Personal rankings: SoJ 1 > AJ > PW1 > GAA > SoJ 2 > AAI1 > JFA > DD > AAI2

Honestly, for being the "this is when it gets real" investigative themes, I'm not TOO impressed. I think the Middle themes are better. I do really like SoJ Japanifornia and AJ's (although I wish the latter's were a bit longer). I kinda expect PW1 to run away with this one since there aren't any that are clearly better.

The first two definitely hit nostalgia buttons, 1 for being the original, and 2 for being associated with a particularly noteworthy reveal, but I actually really love the AJ one. This might be the only time I give that game a win.

DGS theme is quite good as well.

In this category, PW1, AJ and SoJ1 stand above the rest for me. Was hard for me to pick one, but it's hard to escape the nostalga of PW1's. I think it helps that it's widely used too, where as most of the other Core themes are only heard once or twice in their respective games.

Was having a tough time trying to decide between PW1 and JFA as I was going down the list. Then SoJ's kicked in and reminded me just how good it is.

This is the real shit. Way better group than Opening and Middle. These are all good (except 2007 kinda), with several being really good. Hard to get away from 2001 and 2002 for nostalgia, but I dunno, the AAI themes might take it.

Ugh idk, this is the first day I've had to go back and give it a second listen. I'll just go with JFA.

2001 might be the best even ignoring nostalgia, but I have to give it to 2002 because it makes the best reveal in the series that much better better. AJ is also great.

Heh, AJ and AA6 are my two least favorites but they're the ones with votes here. Different tastes.

AA1 investigation core is like one of my top five themes in the whole franchise, I don't always prefer the AA1 themes but here is one where I can't help it.

I really like AA5's too though and that would have been my vote outside of AA1/AA2. It's been bothering me for a while though so I'll ask here - does anyone else have the sense that the motif in AA5's core is used somewhere else in the game and/or franchise? Am I crazy? Whenever I hear that melody it sounds really familiar but I can't place it to another track.

I'm pretty sure the opening part of the song is almost identical to the opening part of DD's defendant lobby theme, but that may not be what you're thinking of.

Im impressed by how consistently good this batch is. Middle may have higher highs, but every song here is good.

I think I had 2 over 1 last time we did this. 2 is good but its so narrow in scope. 1 is so applicable. I think its telling that so many of the core themes follow 1s sound, but I think 1s skill in making simple and catchy melodies works in its favor here.

4 would be the best if there were more to it. It has a really nice and catchy beat. Its just way too short.

I don't know that there are too many characters who aren't attorneys, assistants, detectives, defendants, or culprits who have a dedicated theme.

There's, what, Elise Deauxnim, the Kitakis, Lamiroir, Jake Marshall, who else?

Character themes are going to be interesting. Maybe we should split it by case again, otherwise it might get overwhelming. It would also deter from having a spoilerific culprit theme day.

I guess the other character theme polls would be detective, assistant, and lawyer (maybe split by Defense and Prosecutor)?

Culprit is tricky because not every culprit has one. I could just list the case the culprit appears in on the poll and if you haven't played the game, you can skip it. Same with defendants.
