Cap has to be higher than 50. My normal stages range from 54-63 and hard are at 66.

I was going to say, even at lvl 60 I was still struggling to finish normal up until a few days ago, and I can't even clear the first hard stage at all.

I can only assume that lvls aren't enough, that I'm also expected to be at high ranks as well (in which case my highest ones are 5), unrefined gear isn't advised (though I'm never sure *when* to refine when gear gets outmoded so quickly), and I only got further the more *3 characters I used (with Nozomi doing the heaviest lifting).

Doesnt help that my resources were spread thin at first because I had been trying to make multiple viable groups for dungeons (and Princess arena whenever I finally get far enough to unlock it), so suddenly having an event where I was expected to have one core group of 5-6 hyper -focused characters caught me offguard.

Ugh, this reminds me that I can't clear any of the hard mode stages for the current event. Half the point of these things is obviously being able to farm character shards, but shitty scaling mechanics means I'm locked out until it ends.

If this is what it's going to be like every time, I don't think it'll matter how fast or slow new content arrives, I'll get left behind either way.

Also, all events are supposed to have 1.5x exp gain, so they're the ideal place to grind, but I heard that global doesn't have that perk yet.

Eh, the bonus would have been wasted on me anyway, had to pump a bunch of XP potions into my team to get them to my current max level just so they could compete. (They were all hovering at 56 going to 57, had to ram on through to 59.)

At least I've made more progress though.

The event should be scaling to your level, so newbies actually have it easier, I think.

Oh hell that's even worse, it's why I eventually couldn't do anything in AFK Arena and had to quit because it became literally unplayable after a certain point unless you were willing to pay enough to fly over the hurdles.

Event has started in Priconne. I'm surprised at the difficulty given this is the very first one. It also seems weird to have lv 54-65 enemies when the first boss is lv 25...
I'm also not sure why this is recommended as where to get gear. The drops are random as opposed to normal stages.

I'm stuck on fucking 1-5 Normal of all things.

Events that are clearly not designed to be newbie or F2P-friendly are hands down my biggest annoyance with gacha games, I can't remember the number of them I've dropped for that reason alone.

Couple that with my failure to get Makoto or Maho, but somehow getting damn near every other *3 on that last banner (exhausting every Story gem I had in the process) and Priconne is on some seriously thin ice with me right now.

I'm starting to wonder if stages have different drop rates depending on the rank of gear relative to the difficulty of the stage (so the first stage anything becomes available is the hardest place to farm it), or if the number of overall possible drops results in a bloated pool (made possibly worse when skipping because Bond items and extra XP potions get tossed in there).

Yeah thats a hell of a lot of stuff, and Im playing games at work lol.

I have a couple of factors that help, for better and worse.

For one I have access to a second device, so multi-tasking is possible, though also necessary because neither one is capable of playing everything. Compatibility be a shit sometimes.

Secondly, I'm homeless, but still have a means of keeping my phones charged and wifi spots here and there. So tons of free time, but zero means of buying anything.

Bleh, finally went ahead and ditched AFK Arena and Elune. Just wasn't getting any real fun or progress out of them for the amount of time and effort they demanded.

I think going forward as well that I'm going to auto-pass on any other gacha that does the whole "lets bloat the pool with dozens of deliberately hard-capped, shit-tier units that only exist to be meager fodder".

I get that every gacha game has units that aren't great, but you *can* still upgrade said units to max anyway, if only for completion or favoritism's sake. Stuff like gray/green/blue/purple/gold/red "quality" units just sucks because no matter how much you might like some of those grays, greens, blues, (and most purples), they'll always be garbage due to level, skill, or stat caps.

Honestly, for PvE pushing all you really need to do is switch Karyl for Chika and Pecorine for Miyako.

Also, if Yui isn't doing too great with healing I'd recommend switching her out for Yukari. Yukari gets a strong single target heal and a TP regen for an ally as well as magic resistance for her ult.

It was my plan to build up others (Dungeons and Princess Arena necessitate needing multiple parties), I just didn't know how to prioritize beyond "one/two physical and magical tanks, one group and single target healer". DPS is a bit more scattered though because some are ranged glass cannons while others are frontline bruisers, and then there's single/AOE targeting, and *then* physical/magical damage, and *then then* other utility like status effects or buffs/debuffs.

Skip tickets give potions and bond boosting food to use in the guildhouse, so you don't totally lose out. If you tap on an enemy's icon during the stage selection, it'll tell you if they're physical or magical, and where they tend to attack so you can position your characters better.

Yeah, I noticed the potions and food, but I wasn't sure if the trade-off for skipping was comparable to doing it myself. Some gacha be like that where "quick = stingy" as if having finite skipping wasn't jerkish enough (though PriConne seems pretty generous with the skip tickets so far).

And thanks for the heads up on how to check enemies.

I've mentioned it before that rank X with full equipment gives better stats than rank X+1 with no equipment or only 1-2 pieces. The only exception might be going from rank 6 to rank 7, because rank 7 unlocks a girl's EX skill that gives a massive stat boost once you pump mana into leveling it up.

I tried to pace myself with not ranking up until I had the next set of gear ready ...but unlocking new skills was too tempting so now I'm kinda stuck on rank 4 with gear pieces in a couple of slots.

The road to rank 7 will probably be a little more patient on my end.

Idunno how to feel about Dragon Quest Tact. I mean, I love DQ. I'm trying to like this but it's not doing anything for me.

Beyond the gameplay being "so-so" I think the other thing holding it back is that, well... unless you're *super* into collecting Dragon Quest monsters and nothing else, you're going to run out of units you want to chase and build real fast.

Hate to say it, but there's a reason why the genre has become 90% waifu and husbando collectors, where even there "F rank" units are at least nice to look at.

What's your team and levels?

The team in question was Akino/Karyl/Kokkoro/Pecorine/Yui, all level 45.

And yes, I know it's probably asking too much of the starter characters+tutorial freebie, but for the longest time Peco & Yui were my only tank and healer, Akino was doing fine for a while, and Karyl is just me being stupidly biased, so they all kinda ended up soaking up more XP from early questing than they should have.

(Bringing a tank and healer/support is obvious enough, but damage options have other factors to consider from range to type.)

I wasn't even aware you could get stat boosts at all, I haven't really touched the Story tab...

Guess that explains part of my difficulty problem, the other being that everyone is still at their initial * levels, but that's not something I can easily control. (I only just recently cleared Pecorine's hard quest.)

The starter's jump start gacha is officially gone from PriConne, and I couldn't buy it (even though I wanted to) because my game is still crashing every time I click on any of the options in the Jewel Shop. I've also heard no indication that Cygames/Crunchyroll are even looking into the issue, since it only seems to be affecting a small fraction of players. So I guess I'm stuck being a 100% F2P player in PriConne for the foreseeable future.

Anyone else having the same issue, or am I the only one here?

Don't have money to buy anything, so I couldn't say I'm having that issue or not. Instead my game's quirk is that it refuses to link my Crunchyroll account, so I'm still out 1,000 free gems.

I'm also starting to question if character and skill levels even matter when I'm being destroyed in the Arena and Dungeon by enemies seemingly half of what I am (45s versus 27s). Doesn't feel like gearing up makes me stronger either and I've been bricked walled in the middle of chapter 4 normal/chapter 3 hard for a while now.
