Older FE games didn't have the class changing that exists in the newer titles. And 3H is the only FE that basically allowed any character to be any class.

I'm far as hell from a white supremacist and consider this a tragedy, but it was still self defense. He had as much right to be there as much as anyone else involved, and the misdemeanor of carrying the gun while underage doesn't remove his right to self defense.

So if someone enters property without permission and the owners point a gun at them the person breaking and entering the property is now legally allowed to shoot the property owner's out of self defense.

Being somewhere you don't belong while committing a crime is not valid for self defense. Which is exactly what this fuckwad did.

No, it's not ok. However, none of that precludes his self-defense claim. Just being there with the gun does in no way prove intent nor destroy his self defense claim as written in the law posted already. Especially when there's an entire interview of him minutes before the shooting talking about how why he's here and why he needs the gun.

Carrying an illegally owned firearm across state lines isn't a self defense thing. He had no real reason to be there and should have never been there in the first place. You can't justify self defense.

The only people who think this is self defense are white supremacists, because they liked the fact he ended up killing certain people.

https://www.boisestatepublicradio.org/post/top-idaho-republican-voting-shouldn-t-be-easy-attempt-outlaw-ballot-harvesting#stream/0

The Idaho House is pushing pause on a bill that would outlaw a practice known to critics as "ballot harvesting."

Ballot harvesting, or what some call ballot collecting, is when you fill out an absentee ballot, sign it and then give it to someone else to drop off at an official collection point.
Healthcare workers in Idaho, for instance, did this for patients who were unexpectedly hospitalized on Election Day last year.
The bill would make it a felony to do so if enacted. Family members could only drop off two ballots at a time.

We are trying to prevent with this bill Idaho going down the road that other states have gone down, said House Majority Leader Mike Moyle (R-Star), who sponsors the bill. Do we have a problem today? Maybe not. But lets fix it before we do.

Moyle referenced last years presidential election the results of which Trump allies have baselessly argued were illegal. As of last month, courts had rejected more than 60 attempts in states across the country to overturn the election results.

Debate over the proposal showed fault lines within the Houses Republican supermajority.

House Majority Caucus Chair Megan Blanksma (R-Hammett) explained that her closest polling location had been closed last November due to consolidation. Her family, which includes her husband and two adult children, all received absentee ballots at their home 20 miles outside of Hammett.

Not trusting that the U.S. Postal Service would deliver their ballots to the Elmore County Clerks office by the deadline, she chose a different option.
You send your kid. If theres any possible way of getting out of that trip into town youre going to take it because your kid has a drivers license, Blanksma said.
With this legislation, my daughters a felon. A 20-year-old kid is a felon.
Moyle acknowledged that reality.

So, you have to make two trips to the post office. I understand that concern, he said. But you know what, voting shouldnt be easy.
Other Republicans who said they supported the concept of barring ballot harvesting had concerns similar to those of Blanksma.

The number of children per family in Idaho is among the highest in the U.S. Idaho also ranks 7th nationwide for average household size, which can include roommates or extended family members.

Two legislators on opposite sides of the political spectrum Rep. Tammy Nichols (R-Middleton) and House Minority Leader Ilana Rubel (D-Boise) both said they had dropped off ballots this past election cycle as a service to their constituents.

Rubel argues any kind of voter fraud that might happen when someone other than the voter drops off their ballot is already a felony under Idaho law.
Their ballot is their property arguably one of the most sacred pieces of property in our democracy and if they want to ask a trusted friend or neighbor to drop it off for them, that should be their freedom and their right, she said.

Noting that the Idaho legislature has more than a month left before its scheduled to adjourn, Blanksma pleaded with her colleagues to revise the bill.
Lets stop it, lets redraft, lets do it right.

House lawmakers didnt vote on the issue Thursday, though they could amend the bill at a later date.

Opps, he said the quiet part out loud.

Twitter has permanently suspended the account of conservative activist group Project Veritas, after the organization released a video of a reporter questioning a Facebook executive outside their home, the New York Times reports. The account of Project Veritass founder, James OKeefe, was also temporarily locked.

In a statement given to the NYT, Twitter said the @Project_Veritas account was suspended for repeated violations of Twitters private information policy.

In a statement published by Policito, OKeefe said the offending video included footage of a reporter questioning Facebook vice president Guy Ronsen, but denied that Project Veritas had published his private information. The NYT notes that this questioning took place outside the executives home. OKeefe said the organization would not be taking down the offending coverage. It would be unconscionable for me to take down our reporting where it didnt violate anyones privacy rights, he told the NYT.

After temporarily locking his account, Twitter said OKeefe would need to delete a post that was in violation of its rules before he could tweet again. As of this writing, OKeefes account is active once again, with two tweets labelled as unavailable on its feed. IM BACK, reads its pinned post, accompanied by a video outlining the groups dispute with Twitter.

Prior to its suspension, Project Veritass Twitter account was prominent on the platform, and counted Donald Trumps adult sons as followers. But others have questioned its tactics and the accuracy of its reporting. One of its videos about allegations of voter fraud was called a domestic, coordinated elite disinformation campaign by researchers at Stanford University and the University of Washington, Politico notes. Other examples of its videos include one which claimed to show evidence of bias against then-President Trump at Google, as well as another that claimed to show bias against conservatives at Facebook.

Honestly they all suck for various reasons.

Largely that squad abilities have far lower base damage than Ryder's versions and they had the genius idea of making squadmate's weapon also inaccurate while dealing little damage. You really need to pick squadmates with utility abilities.

In terms of Utility:

Cora has Shield Boost which is AoE and has a passive upgrade of +20% shields to allies. She can be fairly tanky as Charge also recharges her shields, but she can't deal with groups of enemies.

Liam, AoE abilities that can either stagger enemies or stun them.

Peebee boosts team biotics and invasion is an AoE debuff ability. Pull and Shockwave don't really do anything. She's pretty useless overall tho.

Drack is the only squadmate who can literally be unkillable and has actual good damage with his melee attacks. Sadly his melee attacks are slow so his overall dps is about the same as everyone else. Flak Cannon can stagger enemies as well.

Vetra doesn't have anything. She can be very tanky with Power Armor active and that's it. But when Turbocharge isn't active she can't hit the broadside of a barn and her damage output with her weapon of choice is really low. Still probably better than Peebee.

Jaal can passively debuff enemies damage by shooting them, Energy Drain can be specc'd to boost ally shields as well, Avenger Strike can also debuff enemy damage too.

https://www.ksl.com/article/50103830/utah-lawmakers-nix-idea-requiring-consent-as-part-of-sex-education

SALT LAKE CITY Legislation that would have required Utah's sex education curriculum to include instruction about consent including what does not constitute consent was defeated by the House Education Committee Monday by a vote of 7-4.

HB177, sponsored by Rep. Carol Spackman Moss, D-Holladay, also would have required instruction on coercion, sexual violence behavior deterrence, and sexual assault mitigation as part of sex education instruction for students in grades 7-12. Parents must opt-in for their child to participate in sex education classes.
"My motivation is not to get some liberal curriculum into the schools as many people have made that accusation, but rather to give kids information that they can use to protect themselves," Moss said.

Issues of consent are not exclusively sexual in nature, she said.
"It could be saying no to sending a photo of yourself, or no to your sending me a photo. Or it could be saying, 'No, I don't want to go to a party where there might be illegal activity,'" Moss said.

Some committee members argued that refusal skills are already part of Utah's health curriculum standards adopted by the Utah State Board of Education in 2019.
Some, like Rep. Lowry Snow, R-Santa Clara, said there were technical problems with the bill, explaining that consent is defined elsewhere in Utah laws and those laws are intended to protect children.

Alan Buys, a victim advocate who formerly worked at Utah State University, urged the committee to adopt the bill. Buys said some of the students he worked with disclosed to him that they had "done sexual things without getting consent and didn't have a clue" that they legally should.

"The misconception that we're having here is that there are the monster perpetrators, the ones that are are manipulative and vile, but there are also these unintended, frankly ignorant perpetrators who just need a little education to understand that they have to ask, 'Is it OK if I kiss you?' or 'Is it OK if I do X, Y or Z beforehand?'"
Teaching only refusal skills puts the responsibility on victims to say no, Buys said.

"We know that it's perpetrators who need the education because people who say no still get assaulted," he said.

Dr. Kellie Woodfield, an obstetrics-gynecology resident at the University of Utah, also spoke in support of the bill.

"When done correctly, consent instruction can reduce the incidence of sexual violence, not by magically convincing a generation that 'no means no,' but by dismantling the cultural conditions then actually underscore the sexual violence, including discriminatory attitudes, ignorance and gendered power differentials," Woodfield said, explaining that she was not representing the university.

But others like Deanna Holland said the teaching of refusal skills, now part of the state standards, "lets us teach children the necessary skills the good representative wants. I'm uncomfortable adding consent into our curriculum when our current curriculum already teaches these safety skills."

Moss disclosed that her three daughters were sexually abused by a relative during their childhood and it caused great distress in their family for years. She believes that her daughters, who have their own children in their teens and some in college, have done a better job of teaching their children about sex education and about consent than she did.

"I believe that parents are the primary educators of their children's sexual education but schools can open the door for conversation," said Moss.
A retired high school English teacher, Moss said she has spent nearly half of her life around teenagers and she is aware of anecdotes and government data that show "Utah teens continue to grapple with unhealthy and abusive dating relationships."

"Consent is not about engaging in sexual activity. Consent is agreeing to behaviors within one's personal boundaries and set comfort level. Teaching students about consent can help keep them safe from predators or sexual abuse, but it can also be about simpler things like whether they want to play a game or get a hug from a classmate," she said.

The panel also voted to hold HB177 at the committee level rather than return it to the House Rules Committee. Moss said she plans to continue to work on the legislation to attempt to address concerns raised by committee members.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/04/us/missouri-lawmaker-fake-covid-19-treatment-trnd/index.html

A newly elected Missouri state representative and assistant physician faces charges for allegedly running a fraud scheme in her three clinics and providing prescription drugs illegally, according to federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors in the Western District of Missouri claim that Patricia "Tricia" Ashton Derges, who operates three "Ozark Valley Medical Clinic" locations, sold what she falsely advertised as a stem cell treatment. Court documents cite one instance on April 11, 2020, when Derges wrote a Facebook post about her clinic's treatment as an "amazing treatment (that) stands to provide a potential cure for Covid-19 patients that is safe and natural."

However, Derges actually administered a substance called "amniotic fluid allograft" to patients, according to authorities. It's a substance the University of Utah told investigators it sold to her for about $244 for 1 milliliter, according to the indictment. Authorities claim Derges knew the product did not contain any cells, including stem cells. In total, Derges' patients paid her approximately $191,815.00 for amniotic fluid that did not contain stem cells, the documents say. She charged her patients $950 to $1,450 per milliliter, according to court documents.

Derges, a Republican, has pleaded not guilty, according to her attorney, Stacey Bilyeu, who stressed she is "presumed innocent until proven guilty."
The University of Utah said its product has clear usage instructions and was "disappointed to learn patients were allegedly mislead." They pledged cooperation with authorities on the investigation and said they're "currently reviewing our processes to determine if we can do anything more to prevent similar occurrences in the future."

Derges faces eight wire fraud charges stemming from the sale of supposed stem cell treatments and two charges of lying to investigators about those treatments. Additionally, prosecutors charged Derges with 10 counts of prescribing medication to patients she wasn't treating directly. These prescriptions, however, were not related to the fake stem cell treatments.

Bilyeu told CNN her client "has entered her plea of not guilty to each and every allegation that the government has waged against her."

Bilyeu pointed out that "the only thing that has happened in this case so far" is the return of a grand jury indictment which she noted is "a one-sided proceeding."
Derges was elected in November to the Missouri State House of Representatives. She ran unopposed to represent the 140th district, according to the state's election results website. In 2017, she received a Jefferson Awards Foundation award for her work with the local Ozark community.

Derges "sold her company in her fifties to attend medical school in the Netherland Antilles, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2014," according to her biography on the House of Representatives website.

She holds an assistant physician's license in the state that was issued in 2017, according to Missouri's licensing database.

Missouri allows medical school graduates to apply to become an assistant physician if they have passed Steps 1 and 2 of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination, the indictment says, even if they were not accepted into a residency program. Federal authorities say in the indictment that Derges "obtained her medical degree from the Caribbean Medical University of Curacao in May 2014 but was not accepted into a post-graduate residency program."
Bilyeu said that Derges has no plans to step back from any of her jobs as the case plays out in court.

"She is still a doctor, she still has clinics, and she's still a state rep," Bilyeu said.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-biden-pentagon-extremism-idUSKBN2A335W

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military on Wednesday acknowledged it was unsure about how to address white nationalism and other extremism in its ranks, and announced plans for military-wide stand-downs pausing regular activity at some point in the next 60 days to tackle the issue.

The decision to a hold a stand-down was made by Lloyd Austin, who made history by becoming the militarys first Black defense secretary after a long career rising in the ranks of the Army. In his confirmation hearing, Austin underscored the need to rid the military of racists and extremists.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said Austin ordered the stand-down after a meeting with the U.S. military branch leaders, who are under pressure to show progress in combating extremism after current and former military servicemembers were found to have participated in the siege of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
The Pentagon has yet to define how it will deal with extremism or offer data estimating how many service members hold white nationalist ideology. It has also not disclosed how many troops have been disciplined for extremism.

We dont know how were going to be able to get after this in a meaningful, productive, tangible way and that is why he had this meeting today and that is why he certainly ordered this stand-down, Kirby told reporters.

It was unclear whether the announcement was meant to foreshadow any near-term concrete actions by President Joe Bidens Pentagon or whether the stand-down was more of a symbolic move, meant to demonstrate Austins acknowledgement of the problem and continued resolve.

The Pentagon did not define whether stand-downs pausing regular activity across the U.S. military might last minutes or hours, or what commanders would do during that time to express opposition to extremism.

The announcement came as mourners filed beneath the U.S. Capitol dome to pay tribute to Brian Sicknick, the Capitol Police officer who died from injuries sustained during the Jan. 6 storming of the seat of government.

The assault on the building led to the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, who spoke at a rally in his final days in office and urged supporters to go to the Capitol and fight. His impeachment trial in the Senate for inciting the siege is scheduled to start next week.

Nice of you to ignore this

He's never going to engage honestly.

He is just going to cry a river about everything the left does while insisting he's not a right winger.
