Hit 225 on incline, failed on my attempt for 230.

Looking at a split of 205X5, 210x3, 230x1 next week.

Another notable improvement is that I hit weighted dips x3 for 110.

Also hit 245 on regular bench pretty comfortably at the end of the work out. Which is a very good sign because I'm usually super fatigued at this point. Wouldn't be surprised at another big jump on my regular bench day in a few days.

This is going to be the best bet. Not worth to fight through because you strength will slowly go down and you'll question yourself saying that you should have fixed this earlier. I know from experience, my hip was fucked, and I kept trying to go through it, and it just got to the point where my stability was so shot that if I tripped on anything, stubbed my knee or toe, I would just crumble. Stopped doing any leg work outside of just walking for about 2 months, then started slow and worked my way back up just incase I got injured again from going too heavy, too quick.

soro you feel like that 200 Ohp is gonna be in the works for you when its all said and done?

I think so, outside of my back like I mentioned, I'm also doing extra work on my delts. Even got my lateral dumbell raises up to 40lb's now. Granted, when I was at my strongest, OHP always plateaued pretty badly once I hit 180.

Gonna go through this current routine 8-10 times or so,(currently halfway through the 3rd time). See where I'm at progression wise. Probably deload for a week, then go through the routine another 8 times, and then see where I'm at overall and if I want to do a mini-cut. I think that's more than enough time to break through my plateaus and barriers for almost all my lifts.

I used to do squats and dead's on the same day. It's really only a 'bad idea' because of fatigue reasons. Otherwise it's mostly hitting completely different muscle groups. It's really only the glutes you are hitting significantly on both. Unless you are super deep on deadlifts for some reason, at that point it would hit the quads.

And normally I wouldn't do deadlifts and pullups on the same day, but I'm specifically targeting my back more during this routine. So a lot of extra back work.

Soro I must say I appreciate your presence and wish we could get in a lift IRL. I have always treated lifting with the mindset of be humble and supportive to others but be cocky as fuck when it comes to yourself. Fucking smash those PRs man and then come brag about it!!!

Big dog, lifting is one of the few things I'm passionate about. I love talking about it, because it's something I love to do. I get asked a lot how I am able to stay disciplined, and the honest and easy answer is just because I like doing it. Anything is infinitely easier and more fun when you actually like doing it. Getting paid to just lift would be a dream for me.

It's like going into a zen state for me. Plus the ability to easily track progress helps a bunch. Tracking progress is a must for me, otherwise, I don't really see the point. lol. I think that's why I was into speed running (and still am, just don't have the time to compete in it anymore), which also has easily trackable PR's. I also think I just like records and statistics(I mean this board was basically dedicated to tracking and analyzing polls of video games and characters).

Anyway bench day. Hit 250 last time, hit 260, failed on 265. Not increasing at the rate as my deadlifts and squats, but as long as I am improving on my compounds, or a couple of my other exercises I'll consider it a great day. Need to get 285 to hit my PR, so only 30 more pound for a new PR on this. 30 away from bench PR, 30 away from Squat PR, 105 away from deadlift PR(lol).

Deadlift went nuts the other day, now it's squats turn. I was gonna say that squat is the first lift to get back to where I was before I starting cutting weight, because my deadlifts already passed that(can't believe I was stuck on 315 for months and just zoomed passed it lol), but now squats have joined the club.

It's funny going in I was gonna end a 310x1, I did, but it was easy. I hit 320 a few days ago on my other squat/leg day. Decided to hit 325x1, did, then did 335x1. Hit that too, much more of a struggle tho. Gonna try for 340 on my next squat day. Should be fun. All of this and I'm 13 pounds lighter. I know muscle memory is very much a thing, but going in and starting at 230x6, 240x5, 260x3, 280x1 on week one, and then(next week) week 4 being 250x6, 260x5, 285x3 340x1 is insane progress.

Week two 255x6 295 X3 335X1

This was five days ago. Now, keep in mind I start fresh on deadlifts on my first "back day"(Back day because it focuses on upper back, but it also incorporates lower back, glutes, and hamstrings, basically any muscle on that back of the body.) Back day 1 starts with deadlifts, ends with body weight pullups.

Today is my second back day workout where it's the opposite. I start with weighted pullups and end on deadlift, also work on grip strength.

PR all time for me. Was finally able to hit 8(15)-5(25)-and 3(50) on weighted pullups.. First time hitting 3 reps with 50 pounds.

Hit another PR in dead hangs, and hit 1:44. So close to the 2 minute mark.

So after all the heavy upper body work, hamstring work, grip work, I then hit 335 on deadlift. Felt easy, so I hit 340, 345, and then 350. Absolutely bonkers workout.

Its been a week yall. Nearly lost my home to a forest fire. Had just a few minutes to pack up what I could and get out. Thankfully the fireman did an amazing job holding the line, but I struggled to eat or sleep well for a few days. First day back in the gym, I lost 8 pounds lol. I know it will be back in a few days, but still. Trauma can nuke you in just a few days

Damn dude. Sorry to hear that. I can definitely relate though. Few years ago I had to also do an emergency evac for a forest fire encroaching on the neighborhood I lived in the time. Only could take a select few items too. Luckily nothing happened outside of not being able to get back in my house for a couple days.

Got my incline back up to 220. This has my excited for a couple reasons. It's improving again, after being stalled forever. And the fact that my PR of 245 was when I weighed 182, I'm only 25 pounds away from this, and I'm 17 pounds lighter. I think I might actually get a PR on this in the next month or so.

Also another tidbit. I remember not being able to hit the 100's on the dumbell on flat bench until just recently(I also mentioned when I finally did in the previous topic), I'm hitting 95's right now on Incline. Another milestone for me once I hit those 100's.

Yeah I had next to no issues on Cyberpunk on release on PC, outside of some mission marker bugs. Performance wise I never saw anything close to resembling the console fiasco(I know people had issues on PC too, but every CDPR game in existence has came out from being unplayable(OG Witcher 1) or super buggy(Witcher 3).

Similar to that, I haven't experience anything super concerning on performance on PC either for DD2. Maybe I'm also just not as sensitive to that kind of stuff, as long as I can maintain a steady 60, with no pop in I'm pretty good.

The incentive is being able to make money by building more houses on less space, still making a profit, but selling at a cheaper price to those who can now afford it.

I don't know why you don't understand this. Developments have no incentive to do this though. They are going to maximize profits, the demand for houses is huge. We all know this. Why make dense housing on smaller lots, when the profit margins are going to be bigger on bigger housing. This bill allows them to build, but there is no incentive to actually build smaller housing.

It's nice to think they they are going to be such altruistic about housing needs. Though, keep living that dream I guess.

This will be my last post regarding this.

First off, saying this is bipartisan is slightly misleading. Sure by definition it was, but the house in AZ is majority R's, and this bill had a few D's jump over, but the majority of the D's opposed it. The biggest red flag, is that AZ developments showed no sign at all of opposing this bill. Why? Because it would be an instant money maker with almost no set backs for them.

This bill would affect the following cities; Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Scottsdale, Peoria, Tempe, Surprise, San Tan Valley, Goodyear, Yuma, Buckeye, Avondale, and Flagstaff.

You can mostly lump in the PHX metro, though there are some varying differences it's mostly the same in geography and infrastructure, however Tucson, Yuma and Flagstaff are all wildly different from Phoenix in both geography and infrastructure. That's 16 cities all with different regulations, restrictions, and codes.

This bill basically says "Fuck your city, build some super denser houses and who cares about your geography and infrastructural needs" Want to live within 5 feet of your neighbor, the interstate? The airport? The military installation? The railroad? Go right ahead. Water? Who cares?

Your neighbors own an acre of land? half acre? quarter acre of property? The can sell it to a developer and have them build dense housing.

So let's get into the meat of the problem:

emblem-man posted...
By having the option to have smaller homes, you open up a range of housing that someone can buy at a lower price point.

There is no incentive for developers to make the smaller houses, with a lower price point. Nothing in this bill does this, it just like you said, provides the option to do so.

emblem-man posted...
Most homes are purchased by people rather than corporations. Any new housing, cheap or expensive, is going to primarily be purchased by individuals.

That's fine and dandy, but once again, nothing in this bill incentives this.

emblem-man posted...
Making more homes makes homes more affordable

Sure, but did you know AZ, already in a major housing crisis, is also one of the fastest growing states and economies in the USA? The point where the houses start becoming more affordable is when the demand is starting to be met. The rate of growth in addition to the already looming problem of the not enough houses would still take years to make the market rate go down. Once again, I'll reiterate, nothing in this bill incentives affordability other than allowing developments to bypass 16 city local codes and regulations to build more houses, but nothing in this bill states they need to actually make them affordable.

emblem-man posted...
Which red tape are they bypassing?

I dunno, the 16 cities they would be then allowed to build in, ignoring all codes, regulations, infrastructure with no say by the residents who have lived in said cities.

Let's say they meet the demand. What then? Developers are just going to continue to build cheap houses, and with cheaper materials resulting in poor quality builds and housing. What's going to happen? The Cities and state can't stop them, it's law.

This was a short sighted bill, aimed to put a band-aid on gaping wound. The band-aid will help, but eventually it will fester and turn into rot. It's pure government overreach with absolutely no foresight.

Arizona can regroup and reintroduce a more intricate bill. Maybe start with one city? See if this idea works out. Maybe revoke SB1350, which Ducey signed in 16' which stripped local municipalities of their abilities to manage short-term rentals, which is also a huge component of the housing shortage.

But in reality, as mentioned, this was mostly Republican lead, which is why it's bare-bones and vague with no actual incentive for developments to build actual affordable house, but just to let them build willy-nilly. A more comprehensive bill that actually would help wouldn't pass at this point in time because R's wouldn't hop in.

We need housing, I 100% get that. This bill isn't it though. It was the right move to veto.

Ok, look at this way.

What in this bill is exactly making it affordable? And what in this bill makes it so first time owners are going to be the ones making these purchases?

Making a bunch of housing is great, but nothing in this bill makes something magically more affordable.

What this does is make it so developments can bypass all the red tape and cash in.

All this does is make more houses for the supply part, and no guarentee that the people who need this housing, are going to get this housing.

What does more balanced mean. I've posted exactly what the bill does. What power does it give developers that allows for more sprawl?.
How will they be able to build in the middle of nowhere with this bill?

You're just saying "developers" as though it's supposed to be some boogyman word to scare me away. Nothing that you've said is backed up by the text of the bill that I'm actually talking about. It's just hypotheticals based on nothing.
You want to know the best way to make sure Arizona doesn't continue turning blue? By making housing so expensive that people stop moving here.

Missing middle housing for one. Which is currently illegal, would be a much more balance approach as opposed to having developments build wherever they fuck they want.

This bill would give developments powers to build where they want in a housing crisis. The demand is there, so they are going to build in the cheapest areas to maximize profit. This bill gives them more power than ever before. I dont know why you cant grasp this. Im all for removing legal barriers to get this done, but they are target the wrong barriers.

We won't get better infrastructure (public transportation) unless the density makes sense. Density won't make sense if dense housing is not allowed. We get dense housing by removing legal barriers to build dense housing.

You are ignoring that this allows them to build anywhere. They are going to build in the cheapest areas to build, which means in the middle of nowhere, or next to potential nuisances like military installations. In the case of one, being in the middle of nowhere means the state is now going to have to put more money into infrastructure(water, sewage, roads, lighting). You are ignoring how much power this would give developments, and it's not good. And point two, would you really want to live right next to Luke AFB?

Being for more housing should not be a partisan issue.
You're essentially saying you don't want any bills to pass if it gets Republican votes?

Half assed bill...if a bill proposing to remove minimum lot and house sizes can't get passes, what makes you think more drastic bills that will do more to fix housing will get fixed?

What part of half-assed, short-sited do you not understand? A quick fix isn't a fix. It's a ticking time bomb.

I'm all for more housing, more affordable housing, but this bill isn't it. I don't know what's so hard to understand.

Arizona is a red state, turned purple, angling towards blue. I'd rather wait for democratic legislation to come up with an actual solution as opposed to a band-aid.

Yeah it sucks, it's not what I want. But this bill is ass.

They still have to follow all public safety regulations. This removes the red tape that make it unable to build denser housing. That's the exact kind of red tape that needs to be removed

I don't think the state should just override local city and town jurisdiction just because.

It's a quick fix that is ignoring future consequences. Like I mentioned early this would be an infrastructural disaster waiting to happen. In a state that already has an immense water problem, in addition to the population growth the roads and traffic are worse than ever before, and ADOT already spends tons of money on Phoenix's roads.

We shouldn't settle for a half-assed bill, and I'm an Arizona resident. We can do better. The fact it's bipartisan makes me side-eyed too. I don't trust any of the MAGA republican's in office here.

What are the inherent root problems to the housing crisis?

Don't get me wrong. More needs to be done such as removing single family only zoning, removing minimum parking requirements, etc.

The problem with the bill is that it gives way too much power to the developers. It would essentially allow them to bypass a bunch of red tape to build wherever they wanted. Zoning sucks, but it's pretty crucial to infrastructure and city/town planning and building.

The root problem to the housing crisis is; one, not enough houses, and two, corporations and private firms are buying up houses for air BNB and other rental services, but to bypass red tape, and ignore community input just for the sake of buying a bunch of likely half-assed houses is not the way to go.

This bill is short sighted, and not fixing any inherit root problems to the housing crisis and was essentially a quick fix.

Hoping to hit 315 later this week.

You are double-counting things and using wrong numbers. The NFL has eight required breaks per half (not quarter), one of which has to be the end of the first or third quarter and one of which has to be the two minute warning. The other six per half are used up by timeouts, scoring breaks, injuries etc. ALl of those things count towards the required number of breaks.

While you might be able to get to ten, in no way is that the average.

Yeah thats my point. There are way too many points where the action breaks. Its a slog to watch football.

No you don't.

There are 5 required commercial breaks, 2 two minute warnings, and three timeouts, per team. You can very easily reach 10 breaks in a quarter.

Stop being a rube.

All my extra bicep work is starting to finally pay off. My left arm has been stronger than my right, but after just a week or so it's starting to catch up, and both are getting stronger.
