TopicHow to tell someone they're eating too much?

As an obese person, you may or may not want to say stuff to them... they likely get all the ranting and preaching already from parents and doctors.

It also depends on reason why they eat. I know for me when someone starts ranting at me about my diet or health and they start preaching to me on how I should change, it just legitly makes me want to go grab a cheeseburger and devour it right in front of them in pure spite. I have literally been in a situations where I went in for a doctors appointments listen to them talk down to me for an hour. Walk out of their office and go right to a fast food place and order a bunch of food because fuck them.

For me I know its grossly negative to my health. Hell I nearly died in 2021 from complications with diabetes. But the pure facts are food is one of the few things in this world that bring me joy these days and I'd rather die at 40 with something that makes me happy than die at 90 spending decades miserable because I wasn't allowed the things that bring me joy. If I'm constantly unhappy whats the point of living? Just to mark time? Naw.

You say that as if that was always the sole purpose for the protests when in actuality the vast majority of people showing up to those protests were peaceful. Of course people show up to take advantage of the situation. That seems to be the nature of large protests in general. Tell me, how do you feel about police brutality and systemic racism?

Police 100% overstep their authority and abuse it in the name of the law. I find a large majority of police to have certain characteristics and they widely abuse their authority definitely overly brutal in their execution of the law. They have an internal buddy buddy system where they protect their own as well. I am not a fan of police as a whole. On the flip side however if they are going after someone with a known history of violence, a criminal wrap sheet a mile long, a level of force out of the gate should be expected.

I do find most systemic racism claims to be misjudged and what is often deemed and accused as racial discrimination is often actually wealth discrimination. The all mighty wealthy that influence and have a heavy hand in the laws and regulations of the country I really don't think are doing it based on the color of the skin or a the culture. Its more about keeping the poor poor their goal to make themselves more wealthy and maintain it. Keep the poor down while elevating themselves up. It just happens that minorities make up a major chunk of the poor.

I just think racism claims as a whole today are often misrepresented. Go to any poor white neighborhood and they don't live any better and they are just as discriminated against by law enforcement. You go to any poor/run down part of town of any racial makeup and that whole area has a preconceived stereotype of its inhabitants. In the city I live in we have two major "bad" areas of town, which is the areas with the more run down parts of the city and high crime rates. One is the area that is mostly comprised of minorities and the other is the where all the "white trash" lives. They are both looked at with preconceived notions. I for a number of years lived on the outskirts of said latter place and have had situations where I had dealings with the police despite not having any criminal history, just the fact I lived in the area, I was prejudged by them as just a piece of white trash not worth helping in a case where I needed and then was accused of things in other cases.

There are clearly real examples of actual racism in the country and world, but I find that people tend to throw the "racism" card out at anything that doesn't go the way they think it should. Its incredibly hard to not become desensitized to it. The Boy that Cried Wolf scenario.

In the AA incident you have 3 redneck "good ol boys" hunting down a black guy running in their neighborhood. Trying to cry "citizens arrest" because they thought him guilty of stealing or something. Instead of just calling police like they should have done if they truly believed him to be the person doing it and let the cops sort it out. A probably terrified AA tries to defend himself and he is murdered in the street. That citizens arrest thing really needs to be reevaluated
I see guilty here, its just a matter of how guilty (what level of murder) I don't see it going well for them. They need to just ask what exactly where the intentions of these guys when they jumped in their trucks and went after him. Was their intention to kill him from the start, or was it a case of the whole situation spiraling out of control and they shot him out of fear because he fought back? I'm thinking it probably resides somewhere at the 2nd Degree Murder for the two and 3rd degree for the camera man... if those charges are even on the table. I haven't been paying as much attention to it.

Which is different than the RH case. Where you have a bunch of people who on ALL sides SHOULD NOT have been there. "Peaceful protesters" my ass all over the country during that time you had people going out to "protests" with their actual motive to riot, pillage and steal. They were all there where they didn't belong, those people chose to go after and try and attack RH which I find beyond stupid considering he had a gun strapped to his chest and RH defended himself, and I sure as hell don't like the kid or his political views, I do believe he had every right to defend himself. (I mean what he's supposed to do? let them attack him? gtfo if you actually think so) This one should have never even gone to trial.

I feel bad that those that took some time off for it, got messed up here. There have been games I've done the same for in the past, but such things do happen. You know as awful as Yoshi P visibly felt to announce this delay it had to be important. This is this storylines grand finale he wants it to be as best it can be even further pressure with all the new fresh eyes on the game. FF14 is in the spot light right now in the MMO genre. That's some big pressure.

For me it works to my advantage as it gives me a couple more weeks to advance the MSQ, though as slow as I am I still may not make it I basically have a month to get through Stormblood and Shadowbringers now. But I don't intend to rush it, I will continue to stop and fish and such as I feel the desire too. Though even my fishing urges me to progress the MSQ at times because certain job abilities are locked away until I can get to them in each expansion which requires me to progress to do so. Like right now I have the quest that will reward Double Hook (FINALLY) which should allow me to finally be able to get those 16k and 20k ocean fishing achievements but its still locked via MSQ because the location is still locked to me to continue the quest. .

So I left WoW shortly after the release of Shadowlands. I wasn't feeling it leading up to it and after leveling my main to max, I just wasn't having fun. I milled about a bit playing other stuff but finally decided to try an MMO again, I decided to hop back into LotRO and also try FFXIV. I dusted off LotRO and turned out I had a copy of FF14 still not sure where I got it maybe a Humble Bundle?

I started playing both, this was in June. Being a huge Lord of the Rings fan I was actually leaning towards choosing LotRO after playing both, I just wasn't feeling FF14. I think partly as many WoW players may have trouble with ARR and I wasn't used to all the damn dialogue in my MMOs lol. But I was definitely also not feeling my job (Pug) and I was about to uninstall FF14 but as fate would have it.. I got some life threatening health complications and ended up in the ICU, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01sLOBjcWYw I was out of action nearly a month unable to play anything, while I was out of action a certain famous malding WoW streamer I loved also started playing FF14, and by pure chance ended up on the server I play on.

After finally getting back to the point I could sit in a chair without feeling like death. I wanted to play again, being the great exodus had occured and everyone was praising FF14 at this point (late july/early august) I decided to give 14 another shot. I tried the character I already had but still wasn't feeling it. I decided to start fresh try a new character and a new job. I decided to try and do as close as I could to what I loved doing in WoW. That was A. Hunter and B. Fishing. My WoW character Seabeard was super themed anything Sea or Fishing related and I spent many wasted but fun hours fishing for no reason lol.

So I decided to pay homage to a certain Legendary Fisherman and also my fun as a hunter.. I chose Archer/Bard. I started immediately getting "hooked". I was level 80 Fisher before my Bard was even out of his 30s lol. I also finally started getting into the storyline (MSQ) and found myself becoming more attached to this new world. I had a character I enjoyed a Theme I always enjoyed and the Bard class I really find fun. I've been playing nearly every day since. Despite all the time playing though I'm still only just entering Stormblood just this passed Sunday. Though I do stop to fish all the damn time for fun and profit and Triple Triad and Hildebrand. I just bought an apartment this last weekend as well! Blew all my money on it and some furnishings.

Please understand how vaccination works.

  • They help train your body to effectively fight the virus that invades you. This increases your resistance to the virus making it less likely to get it (not 100% but definitely much less of a chance as your body can often kill the invader before it takes hold in your body)
  • But if it does still take hold, your body still is able to fight it off better, lessening the symptoms and shortening the time it is in your body.
Result? Meaning you are less likely to be a carrier and if you still do you will carry it for a shorter time. Plus your symptoms won't be so bad so you won't be coughing, sneezing snotting as much. Meaning you won't be as effective for passing it around like the virus wants.

Now sir. If vast majority of a population all have this built up resistance to the virus. It creates a herd immunity effect and typically will drive said virus from the area. If everyone in the area is resistant to it and its not able to take hold very well in a immunized area it will die off in said area. This is the same way we were able to get rid of small pox in the world.

So genius it does INDEED help others other than just yourself. But its based on EVERYONE or near everyone becoming vaccinated for it to work. So fuck your freedoms. You, and I and every single person should be stabbed with the vaccine MANDATORY.

The price gouging is outrageous on those apps and I will never use them

Yeah it can be pretty bad. Both from the service and from the place you are ordering. Some aren't so bad. Like Burger King/McDonalds fairly fair with pricing.

But Wendys... oh Wendys charges way more for their food on the app. Something thats 2 bucks in person is like 3-4 bucks on Doordash. Which I don't understand, for the restaurant it doesn't cost them anything more to make something vs me there in person.

But then you have the services fees and taxes and they never make sense.. why is my 12 dollar order have 5 bucks in taxes? But for me I order enough I sign up for their pass so most of that is waived off. (fees and some taxes)

But then of course you have the driver tip. Which is based off sum of the order and distance to deliver. Expect on average 4-7 bucks tip they want you to add.

So with Wendys if your food was going to be like 12-13 bucks in person. It will be closer to 30 bucks on Doordash and thats with the pass. But burger king which keeps their food items more accurately priced with the pass its comes to like 17-18 bucks or so.

Panda Express.. ouch you are looking at near triple the cost. I don't order from them because of it.

Just the same as women without them. Just the same as makeup clothes and hairstyles. There are ones that flatter the woman and are beautiful and there are some butt ugly tatts that make someone look a bit trashy. Don't have an issue with tatts in general.

Good thing with tatts though, typically a good sign they are of legal age though.

But its only like 1 hour a day on the weekend. That is not enough time to play any extensive game. An MMO or RPG you wouldn't get anywhere.. hell you'd probably just spend that time fiddling in the auction house.

Thats only like what 1 full Warzone Verdasnk drop and 1 Rebirth Island drop and your done for the day.

Its too strict. If you are a kid and you've done your homework and your chores, I don't see the problem to play for a few hours.

At least its restricted to online games. These kids can pick up some old school single player or split screen offline games and play those... for now...

I expect it to arrive within 5-10 minutes of the estimated arrival time.

I've noticed on DoorDash that 'estimated arrival' will often change in real time. It seems (not for sure) as if the driver has the ability to add time to that arrival time. So are you talking about the initial arrival time given or whatever it on the fly changes to over time?

So when you order food from a delivery service (Grubhub, DoorDash, Ubereats) what is your expectations?

For me considering the fact that it comes out to like at least double the cost (if not triple in some cases) I do expect the driver to pick up the food and make their best attempt to deliver it as quickly as they can (at least making an effort to do so) if there is another order that is along the way I do not have much issue with them dropping it as long as the delay isn't but a couple minutes to do so. I do expect the food to arrive in a condition like it would be if I were to pick it up and drive home with it. I also always do the max % that it gives you the choice of for tip btw.

I just ordered from Five Guys Burger Fries and Shake. The driver picks up my order and proceeds to drive around with it for 45 minutes making other pickups and drops back and forth before dropping my food off. My shake completely melted , my fries dead cold and he tries to play it off that it was the restaurants fault which was a complete lie cause I watch the map for my orders I saw him pick it up(saw him at the location) and then I saw him tour the city with my food. Door Dash's automated site tried to give me back like 3 bucks of my order.. I called into DD directly and went into a polite Karen mode. Got them to refund me back about 75% of the order total. I definitely hope that part of that was refunded was the dudes tip. He does not deserve it.

Don't pick up the food until your ready to deliver it... we aren't paying 2-3 times the cost for you to take a tour with our food around the city.

they treat people who smoke/drink/do other drugs... they treat obese people who can't stop stuffing their face.

if you base treatment on people who make choices you don't agree with then lots of others shouldn't get treatment

For many of those issues though, there is an underlying issue, often things like depression cause people to drink, drugs or eat. In the case of smoking, drinking and drugs actual dependency forms and addiction starts. In the case of eating, eating is a tricky one since one has to eat and if you have a food disorder it is nearly as hard to break as a drug dependent addiction.

Not getting a vaccine is none of those, its sheer stupidity. So there is a key difference. Furthermore none of those are over filling our hospitals since most of those are slow killers. Slowly degrading the body over years.

They are not close to the same thing, Covid is a quicker killer and someone getting covid is also a danger to others, someone having diabetes and obesity does not.

So please stop trying to compare a Covid/Vaccine situation to other health issues in the country, this is a different situation entirely.

Yep thats right, if you refuse to get vaccinated and you get extremely ill because of covid, you should be denied ER/hospital care. I keep seeing on the news all these areas that their hospitals are getting overwhelmed so badly there are no more beds or enough staff to man beds and they are having to turn other people away that have other emergencies/problems because there is no room, because all these morons attend motorcycle conventions without vaccines or masks and then get covid.

Thats just crap. Some elderly person has a heart attack and can't get treatment or delayed treatment that could cost them their lives because of some dumb anti-vaxxer gets sick. No, let the anti-vaxxer deal with it themselves they can go shoot up animal dewormer or pray to their Trump god and let the heart attack victim get the bed.

Been trying to get absorbed into FF14, so far no success.

Had the base game bought back long ago, played the beta and at some point I think I got the base game off a humble bundle or something. With all the FF14 talk I dusted it off, upgraded and jumped in. been playing a couple weeks.

None of the classes feel good to me, I can't find any class that is real fun, actually distinct, sure the effects are all different in appearance but they all just become this overly messy light show. The few classes...excuse me jobs... I'm actually interested in are locked behind a level grind forcing you to play a class you don't want to get to them. I shouldn't have to play 50-60 levels of a class I don't like. This is not "fun". Classes are completely function locked, no different builds your job is set in stone what you are (tank healer dps). Basically trying to create your "fantasy" is much harder if not impossible in FF14 than it is in WoW. You are far more limited and pigeon holed in this game. The storylines seem ok, but they mostly do it in with the in game engine and they do to much slow movement and posing making these scenes take so twice as long as they need to. As someone that typically loves story in my games I find my self cursing at the screen to hurry the fuck up.

I also dusted off another MMO I had from ages past. Lord of the Rings Online (lotro) and been playing that and the visuals and animations are pretty dated (though still pretty in their own right) but besides that, its quite immersive. Its attention to detail with the lore to the books is staggering, so much content. You can live and breath Middle Earth. Lotro is kicking FF14s ass for me and I'm probably at this rate going to let my FF14 sub end and just go Lotro until either a new MMO comes out thats got that something special or Blizzard gets their shit together and fixes WoW. FF14 isn't turning out as good as all the recent hype would indicate.
