the correct way to watch the movies is to remember to watch all of the japan animator expo and then spend 6+ years waiting before watching the last rebuild film for the "true" experience

anyway jokes aside a lot of people talk about end of evangelion but i'd recommend revival of evangelion instead since it's end but with death(true)2 added, which is basically (the definitive edition of) a series recap for the bulk of the anime but with some extra scenes. the original death was in a film called death and rebirth which was basically the same thing as revival but it only has the first half hour or so of end of evangelion and therefore isn't really recommended

alternatively i think death(true)2 and end of evangelion are both on netflix individually so that's pretty much the same thing (death should be watched first ftr)

also do watch the japan animator expo tho a few of the shorts are more or less canon i guess and they're pretty great in general

match 2 still as rude as i remembered it would be. nearly abstained, it wasn't until the 2nd loop for stella that I could give it the edge

shame exhaustion didn't make it here but glad i can vote for point of no return again as a result

immanence is a song i seem to always be underrating. gradually just pushed it down to 28th place in my rankings before realising now "oops, it's still easily the best song today by a big margin" and moved it back to 15th. (still have exhaustion higher but it would be close).

op13 and full steam ahead are also pretty close now come to think of it, that might've been a pretty good match. of course, it could still happen and i'd not be totally against it even though they're my bottom 2 songs today. difficult to dislike either really. and that goes for everything else today as well

i already watched playthroughs but definitely definitely great ace attorney. pretty interested in picking up all of the poll options besides stories 2, warriors 5 and blaster master 3. not confident fuga will be particularly good though, even if i love tail concerto and especially solatorobo (but this is probably my bias for the cancelled strelka stories and that nausicaa-like shooter talking). glad it made it on the poll and someone else voted for it at least

beyond the bounds is no longer at the top of my rankings for b (in fact, it's only 5th) but with all of silentwindbell/jump/monolith gate obv/wheels of aurelia/now what/optical mode/supervoid gone it's basically guaranteed to get my vote through to the bracket semis in the (unlikely) event it makes it there. not that i don't still like raging waves

Good one but no it was i posted my e3 schedule notes and luster blamed me for the indie showcase not happening (but it did and just had like 3 minor AAA games in it instead lmao). I even told him before that that it wouldn't be worth making a topic for but he did it anyway

i had some matcatz wireless ps2 controllers for a while since local auction sites weren't a thing and they weren't selling actual ps2 controllers for a while. they weren't very good but i remember them well. i think i had an off-brand wiimote or two in the past as well, back before all wiimotes around here (bootlegs included) saw dramatic price hikes (they went from about $25nzd to 70+ ugh)

another possible contender is the ps3 controller i got with the second hand ps3 i bought about... 4 years ago. it was called a Double Shock III lmao. unfortunately i didn't get as much use out of it as i'd have liked since i accidentally dropped said ps3 while packing a year or two ago.

oh yeah, if you're considering 3ds vlr, there used to be and probably still is a critical save bug. so, try to not save in some of the rooms. can't remember which ones, just that it was a thing

also they're far from perfect, but there's a nice small trilogy of escape games likely inspired by zero escape to some degree on the 3ds eshop known as the parascientific escape series. their developer, INTENSE, seems to actively specialise in escape games on platforms like that and wiiware etc, but i don't think that many ended up in pal regions (might've actually just been them...). there is one that i know got ported to steam last year but i haven't picked it up myself yet (it was called escape of the sacrifice or something like that)

i thought i'd probably lucked out with all the narrow victories for my noms and supports, but in truth it's kind of the opposite, as none of those would've been close before, not to mention causing the lily match to be drastically more lopsided despite the other trends (to think it could've nearly avoided a doubling...) :(

overall from a vague look at all of them, there were 17 results i liked more because of new crowd and 46 i didn't (the rest i didn't care much either way)

i'm picky about melancholy

aa1's is genuinely iconic and the most memorable by a good margin, but that doesn't mean i like to listen to it all the time. i can see the zelda comparison for jfa, though i don't think it's strictly a style exclusive to zelda and ace attorney. t&t's is either a bit too simple and melodramatic or meandering too much. i feel it works well, it just isn't without perceivable shortcomings. aj's is one that targets multiple kinds of moods and pulls it off decently well. more importantly though, it reminds me curiously of some of dbz: attack of the saiyans' area themes. dd's leans in a little too much on lounge and not melancholy. i like it more than my ranking indicates, it just doesn't capture the right feelings for the theme (i blame etrian odyssey). similarly it's a great attempt from tgaa, the problem is its handicap in having to work with its instruments that don't really work for the theme either. what exactly is it that japanifornia elegy seems derivative of? i thought it was another detention center theme but i was mistaken. anyway it's ok, doesn't really do that much. lastly khurain's is also remarkably solid. rounding out the set of songs that feel like other things, it feels oddly FF-like.
