Job or company? I've been with my current company for 16 years (since Feb 2005) but that's been split across 4 separate jobs.

Started off working part time in what was basically a sales admin role whilst I was at university so I did that for like 3 years. After I graduated they offered me a job as a Design Engineer which wasn't remotely related to my degree but they didn't want me to leave. I did that for 4 years before transferring from the UK office to the US office and becoming the Quality Assurance Manager. Then after doing that for about 4 years I became the US Operations Trainer which I've done for like 5 years now.

I've had thoughts about leaving for the last 3-5 years but never pulled the trigger. At this point my loyalty is actually to the VP of Operations rather than the company itself. If he left I'd start looking for another job tomorrow.

I can tell you that Florida courts call it in the best interest of the child and favor the one being more reasonable. There isn't the tendency to favor the mother just for being the mother.

I say this from experience of 2 separate male friends getting divorced, the mother thinking that everything should go in their favor and then the mother getting rinsed and chewed out by the court because the father was the reasonable one and doing everything correctly.

Running and hiding for 6 months will definitely count heavily against her. However if she can provide proof of the abuse to the court then I'm sure they would side with her. Probably wants to look into her options of restricting his access immediately due to the abuse rather than just running. Obviously if that can't be safely accomplished then they are going to need to get the police involved

I have 5 cats and a dog and I don't want any of them drinking from it. I know for sure the cat I've had the longest will do it which is what prompted me to start doing it. I suspect at least 3 of the other 5 would (the dog and male cat are lumbering idiots and my oldest cat lived outside for 17 years before I rescued her from the shelter so probably drinks from whatever she can find)

I have the PS5 in the mancave. The PS4 Pro is in the living room which the wife uses and we have the PSVR hooked up to since I never got around to ordering the cable for the PS5. Then the other PS4 in the bedroom which the wife sometimes uses when exercising

I left my actual PS1 in the UK when I emigrated but I guess I could unbox my PS1 Classic if I wanted to have all 5 on display and hooked up in the mancave at some point. I'd also have to dig out my PSTV from somewhere if I did that

These are the current Steelers players on the trade block for cap purposes.

G Dockery (91 - 33 yo) - 124 Blocks / 19 Sacks (6.53 ratio) as a Steeler

WR O'Neal (85 - 33 yo) - 2330 Yards / 177 Rec (13.2 YPC) / 14 TDs over 4 seasons

CB Parrish (82 - 31 yo) - 163 Tackles / 2 FF / 3 FR / 12 INT / At least 1 INT for 8 consecutive seasons (Those are career stats, drafted as a Steeler)

DE Freeney (90 - 33yo) - 198 Tackles / 36 Sacks / 2 FF / 2 FR / 1 Safety in 5 seasons

These have all been solid starters for me. I'm only moving some of them due to the salary cap, I'd be keeping all of them if not.

Additionally the following are available but are more budget type players that probably won't generate much interest and have been backups plus my kicker

C Elflein (79 - 23yo - RFA eligible next season)
OLB Paige (75 - 25yo)
K Carpenter (88 - 30yo - 78.1 FG% over 6 seasons but 71.4% over the last 2)

In case people weren't aware, I have a spreadsheet that tracks draft prospects OVR process through the years. If you click the 2016 tab then all the players in yellow are potential RFAs if they were offered their default years on and weren't cut/extended.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hd7lQcU2_bECw_12qH7aMQVq0qraKN4z5gPGYOl38OU/edit?usp=drivesdk

As a sidenote. If anyone needs an extra 1st or 3rd for RFA purposes, I'm open to offers. I probably don't have the cap space to participate in RFA myself.

For anyone who cares, I updated the non draft related tabs to be accurate too. So you can kind of see where an OVR stacks up against the rest of the league at each position.

League is still pretty awful at CB but it's at least showing a resurgence.

Fullback is going to fall off a cliff soon too. Gone from like having 20+ 99 FBs to having 10. And there's a massive gulf of nothingness in that 80-89 range.

I also did the same thing with the abyss island. I didn't realize until a lot later that there was a teleport there. Took me a while to glide there as I was so low on stamina at the time.

Really the deciding factor will be the players. If the players are forced to pick between playing domestically and for their country vs money and the super league then eventually the talent pool will dictate which side puts out the better product. The super league only works if the best players are in it and the television money can support it. If there's enough of a split in talent then it won't work as the current teams can just refuse to sell to super league clubs unless there's a ridiculous transfer fee and they would also not have any sort of feeder system either. Eventually the television money would fall if the super league talent pool wasn't significantly better than what the current system has.

This of course requires UEFA and FIFA to actually enforce their threats.

I mean what has really fueled this is COVID. The big teams recklessly spent like the money train would never stop or slow down and then it did. Yes, nobody could have predicted it happening we badly as it did but this has all been caused by the financial arms race the big teams have had in the past 20-30 years (although it has spiralled recently) and their resulting financial mismanagement.

20 years ago only the very top players were earning 30-50k a week and everyone else was earning like 10-20k or less. Now it seems most squad players at the big teams are earning 100-200k a week whilst big name players are earning like 300-500k a week. And wasn't Messi's contract something ludicrous like $600m+ for 4 years? So effectively more than $1m a week?

In fairness I did specify teams too. When you're dealing with individual sports then you're less likely to be dealing with owners maximizing profit and 50-100+ years of history

There's very few individual sports set up like team sports league structures. And with stuff like combat sports where the individual is putting their body/career on the line with shortened careers, it's a lot harder to be critical of them taking the money fight.

what do you think of combat sports?

I used to be a big boxing fan and I used to watch UFC a lot 10+ years ago. I'm not a huge fan of big name fights unless it's on merit. My biggest gripe with boxing was that they would avoid the best fights because of the politics involved and to protect their boxer taking a loss and subsequent loss of future earnings. In recent years I don't watch it unless I'm drinking with friends and they want to watch it. I haven't gone out of my way to watch a boxing match or UFC fight in probably a decade.

Sidenote but even though it's scripted it was my biggest pet peeve in wrestling where all the regular workers were pushed aside for big name X and part timers. It was undeserved and was purely about the money and casual fans. I hated how Lesnar was used in particular

Even as a fan of a team that will be included I am absolutely disgusted by this plan and if it goes ahead then I am out as a fan.

It is absolutely vital that football operates on a merit based system. This move is clearly not about what's best for the game or the fans and is 100% down to owners wanting to earn the most money possible and mitigate the monetary downfalls from failure to perform on the field. This is probably especially prevalent in the EPL where 6 teams into 4 spots does not go even before you have teams like Leicester outperforming the big teams. I'd imagine the Spanish teams are also in because of ballooning debt during COVID from overspending and have no backup plan for when shit hit the fan.

Any sporting event where teams qualify on name value alone instead of merit removes all the integrity from the game and makes a mockery of the system.

Put down a $1500 deposit on a venue for my wedding. When we had to reschedule due to COVID they wouldn't refund it, which whilst shitty wasn't unexpected, but what was extra shitty is they weren't even willing to rollover the deposit to a new date either. Not even part of it. The options were pay us the rest and use the venue that date or lose the money completely.

I actually had to kick up a fuss just to make sure I didn't owe them more money. They made us sign in the cancellation contract that we couldn't post anything negative on social media / etc and we couldn't show the cancellation contract to anyone. I posted negative reviews anyway as that is illegal to include in a contract. I then forwarded their contract to the FTC for unfair business practices.

Seriously fuck that place. I was more than willing to give them the full amount and still use them if they just let us move the date.

They already do that in stores by me for what it's worth. Although it was a store that was closing down and labelled as no returns because of that fact so there may have been more of a fuck it factor to it. But yeah, the 3 times I bought stuff from that store they added the warranty without me asking or even mentioning they did it. I had to ask them to remove it all 3 times and it was only because I noticed it. Could easily see how it could go unnoticed

I just looked into this for a bit, so it's like insurance but specifically for when things fail around the house? How much do you spend on it? I could see myself enjoying that since I'm not particularly handy but it does seem hard to justify a monthly expense when insurance companies will do anything to not pay you

Mine is $45 per month and then there's a call out fee of $75. So it depends on how big a job it is as to whether I call them. Some stuff I fix myself and then other stuff I'll get them out for.

So like when my garage door opener spring snapped that was worth it because it's a pain in the ass to repair myself and costly to have someone else do. When I had an AC issue (and I live in Florida so it is an issue when it breaks!), it was worth it. I've had my microwave break a few times (one of the built in ones) and that one has been more iffy on whether to have them repair or just buy a new one. I'll demand a replacement next time though as they have now repaired it 3 times (two times were close enough together that no extra call-out fee was needed)

Yeah luckily the seller took care of the two biggest things the inspection noted (sump pump not functioning in the crawlspace and missing siding on the exterior) so that's two less things to worry about. There were a few less important things they noted that im slowly looking into but I'm just so uneducated lol. Every other sentence on the report is "We recommend contacting a professional to have this repaired." But some of it is for things that seem incredibly minor, one I remember offhand is missing the...ending bits on the handrails going up the stairs. I know there's no way that's that important so it's hard to judge out what really is or not, but I guess I'll learn as I go

Legally they have to tell you about that stuff no matter how minor because if they inspect and don't divulge that info you can sue

Look into a home warranty depending on the age of the house you're buying.

Our realtor was my wife's friend and has been in real estate 35 years. Her gift to us after buying the house was paying for our 1st year of home warranty because she recommended it so highly. I would have never gotten one if not for that as I thought they were a scam. I renewed it when it expired and we have used it a few times. It's probably about breakeven on cost so far but everything in our house was virtually new when we got it so I could easily see how it could be worth it.

Can't speak for production but in terms of rating these are probably the more notable RFA players (assuming they were offered the default years on their rookie contracts)

QB Murray - 87

HB Gordon - 90

OT Flowers - 90
OT Havenstein - 88

G Lawson - 93
G Allen - 90
G Wichmann - 87
G Garcia - 86

DT Williams - 86
DT Sutton - 85

OLB Alexander - 88
OLB Brown - 85
OLB Jenkins - 85

SS Neal - 91
SS Joseph - 86

CB Cockerell - 88
CB Lawson - 82
CB Verrett - 82
CB Foley - 81
CB Martinez - 80

P Lachlan - 87

K Santos - 98

Then there's a couple in the 80-84 range who I guess may generate interest depending on how they are tagged.

After speaking with my fiancee some more I feel like I can give some more insight into what your wife may be going through and why she is shutting you down completely on this.

My fiancee's blood test did in fact say she was very likely to have it, she's going to go see the OBGYN after our honeymoon for more testing. Her mindset right now isn't that this means we have a reduced chance at kids, she has gone straight to thinking this means we can't have kids at all. It's very possible that this is how your wife is dealing with it too and that's why she's shutting you down and unwilling to even discuss it.

So I feel I can give a unique opinion here because thanks to this thread, I found out today my fiancee very likely has PCOS too. I didn't know what PCOS was when I read the OP so googled it, I saw that virtually all the symptoms apply to my fiancee and immediately mentioned it to her. She wasn't surprised and told me that her doctor told her a few months back it was very likely she had it due to her symptoms and a blood test result she got. She never followed up on it because she's worried about not being able to have kids and her initial appointment with the doctor hadn't been for fertility reasons.

It obviously had to be a pretty large concern for her as she tells me absolutely everything. We have been together 5 years and this is the only time I know of where she didn't give me the full details (she told me part of the results like insulin resistance but not the PCOS part). It's also very uncharacteristic of her to 'run' from something and not follow up on it so I know this has to be awful for her and I feel shitty that she has known for several months and I haven't been able to help her with it.

So I feel like I can give my two cents here and I can tell you what I did. We are getting married on Saturday and I immediately reassured her that even if we can't have kids, it does not change anything whatsoever from my standpoint. The important part is her and her health and we can discuss our options whenever she feels up to it but ultimately if it means we don't have kids, I can live with that just fine.

Just from how emotional she was in the response I know this was a big deal to her and a big concern of hers. She's had months to mull this over alone so I can only imagine how your wife feels like after only just finding out. All you need to do right now is be there for her. You can discuss your options later when she feels up to it which may be months down the line. I know it probably tough on you right now too but I'm sure in time your wife will open up and you will find out what your options are. Pressing her on it right now is only likely to cause negative feelings and negative association, it's not going to get the resolution you want.

If the answer is reasonably difficult then just got with the stability of 1 (plus 4 day work weeks are nice)
