I remember reading something about how Amazon intended to "gamify" their workflow with their employees and the reaction to this was very negative around the Internet.

Why is this a bad thing, exactly? Is it wrong for a company to try and make a task more game-like in order to motivate people to do better?

Or is it one of those "it's not wrong but it's wrong if it's FORCED on you," things?

Yes that's why I said make one that doesn't suck. 1 and 2 were fantastic games. 2s only flaw is that it was too easy even on the hardest difficulty.

There's some quote somewhere about a butterfly flapping wings in Africa causes a hurricane in the Caribbean but that's not actually the butterfly effect either.

It comes from "A Sound Of Thunder" where the guy kills a butterfly during prehistory and so that butterfly never has any offspring and the offspring don't have any offspring cause they don't exist etc and over millions of years this ended up having a profound impact on the environment that dramatically changed the future.

Transfusions are the most common conflict but the real rule is once blood leaves the body it becomes unclean. Whether that's Dialysis, ecmo, bypass surgery, or something else. All of that is against the JW religion.

Europeans bought into the whole myth of Jesus being killed by Jews. Which never made sense to me. I have a personal theory that the original story was Romans ordered his execution and then later on when more and more Romans were becoming Christians, it got awkward so they changed the story and said the Jews did it

This is kind of an extreme theory. There's evidence the new testament was written before 100 CE which would have included the Pontius Pilate story at the time. Constantine didn't happen until 270 ish so for the story to change essentially it would have been ordered to alter the bible over 150 years after it was written to revise the story of Jews condemning Jesus.

This isn't impossible per s but it's a pretty radical theory.

The most likely scenario IMO is Jesus lived among historical Zealots (old Jewish sect) who believed in violently overthrowing the Romans and Jesus' popularity and his message of peace made a lot of Zealots upset and those are the ones who condemned him.

IIRC there are "duds" that are the same breed of pepper, but without the insane amounts of heat in them.

The capsaicin in peppers is basically entirely within the seeds and membrane. If you peel off the outer layer of skin and roast it, you literally won't even be able to tell what pepper it came from as long as it's in the capsicum family.

Restaurant chains that advertise ghost pepper products don't actually use them. You need a burger or sandwich that actually says what pepper they're using, like Bhut Jolokia, Moruga Scorpion, or Carolina Reaper.

I've never been, but my brother and gf have been multiple times and idk. I don't get the impression they are necessarily good places to be.

But I'm dissociating all the time, and after what happened last night (as per my other thread) I just can't take anymore. Life feels empty and void and colorless right now. But I also don't want to be completely alone while they find a facility to transfer me to. My gf has no way to come see me off. And I have no family down here; the one friend I do have is typically working.
