For anything that says 'Wait Time Longer Than 30 Minutes', don't ever expect to actually get in. That's the game's way of telling you it has no idea what's going to happen.

It depends. Sometimes if you're queuing for something that isn't especially popular to directly queue for anymore, such as, say, Dun Scaith, you'll eventually catch a bunch of people who'd just queued for the Alliance Raid roulette, even though it might have initially said it'd take over 30 minutes. For Odin though... yeah, that's an unfortunate case for the reasons mentioned. There are much more obscure trials unlocked through sidequests that are still in the roulette pool, and yet Urth's Fount isn't.

Also, as an addendum to the MCH guide, you can fit in five Heat Blasts in the Hypercharge window if you spam quickly enough. Not sure why I put only four. Technically you can get six if your fingers are perfect, but that also requires your latency to be perfect as well, and there's a reason they had to change Ninja mudras.

Looking over your MCH post, one thing I'd change is that you don't actually need to wait to 100 meter to use Rook Autoturret. It's easier in some aspects to do so but also easier to overcap battery this way if you're learning. And it's better practice to get in the habit of trying to use it once a minute, which means using it generally around the time you're using Reassemble + Drill. Maybe it's easier to catch more buffs in suboptimal groups if you wait but I personally find the "summon generally around Reassemble timing" to be super comfy.

Queen doesn't lose anything from being used at less than max meter, but Rook Autoturret is garbage and has a chance of losing a hit if you use it at 50/70/90. So the optimal use of Rook is to only use it at 60/80/100, which makes waiting for 100 good, but a bad habit. And ofc this barely matters in normal content.

I just slowly got all my classes to 80 with daily roulettes

Also: don't neglect beast tribes, especially post 70. Pixies give sooo much exp

Finally got some gear that really comes together enough that I'll want to keep the look for while. Wish I could find a better hat, since the red hat you start off with here is just a dalmund red dyed pirate hat. Hopefully not too long.

I'm betting to toggle with delad, but it won't let me target since she nor actually in a party. I can softkock, but when I go to heal it just held me.

Seeing someone recommending a gear score of 220?? Guess being level 60 isn't enough! Mine is 129.

Lmao yeah are you still mostly in Ironworks? You can buy Shire gear now, from Idyllshire. If you don't know where that is you should really do the MSQ!

Though, it still be plenty doable without the absolute best gear, so I'm not really sure.

I'm doing nothing but MSQ! I just hit 60 like 4 levels early. I'm out of Ironworks, but am. Just using the better gear I got from MSQ, and yep, no idea where that is lol.

Also, there is a good RDM hat in the job gear at 70. I believe it's the set the trainer is wearing, if you can hold on until then. The 50 set is a crappy knockoff of it.

After a quick search I may have identified your problem.

So there are multiple types of aoes in that fight. You might have to make sure you don't bait any normal aoes on her, because she might not dodge them very well.

But there's also a stack marker which I realize you absolutely have not ever seen before because it first shows up in a level 60 trial you obviously are unable to see! It looks like a big orange + sign that pulses on someone. You actually have to share it with her, or else she'll get destroyed.

Although, the stack marker isn't even explained in that trial so it's also a big lol, but what happens there is that the one person who doesn't know what it is runs away and eats shit and the other 7 people are totally fine. The fact that stack markers are never explained to new players in-game is a big meme in this game.

It actually did occur earlier in the Red Mage quest line as well. I guess the issue is I have to stay away from her at all times when he's not using it, and go back to her when he is?

But yes, this was never actually tooltip EXPLAINED, its just red mage teacher's chat window text box saying "come to my side!"

That said, probably still need to come back to this later considering the recommended gear score.

Oh yeah I think I'm on the final run of 3.0? It's MSQ level 58 so I can only assume. Obviously it's not as long as 2.0. but that's to its benefit with how much tighter it is.

What stands out the most is how much better the map design is. Yeah its a little annoying at first with limited movement, but fewer, larger maps is a lot better than tons of smaller maps seperated by screens.

The raids have also been a lot better, but I knew that was coming. So many of those 2.0 raids were full of pointless winding dead ends. There's time for exploration, and a raid it ain't, lol.

One thing that was in the ARR post-game raids I also hope is done for is that thing in one of the crystal tower raids where everyone split into one of 3 teleporters of their choosing to fight a miniboss, and it doesn't do anything to even the teams. When I ran that one one of the teleporters only had 4 guys go on it, it was a mess. Would much rather something like that force teams.

They do this in the 24-man raids starting at 70, but there's nothing at 60 nearly as messy as the Atomoses in Crystal Tower.

Now that you are in the MMO hole, the 8-man and 24-man endgame content are the raids, the regular 4-man content are dungeons. I actually think the raids are better in ARR, but the dungeons are better in HW.

Anyway, just finished Heavensward. Took a long break after I did 2.3 last year and started again a few days ago with Endwalker hype and wanting to finish it before LtM overtakes me haha.

Anyway, the story content in the Heavensward patches is real good! Just felt I should say that.

The great thing about this game being an MMO is that it's nearing a decade old yet I haven't absorbed any spoilers through osmosis because I was actively not paying attention, lol.

Well, except for the big spoiler that it turns out the player character fill in dude in the trailers and openings is actually a character in the game, but I feel like that one was everywhere for a bit.

Well the 24-mans have much better designed fights that hold up better than Crystal Tower (well, the first one falls apart about as bad) and the important thing about the 8-man raids is that they actually have a playable normal mode so <_<

I still haven't figured out that fight against the magician guy in Crystal Tower, I should really look it up. I've run it 3 times now and still completely lost.

Also I finally fell off the edge in a fight yesterday. Disengangaged right off the edge of the Bismark fight in style. Damn muscle memory, lol.

The Bahamut content may be the best content of any kind in the first two expansions which is why it being so inaccessible is so criminal lol.

Yeah Heavensward is awesome. People talk up Shadowbringers a lot, but I think HW is about as good.

There's a lot of bullshit but the only mechanic that still matters is that some players get frozen, the people who get frogged go around unfreezing MOST of them, and one or two people will remain frozen and the party will hide behind an icecube.

There's some other stuff with the adds that people tend to ignore and just kill/ignore the adds as needed. There's a debuff that explodes that healers are supposed to cleanse and don't and just heal through it. Sycrus Tower is extremely trivialized by gear.

I don't want to go reading guide before every fight but I kind of wish there was just a word doc with a list of fights where you're supposed to ignore the adds.

Because BOY do I always swap to the adds.

Yeah, the other unintended side effect of the move to the London studio is that said studio somehow has the ability to nab fairly high profile actors to do VA work. That leads to FFXIV popping up on the filmography for certain Game of Thrones actors.

Feelings regarding Stormblood are all over the place, but I've literally never seen anyone say they prefer to 3.0 or 5.0.

I may be rembering wrong, but when Austin Walker was playing this on Waypoints I seem to recall everyone saying he would love it once he got to Stormblood, but I don't think that ended up panning out. Other than that, yeah that seems to be the vibe.
