I dunno. 'Topic of the year candidate' sounds like it was pretty shit. At any rate, this thing's gotten about as much mileage as it's gonna get. All that seems to be left is going in circles with me apparently being an idiot on this and being called as such.

I'm being intentionally obtuse when you've got got-dang gibletheads somehow missing the forest for the trees here to focus on the very first part of the point (the one thing that gets the warning) and ignoring the 'Why don't the tons of other touchy subject matters get the same...love?' If youtube really cared it could be more be more diligent in its warnings. I don't think I've ever seen this before. Hell, I know I've watched this exact clip before and it didn't warn me then. It's a wonder I made it!

But to the person who asked, I wasn't looking for pointers on how to hang myself, no (assuming the 'are you ok' was legitimate and hopefully not one of those smarmy internet replies). Just watching clips from the Sopranos. It's a good scene, and not the only one I watched (fortunately the others were generally other people being murdered by mobsters. One was just about Tony's son being...oh, himself).

Doubling down on...being unsatisfied why this one thing is apparently the only thing youtube gives a shit about warning me about (again, particularly when I looked for it to begin with)? All the horrible things that could Trigger people, and this is where the tube draws the line. I find it strange.

I certainly hope this alleviates your confusion.

Where's my trigger warning for scenes where characters smoke? My dad smoked himself to death.

It's doubly goofy because youtube gives me this helpful warning after searching for 'so-and-so hangs himself' on Show. Does youtube's mighty circuits not know I looked for this myself?

Depictions of self-harm can be extremely triggering for people with mental illnesses or have survived suicide attempts. Sorry to inconvenience you with a 1-second warning so that they don't have to unexpectedly see something that could put them in a truly bad place.

Yeah, it was pretty stupid. It also suggests that hurting yourself is worse than hurting others (even multiple innocent others). I've struggled with suicidal thoughts for my entire adult life and probably some time before. Like, have your little 'Trigger Warning' if you want, but where is it for the murder scene? Maybe I had an uncle who died in a car crash. Bet I can find a clip of a show where someone dies in a car crash and youtube's fine with it. There's so many things that 'should' have it if this does.

Self-harm? You sure you want to deal with that heavy subject matter?

Hurting others? Well come on in, sport!
