I also don't like this phrase in this instance. We have laws and rules for a reason, and create hard lines against certain things primarily because its a slippery slope. Legal principles address concerns regarding unintended consequences in various case law.

Basing an argument off a slippery slope shouldn't automatically make it disregardable.

No of course not, this is entirely my opinion. I don't have the answers to it all and I could very well be wrong. Which is why I started my post with "I think". The people who decide when someone should be euthanized should obviously be the ones that are medical professors or experts.

Yes, of course. But we have burdens at every stage of our lives. Backpains, migraines, outright depression, limb dismemberment ect ect.

When I say burden, I mean no chance in living a normal life at all. Not being able to walk or breathe normally. Being in extreme pain at every second of your life.

You could equate that to being old, I'm sure. But I'm also sure that not every old person is in pain to the point of them wishing to be dead.

I think death should be natural. People killing themselves makes me physically sick. Not because I'm demeaning them, but suicide is really fucked up as a concept.

Yes part of it is because of personal experiences, people should also live their lives out to their natural end. Once that line is crossed, who knows when that line will be pushed further and further towards situations where its just convenient? Such as debt issues or relationship problems. Maybe one day a person is suicidal and instead of calling a hotline, they just decide to euthanize?

Companies also drive people to depression. "Oh you can't pay your rent? Barely any salary? Your wife/husband left you and have no way to pay off your mortgage? Have you considered killing yourself? We'll take that house off you when you're done". It could lead to all these different lines being crossed.

Again, half of this is an emotional argument (because of personal reasons) and half of this is my rational mind thinking about how the line could be crossed more easily as we move on as a society.

This is obviously not counting situations where a person is physically unable to live. Like if they're on life support or their body is in such a state that living is a burden on them. Those situations are exceptions >_>

Still either industry can be shitty you're right. Heinous things happens behind the scenes. What I was basing my view on was everything. How idols are generally treated, how fans react, how media portrays and invades their lives, what public opinions and expectations are.

From what I've gathered Korean music industry is hugely monopolized by a few companies which churn out the most perfected idols. Whilst the Japanese industry is full of the most popular groups such as the Sakamichi, AKB, =Love, Zoc, Bish to the mid range like Kamiyado to the most underground scenes like Sakura Cinderella and Necromonidol.

What I'm trying to say is generally the Japanese idol scene is more relaxed with groups that arent perfectly trained and recently tabloids like Bunshun havent been up the idols asses lately. Heres hoping it stays that way.

Whilst in Korea you have the most rabid fans who even invade idols lives like setting up secret cameras in their changing rooms. Hell even check social media like Twitter and you'll see how bad kpop fans are "comparatively" (I say comparatively because you still get insane wotas now and then).

Again you're right about the behind the scenes, both industries have disgusting secrets. But I'm mostly talking about the general scene overall.

Theres still a dating ban rule. The Japanese idol industry is not as toxic as the Korean one but that's not saying much.

Wotas are still crazy. But I'd like to think more fans nowadays are being more relaxed. Hell, Sugai Yuuka kissed a guy in a stage scene when she was still an idol 2 years ago. I was thinking there would be outrage but it wasnt much of a big deal.

The idol culture or groups are primarily based on the school systems. You have kohais, senpais, 1st gens, 2nd gens, 3rd gens, graduations ect ect.

A majority of idols are aged from 18-30 (or even older) and there are some that start at around 13 or 14 like Yamasaki Ten and Hirate Yurina respectively.

Japan celebrates youth through idol culture and more recently the term "idol" has been expanded to include even more people. You have groups surrounding idols who are older married women, the underground idol scene has blown up, Kawaii metal (influenced by babymetal) has grown exponentially and even the mainstream huge idol corporations have started groups like Yoshimotozaka46 which have older men, women and younger members.

Kinda crazy how something improved vastly from the source material
