Nobody could win that suit against them. Even prior to release, the requirement to have a PSN account was highlighted in bold yellow on the Steam page, and stated in game.

I would not be surprised if many of those same people who missed it were the same people who were complaining about yellow paint earlier this year.

I feel like the whole vibe of the picture is just "another day, another dollar". The fact that the suit is folding and loose is part of WHY it's good, the people saying it looks "cheap" are missing the poor.

I have to imagine Gunn's main goal is to push hard back against the martyr/Jesus persona of Zach Snyder and Jason Aaron Superman. The seemingly enormous cast of cameo superheroes in it would support that. I have a lot of faith.

Not blind faith, though. It's so easy to mess up Superman. Even in the comics, we've had some excellent runs recently, but there was a random 3 month period where Action Comics was just dreadful for a Bizarro storyline. You can never take good Superman writing for granted.

Back to good stuff....actually, I'm going to hold off talking about MyGo anymore until I finish it tonight, I feel like I wanna take this one all in. Definitely very, very different from what I expected.

Also want to lay out an actual prediction on one of the directions for Jellyfish's plot after episode 5's ending. At first I thought it seemed too much for the anime to tackle, but I now think it's potentially an obvious revelation, given how Kano' personality and what we've seen of her in the last doesn't really line up with what we see now, and how she refuses to even tackle the specifics of what happened.

The "physical assault" that Kano is said to have performed on one of the Sundolls members, without any actual specifics or proof, was her confessing to them, maybe even making a move similar to what she made on Yoru. It was swept under the rug, and Kano was fired to avoid a scandal.

Ah, the brightside here is that it looks like they're intending to release this through their own app, so you can just leave that 1 star review and move on.

I don't read manga on my apps, but I do pay for them (frankly they should cost more). If any of them seem to include a single one of the manga from this "group", I will cancel.

We can see the results of AI translated anime and manga even now with the hour one GBC subs, and just a few seasons ago when Crunchyroll tries to slip one in before backtracking.

All of the anger I've seen and heard has been entirely aimed at Sony - most folks seem to feel that Arrowhead is "on our side" pretty much all the way up to the CEO since he was very publicly outspoken about this. Honestly this might just end up bringing the community even tighter together since it's being perceived as such a big communal victory.

For the most part. Lots of "The Usual Suspects" who have already been hating on Helldivers for about a month now have been pretty ruthlessly going after the devs and community manager. They never have and never will matter, though.

Doing Labyrinthos first is better in the long run I think. You can't actually do the dungeon until you've finished both anyways.

Steam has removed reviews from review bombed games before, though those were for actual "campaigns" and not from legitimate causes, so not quite the same precedent.

Tonari no Youkai I'm sticking with the show because it's ended at 4 volumes, but Centaur's Life seems to be 24 and ongoing lol.

Lol they weren't great. For real though, it was once again this show going against my expectations. I'd always been prepared for the reveal of what exactly caused Momoka to leave, with the obvious assumption that there was an actual direct cause of the fallout on the other member's party, or that she was replaced. I did not expect her to just come out and say that it was her fault for going against the original goal of the band and betraying their dream (though I doubt DD themselves see it this way), and that not only was there no crucial event, they desperately wanted her to stay. All of that restraint to not say what happened was because she's already come to accept her own fault before the show even started, again bringing it home to ther small but noteable galmin age.

It's a good move to give the other conflict room to stand out, with Nina actually having a sudden, unexpected level of animosity towards Diamond Dust. Irrational to everyone but her, obviously due to an extreme source of animosity towards her former classmate that hasn't fully been revealed yet, all leading to the excellent bar scene fight (very nice touch having Nina's neighbor be the waitress here).

The show just feels so real. I'm actually about worried about the true introduction of the final 2 members next week, and how it might effect the dynamics. I have faith though, it hasn't given me any reason to doubt.

Beta Cones have been changed before, it's still 7 weeks away so maybe they'll tune it. I have the Nihility, Hunt, and Destruction Cones at S5 (though the Destruction one feels like a waste since Xueyi has that newer Break Effect come from 2.0 now), and had skipped the Preservation cone to see what the next would be. At this rate I'm just gonna end up dumping all my Hertabucks into tickets though.....

For all these gooners who have been patting themselves on the back for their little Steller Blade hashtags and petitions against Sony thinking they're achieving something with their whining, the contrast between that complete and total nothingburger culturewar BS and what happens when people ACTUALLY give a shit about something, like what is happening here, is so fucking extreme.

Also of note that Clara is a fantastic partner for Jade (the +30 speed is not enough to push base speed Clara over the speed threshold that may cause her to waste Ultimate stacks), especially if Clara has her Signature which gives herself HP recovery, so....2.3, the Clara Patch I suppose!

Duran is the new BIS for all Follow-Up attack characters. If the character also has a notable damage dealing Ultimate, like Jing Yuan or Ratio, Solsotto will still be totally fine if not better depending on substats, but characters like Topaz and Clara need to switch to this immediately.

Forge is extremely good for Firefly.....but it's basically just going to be for Firefly. An argument could be made that for Break Effect characters it is like the Quantum Set situation where it can sometimes be used on a non-Fire character against Fire Weak enemies (Xueyi, considering her type ignoring ultimate, definitely gets value from this against Fire Weak enemies), but probably not super worth it. The 2 other characters besides Sam who would benefit most, Himeko and Xueyi, already reap the full benefits of Salsotto.

The Wind is a wild one. Can be a great Ratio set if you have better pieces than his current debuff set. Good on Topaz but not better than the current following attack set for her, same with Herta. Jing Yuan is in a similar situation as Ratio, could go with either this or the current FUA set. However where this reaaaaally shine is with Clara, this and the Duran Planar are both huuuuuuuuge retroactive buffs for her, which she barely even needed TBH, but with these sets she's going to go up like a full tier. It's also a fantastic 4 piece for Yanqing and makes him much more viable.

I haven't looked into the Firefly kit hard enough yet to see how Iron Cavalry goes for them, I assume this is their personal set though just because lol. I can say for sure that it's absolutely the BiS for Xueyi and for Boothill.

Time to lock in on MyGo. I have a looooot of time off this week so I am gonna be it catch-up mode, but before that it's gonna be this and finally watching Bochi the Rock.

New Herta Shop come seems meh. Maybe a bit of an upgrade for Himeko compared to her Signature? Better for generically built Herta, but definitely not better than Herta's 4* Signature for specifically PF built Herta.

You know, there was something that was bothering me that I couldn't nail down, and that was it. It's not like the faces are bad, but when you have been getting used to seeing shows in recent years doing either hand drawn expressions over CG, or just.....whatever the fuck GBC is doing to make it happen, dark blood magic or some shit, it does stand out as a bit flat.

I would have to go back again, but I did feel like the faces looked good during that argument at the end of the episode though.

I would say so, yes. I LOVE UC and that it's doing something unique (having strong similarities to a N64 game isn't exactly chasing a trend lol), but FE is still my jam, and Engage is arguably the franchise frontrunner from a mechanical standpoint. Though I do year for the structure of Tellius, I am getting tired of maps with random battles and the ability to grind out fights.

As long as I can continue from a manga that's typically fine by me! It was intresting enough at a glance that I didn't remove it from the list. There was a large number of anime on this list that I never even started, so again I must assume a video game happened as usual lol.

MyGo first impressions. Looks good! Prior to GBC In would have said this is about the best CG I would expect outside of Studio Orange, and obviously GBC is a different beast altogether, something completely new going on there. Colors seem a little washed and the designed aren't particularly noteworthy so far, but I m sure the pastel is an intentional aesthetic. Some still shits you can't even tell the characters are CG, combine that with some good scene direction and the look is landing for me.

Unsurprisingly we don't get an extensive view of most of the cast yet, favorite girl so far is the autistic one (I mean this clearly seems like the actual intention, she's a bit more that "quirky") but she was around most of the episode so no surprise there. Not-Dia is the one I have the highest expectation for at this time though.

Absolutely wild stuff going on in Tonari no Youkai.

The completely casual everyday world holding stuff was nice, and I've been appreciating the show don't tell philosophy, and would have been totally fine with just an SoL in this setting. However, it's going down a strong main plotline that's specifically taking full advantage of just how casual/exposition free the narrative has been so far, and I'm very excited to see where it goes.

As much as I'm riding the hype train of today's Jellyfish revelations, I do still stand by what I said yesterday. I've watched that insert song from GBC episode 5 a half dozen times since this morning, it's absolutely unreal how good this looks.

TL;DR, they didn't do anything to the game that's causing this at all, it's just that you have to have a PSN account to play now (which has been stated both on the store page and in game since day 1, but it just now being implemented), and the entire community fucking imploded.

At first I thought these were PC players being annoying and petty about taking 2 minutes to make a PSN account, but it seems there's a significant amount of countries where you actually can't MAKE a PSN account unless you do so through a VPN (for which your PSN account will be banned if it's discovered), essentially rendering the game unplayable.

They're trying to work some extreme damage control right now because apparently this was Sony's decision and the devs didn't get to a say in it, but man.....what a mess.

Anyways I'm mostly just surprised we didn't have a Helldivers General topic considering how popular this game is...maybe was, now.

I don't know if I'd call Metaphor a hybrid, it seems to basically a Persona game that has Ryuji's social link from Royal built into the core mechanic. I don't think the world combat is really.....combat. Maybe that changes deeper into the game, though.

To be clear, I don't think any answer is wrong. It's more that, rather than a binary answer of "I think these types of games are jRPGs, and these types aren't", there's a full staircase sperating the most actiony entries at the top (FF16/Nier) and most rigid entries at the bottom (FF1/DQ) that could be considered jRPGs, and people are going to have to decide how high up those steps they're willing to climb.

And then games like Fire Emblem are the bottom step alongside DQ, but they're sitting on that little part that goes past the railing and sticks out of the side a bit, and you need to decide if that's technically part of the step or not.

I'm going to make a stance here though that Valkyria Chronicles just....isn't in the conversation. In no way is that a jRPG.
