia 6's, its not like you're going to grind for them.

will it -really- matter if you don't use them on 70 gear? not at all, but it'll teach you how the system works. Probably not how overmelding works, since you likely won't be using any gear that allows it (does dungeon gear?), but the actual process anyway.

i'd be less worried about the gil cost and more the time cost of constantly slotting them in and out of gear that you change in 2 levels anyway. for almost no benefit.

I also agree with wasting time removing materia, I don't even do that on current equipment. So if you slot materia in, just pretend that materia is gone forever from your inventory!

hunt trains are definitely the way to do it, i just don't feel like it anymore. i still have like 1000 of the items for materia 7 and 8 in my inventory

i actually walk around with the thrillseeker title i got forever ago even though i'm like 1700 a ranks away from the tiger. but everyone thinks i have the tiger since a ranks are easier to get.

I used to do Leveling, Alliance Raid, Normal Raid, Main Scenario Duty Roulette, and beast tribes every day to level all my off classes. Now I'm struggling to just do one DR a day to slowly work towards relics.

yeah i forgot to mention the magic secret to this one - if you don't feel like instance hopping for castrum pops (and who can blame you!), you can just use /hudlayout and go afk for an hour between runs. Or, like yourself and others mentioned, get memories from CEs

yeah, its definitely worth doing castrum over a billion ARR raids, you only need to do it 3 times per weapon.

you can either instance hop to find castrum pops faster, or just afk in an instance with /hudlayout on. either way, it beats the snot out of ARR raids.

I actually popped into pyros randomly last night, and had a random warm fuzzy feeling as i saw shout chat start lighting up asking people to prep skoll, and a discussion happened about if it was even possible (no one prepped skoll) (it would have been very possible) (i contributed to the problem by randomly spawning NMs really far away, and then didn't even stay to do them as i moved on to make the next one pop) (i'm both the problem and the solution)

It's really not harder than like the end Stormblood or Shadowbringers trials (or heck even Titania which I still see groups wipe on occasionally), which are in Trial Roulette!

theres a monthly fee, but i believe you can get a 'trial edition' which is the entire main game and first full expansion with unlimited playtime until you spend money on the game

once you spend money on the game though, you gotta pay the monthly fee

for everything but ARR, they limit you to 3 quests a day (except bonuses once you rank up), and its pretty much 30 days of dailies

I -think- it'll be 30 days if you do the three highest level quests you can, but i could be wrong.

if you're gonna grind beast tribes, wait until you're level like 58 so monsters stop aggroing you. You can thank me later.
