I've played so many games that I now have ludicrously high standards. It has to have an amazing story (Killer7, RPG Maker game The Way), a decent story with a great atmosphere (Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines), or addicting gameplay with good art and sound design (indies like Darkest Dungeon or Risk of Rain). Most games bore the fuck out of me now.

I've been getting out of games lately in favor of reading, but I've been keeping my eye out for games that had an interesting story/presentation. It seems like some rogue likes end up being fun and well paced, like Rogue Legacy, while others end up being a boring slog, like Legend of Grimrock. So is DD as good as everyone says it is?

They grow out of it eventually but you'll need to start yelling at him and refusing to play with him when he bites too hard.

What was so bad about it

It wasn't a Zelda game. It was a third rate Metroidvania game with next to no exploration. You know how people complained about Twilight Princess having a wide open world with barely anything to do? The director of that project and Skyward Sword, who's name escapes me (not Miyamoto), concurred. Yet instead of building upon TP's Foundation, they pumped out what was essentially a waste of a Zelda game.
