first dying light was too scary for me tbh especially during the night sequences. hated being chased by parkour zombies. there were a few times when i had to just alt tab out of the game because i was in a tight spot lol

dying light 2 is supposed to have less zombies so i'd prob find it more enjoyable

this sort of thing is always the interesting problem for me as a software developer. What might one player be doing that causes more bugs? Maybe its an upgrade they took that has some weird interaction with the world. Maybe theyre more inclined to get into fights than to stealth. Maybe theyre rushing and fast forward through scenes that are hiding loading. etc

in any case Im inclined to believe there are bugs but that not all players will experience the same ones

A thing that discourages me that I had no idea about previously is this UV meter thing. At worst it sounds like something that will hamper gameplay, at best it could be a minor inconvenience that makes you wonder why they bothered putting it in in the first place

It absolutely was better than Dead Island lol. Parkour is the reason why it was lauded like it was, and that is a huge upgrade to Dead Island's movement. I thought Dying Light was absolutely miles above that shitty Dead Island.

Sure, it was all those things,(except the part about the setting, I like a world that isnt too colorful, makes it seem more like a real place)but, imho, it was tons of fun. I played it four times, GTA:SA was the last game I played through so many times.

I absolutely disagree that the levels are copy pasted and the game feels the same from start to finish, whoa. I've never read an opinion like this that I disagree with completely. The two maps are WILDLY different from one another and both play differently. Phew.

Yes, they are. Clearly. Old Town is massively more vertical and contains full city blocks. The Slums contain a lot of wide open areas and small houses to scramble over. Both play differently, one requiring liberal use of the grapple hook and the other requiring stamina to run through open fields.

Like, did we play the same game? I can't fathom how someone says the slums are the same as old town. Add in The Following which is massively more open and throws in a car to upgrade and play with and each area is distinct. I remember hating the hotel / resort area and FINALLY enjoying Dead Island when I got to the city, but by then I just hated everything else about it.

It matters if you enjoyed the story, like I and many others did. There was way more to the story than the way you're simplifying it.

I'm curious if any of what happened with Kyle Crane will have any effects on Dying Light 2.

You spent way too much time there. I was extremely bored of the setting by the time I made it to the city, and that is probably because moving around was a chore. When I finally started making my way through the city, the human enemies were real junk and it turned into a shooter which didn't have the best mechanics, as well as the map not being the best and filled with walls and annoyances to maneuver around. I find the parkour greatly opened up Dying Light and made it more fun to get around places, including crowded city streets and regular suburbia.

It's clear we are going to agree to disagree and that's fine. I never played Dead Island Remastered or the sequel. I do remember liking the class system a bit more than the every man of Dying Light.

You're infected like everyone else and the only thing holding the virus back is your UV intake.

Which means you have a meter than runs out after a "short period " of time, and if your in the middle of a indoor mission you will ha e to find a place emitting UV.... Hopefully they extend the time needed for that with perk/patch.

I'm still buying it.
