I own a mint condition issue of Ultimate Spider-Man number 1. I need to get it signed by Bendis and Bagley, bit otherwise it's solid.

I have a few t-shirts, a framed wall art outside of my bathroom with Peter vs The Sinister Six, it's pretty decent. Watches, a lamp, Controller skins...etc, but it's never enough.

My favorite Spider-Man thing was my weddings cake. I got veoted on a giant Spider-Man cake, but I was allowed to have an emblem on the back of my the cake that wasn't seen in the nice wedding pictures unless you turned the cake around and there it was bright as day. I tried to convince the boss lady with some sweet words like,

"Love is temporary, Spider-Man is forever."

She didn't buy that either.

We got a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream, With fresh strawberries between each layers. Great cake but it started to melt in the Mississippi heat after a few hours. Hot Mississippi heat and humidity plus buttercream icing equal cake soup after 5 hours. It was sn outdoor wedding in April. We were lucky it lasted that long as the heavens gave us a cool late April sunny humidity day.

As a gigantic Spider-Man fanboy, it was hard for me to overlook the changes to the origin. But, somehow I ended up enjoying the first movie for what it was, anyway.

You think you're a big Spider-Man fan boy. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. I just bought a Spider-Man watch, and drink out of a Spider-Man cup everyday. I also have a Spider-Man coffee mug, even though I don't drink coffee. It's a sweet mug though. My Gamefaqs quote is from the first Spider-Man film.

I've nearly always disliked Venom and Carnage. Just never cared for them, and the first film was passable.

I'm still not very good at Returnal. I made it further than I ever had, learned more of the game mechanics, and then I died. I ran into a mob of enemies and they wiped me out, and I had to start all the way back over. ..I'm mot a quitter, but I'm not sure e how much more of rhis I can mentally take. The game is super fun, bit I clearly don't have the skill to master this type of game nd rhia game in particular.

I haven't had much time to sit down with Returnal until this afternoon. I cleaned the living room and I sat down after doing some stuff in Marvel Strike Force on my phone, and I was making progress. I died a few times, but I was beginning to understand the world and how the game works and.... the damn game crashed.

I'm currently taking an impromptu break from the game so I don't toss my 70 dollar controller on the floor and smah it into bits.

I'm joking. I wasn't that mad, but damn it really sucks that I was making progress and the game was like, "F*** you Wave, back to the beginning chump." I'm going to grab a snack and get back to it.

I dashed off a damn cliff with 1% energy and lost a run in Returnal. I'm not very use to these Souls-Boirne type games, and so far the game is really good, but I guess I just need to "Git Gud" and keep going.

I missed dialysis this morning because of a tornado and a giant thunderstorm, and I can't wait to feel like crap tomorrow night because I haven't had my blood filtering since Monday morning. I feel okay now except for being bad at video games.

Broke down and purchased Returnal. House-Marque tweeted that a stability patch is coming tomorrow, which will deleted any unsaved runs you may have stopped during the rest mode pause save state, if you've not reached a save point.

Which is perfect timing because I'm spending quality time with the wife today and there are severe thunderstorms coming today and tonight making it a bad time to start a new game with limited save options once you start.

I will give my thoughts when I started over the next few days.

Kind of a whatever ending for Godzilla vs Kong, although everything near the end was a mess because there's a lot of rushed shit all at once. It's also kinda garbage because there wasn't much foreshadowing for Mecha-Godzilla just going berserk, and a pretty limited explanation... and then the whole confrontation is rushed.

Oh, and it looks like while HBO Max has Skull Island and King of Monsters, it's missing the the Godzilla remake so... idk what I feel like doing. I already own Skull Island so it's not time sensitive and I can't see any point in watching KoM before the first remake. (And didn't like watching GvK before those other films.)

idk, perhaps the best moment of the film involved the humans, when Bernie complained that he didn't get to the hear of the end of the CEO's speech

I don't think that has been a rule for like 20 years. The contrary, if anything.

I really love Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Marvel Vs Capcom 2. Marvel 3 and Ultimate Marvel 3 aren't that bad, and can be fun if you're not getting rolled, and it's a Versus game so you will get rolled.

I've heard great things about Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, and it looks fun, especially with the Street Fighter crossover, but even with Ultimate 3, that's been at least 10 years, and you can't have a fun game in the genre every 10 damn years.

I just checked the release date for Ultimate 3. Ren years this November. That's nuts.

There was a new Guilty Gear Strive Beta announced, and with it a nerf to Leo Whitefang. They took away his cross up mix up dash strike, and now it just kind of dashes, but doesn't mix up.

My problem with this isn't that the move is nerfed, but the fact that Strive's whole existence is to make the game easier for new players but seemingly at the cost of fun.

Shouldn't fighting games be fun?

That's my problem with Street Fighter V, it's just not crazy enough and fun. I guess that's why Smash is so popular, even though I don't consider it a fighting game, sorry EVO.

Hopefully, Arc did redesign the broken ass lobby system from the first open beta. Hopefully.

Reviews are coming in for Returnal and they're pretty good. I just can't justify spending nearly 80 bucks on one game. For that much I normally get 3 to 4 or even 5 games, and there's also my backlog to consider, which is enormous.

I just ordered Nier Autamata: Game of the Yorba Editiom today for 20 bucks. I'll just add that to the stack on my gaming shelf.

Kong vs Godzilla wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I got roasted on Twitter and Book Face because I said the humans were the worst part of the film, and they are.

My advice is to just watch the fight scenes, and piece together whatever plot you want in your head. It's going to be more fun that way.

Getting really excited for Returnal next week. Bullet Hell game combined with a rogue lite, it could be the beginning of something special, or it could be a cobbled together mess of genres. However, the game play videos and preview live streams I've seen; seen to say it's going to be something special.

The problem is 70 dollars is a hard price tag pill to swallow for a new game. As usual I'll wait for a severe price cut, but depending on reviews and word of mouth it might be be hard pill to wait on and patiently not swallow.

Granted, I guess it could attract some of the other marks and smarks on the board who don't visit the geek topic (And actually, calling it a Mark/Smark topic could be in keeping with this series' theme.)

That's the fun part of calling it Kayfabe.

Secondly, my only option is to end the Geek topics after going on 16 years, or to try to soldier on during the down times.

Honestly, I've gone through too much to just give up on these topics, but I guess All good things. What do you all think?

I got my second dose if the vaccine yesterday. Yeah, I'm sick again today. Fever, chills, muscle pain, body aches, and fatigue. Like having covid for the third time. It should pass by tomorrow, but it's still not as bad as having the real thing.

I ended up watching Dark Side of the Ring with freaking New Jack on Vice.

First off, that guy is insane. He's basically a drug addicted, brawler, stuntman, felon. In the hour and a half mini documentary on him, he at least tried to kill half a dozen people. Being called the "N" word is a trigger for him, and as a black man I get it, because I've been called the "N" word a few hundred times in my life. You kind of grow nimb to it after a while, which is a shame, but you don't try to murder the white person calling you that name.

Anyway, I was at Mania in Atlanta maybe a dozen years ago, and this guy was at one of rhe local Indy house shows, and I had no idea who he was. My friend Double R was like, "Wave, steer clear of that side of the venue. New Jack is over there, and he's always in gimmick and he will probably kill you. Not, hurt you, but kill you." Double R warned.

I pull out my phone and I Google him and my jaw hits the floor. He should be in prison, and we kindly stay in our area far away from that nut job.

The documentary was solid because I got to hear stories from.epopel who know him and know he's insane.

Been enjoying Superman and Lois on the CW. It's got a lot of CW tropes, but it's a solid show, and I've enjoyed the first 3 episodes I have watched.

I'm going to get the wife to watch Invincible on Amazon Ptime with me either tonight or Friday. The funny thing is I've read rhe comics, and I'm not sure she's going to be ready for the level of violence and the plot twist. Should be a good time.

Also, if you fellow Geels have never seen Gaslight, it's a classic film that should be on all your list. Along with a racist drunk man whore Andy Griffith in "A Face in the Crowd." Both solid classic films.

I watched Godzila vs Kong.

The film was about as good as I predicted it would be, and as usual the humans were the worst part of the movie. There doesn't need to be any humans in these films.

I proposed to my friends that it should just be the two Titans having one on one competition's in various sports, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Hockey, and Boxing, maybe MMA in America and Soccer internationally as a swap.

No humans. Just chaos for 2 hours. It'll never happen, but one can dream.

Who do you want to win between Kong and Godzilla? I've always been and always will be Team Godzilla. Stupid giant ape always climbing buildings and stealing white women. He deserves to die over and over again.

Anyway, I'm sure Kong will win in the new movie, but we all know that Godzilla is the king of all monsters.

I finished the first South Park game from 2014, The Stick of Truth, and I have a few thoughts.

1. The story is hilarious. It really is like playing an episode of the show. Obsidian did a great job of making this game as outrageous as possible, and it's awesome. (Canada is a 2D Zelda game!)

2. Some of the in game mechanics, not battle, are cumbersome. All of the farting training sessions are a nightmare, and barely work, and it's a miracle that I was able to finish them to continue the game. Furthermore, some of the puzzles are more difficult to figure out than they should be because the foreground and background are cluttered. Nothing game breaking, just annoying.

Overall, it's an Obsidian game. Very well written, but the mechanics hold it back from being great. It's the story of their whole existence as a game developer.

Still haven't watched The Snyder Cut. I should do that, but I've been enjoying, South Park: The Stick of Truth a lot more, and I'm in fluid overload from the trip to the hospital, and I haven't felt great.

My copies of Miles Morales and Yakuza: Like A Dragon did arrive yesterday, and I still have, "The Fractured But Whole" to play as well. I guess if I need a nap I can watch The Snyder Cut, but I'm not lacking in options.

Admittedly, Michelangelo was always my favorite, but that was largely because orange is my favorite color. And his goofy nature (although sometimes they try and make him out as too dumb).

The match on Wednesday between Dr. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa was a bloody, fantastic, 5 star match. Those women tried to kill each other, and I'm glad I got to watch it. I had some chicken wings and some cold ice water and it was wonderful. Find it on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

Had tons of fun watching the AEW Revolution pay-per-view ... until the ending. If you have not already seen the epic botch (and the resulting memes), go have a look, then come back here to point at me and laugh.

Yeah, I saw that epic botch. I hope someone got reprimanded for that because it was really bad. I don't want anyone to get fired, but that can't happen again if you're wanting people to pay 60 dollars for your Pay Per View.

A solution to that is to have a pre taped finish with a quick cut away to an ending with proper special effects. Yes, the 1,100 people in the audience might be upset or left out, but the 100,000 people at home that bought the event won't be left going, "Oh, sparkles." And you won't look like **** on social media for the rest of the week in wrestling circles.

Smackdown has been really good lately. I know people give Roman Reigns crap, but his heel turn has been solid. Pairing him with Paul Hayman was a great idea because it not only solidifies his heel turn, but if he's struggling with a promo Hayman can take over and sell that ice cream to someone in Alaska, and further get him over as a heel.

I'm happy with the push Big E is getting, and Apollo Crews embracing his inner and outer Wakanda although he's Nigerian.

I've always loved Daniel Bryan. I just hope he doesn't die in the ring like thr wrestling junkie he is.

Jim Cornette or "Old man yelling at kayfabe clouds." Was upset at AEW again because some audience member took a video of Shaq being taken away from the ambulance before the big reveal that he had "magically" disappeared after the match on Wednesday Dynamite. (A darn good match too)

What's hilarious is that Shaq was in Atlanta, on the same network, doing broadcast duties for the NBA All Star game on Sunday, you know, his regular job. The video got released Sunday afternoon on Twitter.

People on Twitter called him out because his podcast ratings are up only when he complains about AEW. He quickly banned those people, and his kayfabe of his own reality continues.

I found this website, skinit.con where I can get a akin for my Playstation 5. Of course I want the Spider-Man ones, but my hands don't work to well, and I'm sure I'll mess up putting it on my ps5, and I'd be upset.

Guilty Gear Strive has already made a lot of people in the FGC happy. Rollback netcode has made playing fighting games online so much better. There's still lag, but it's do infrequent that it's almost not a problem.

After playing both The Lasr of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, my game of the year is Final Fantasy VII Remake. Yes, the level design is trash, but the rest is not, and I'm having a hard time with the combat in other games because it's so good in the Remake. Like, it's really damn good.

That's why I was actually excited for the Yuffie DLC coming in June. I know it's going to be 20 dollars, I don't care, and it's PS5 only, again I don't care because my PS5 came 2 weeks ago, and I'm tired of Inyernet culture telling me not to like something or not to be excited for something.

I'm excited for the DLC and it makes me happy.

And tbh, the fact that they use the same actors for so many roles does add another whole level of stupid to the change, since now it means that either you're hiring an actor for one role or do all voices associated with that race.

I don't mind the changes because Kevin Michael Richardson has been featured in the cast for 3 or 4 seasons now. He's a regular cast member as far I'm concerned. Plus, there's a part ipf me that hopes someone other than Bank Robber and myself remembers, "The Knights of Prosperity."

I meant to finish a post I started yesterday about Guilty Gear Strive and missing WWE Elimination Chamber from Sunday night because I didn't care too much, and the beta is so much fun, but I got distracted looking for a printer.

Yes, a printer.

I went to 4 difference stores and looked on Amazon to find a printer, and the wife and I became so frustrated that we just gave up, and I forgot to finish my post. I'm not sure why there's a printer shortage, but there is.

I would blame the printer shortage of 2021 on the pandemic, but everything is digital, and you can just email or cloud over your projects. Bank Robber told me there's a shortage on the supply side from China, but I haven't looked into it yet, bit I guess, "Pandemic Yo!"

We did find a printer/scanner this afternoon. So happy ending!

I've been enjoying the Guilty Gear Strive Beta for the last three days. Because of server issues Arc System Works is extending the beta for another 3 days. That's good news for me because I broke my glasses in a freak accident with our bunny Sophie and my wheelchair. It was a bizarre moment because I crushed the frames but did zero damage to the lens.

I usually don't have my debit card on me because I rarely go anyway on the weekends, and I have memorized my card number, so if I need to order food or something it's in the ole noggin, and most of the time Scarlett has both of my cards. So, I couldn't go to the eye mart place and get new frames today, and they're closed tomorrow. Therefore, I have to wait until Monday.

Which means I can't see the television as well as I can with my glasses. I can see well enough, and the sprites are large enough in Guilty Gear Strive that it's not an issue, but I had started Control the other day, and I'm not even going to try to squint my way through that game. Nope, not a chance.

Anyway, play Guilty Gear. It's awesome!

Without getting into a whole big thing here Wave, there's an organic way to do things, and then there's the "Very Special Episode" way of doing it. You can deliver a message without being hamfisted and preachy about it.
