I've dated two single mothers in my lifetime. One when I was a year or two out of high school. She just had the kid maybe 3 months earlier. Rather than putting the child in a crib while she went to grab a shower she put it on the couch next to me. I was absolutely terrified the entire time because the kid started crawling towards the edge of the couch. I didn't wanna be her kid's babysitter. Mind you the most fun time with her was when she went to see her baby's daddy and they argued while I stood there like 'why the fuck am I here?!?!'.

The only other time I dated a woman with three kids, one of whom was young enough to innocently ask 'when daddy was coming back' with me in the room. Nothing like such a fun question coming up when you're trying to get serious with the kids mom.

Having experienced more than one ex gf (why they're ex's) trying to change me into somebody I'm not (dress this way, get a better car, etc, etc) it only builds resentment. As long as they're not openly expressing these sentiments loudly in public then why try and change them? But I guess we're supposed to all subscribe to the hive mind and 'right speak' nowadays and not have any independent thoughts.

Not saying their thoughts are right but they are theirs and they are allowed to have them.

That is the weirdest timing for an auto-save.
I had a similar issue with God Of War Ascension last gen, though I think it was my fault as I saved right before a spot where I kept dying upon respawn. Unfortunately I believe the auto save was in just about the same spot.

Thanks for the recommendation though it's good to know people actually enjoy it.
You're quite welcome. I definitely recommend leveling up a bunch though before trying to take on enemies above your level at first. I got absolutely trounced early on in the game by alligators. Now, outside of the apex sub bosses I decimate pretty much everything that comes at me.

The game world is fairly large and pretty detailed. I'm pretty sure they even included a defunct/shut down amusement park like Six Flags in New Orleans in the swamp/bayou area of the game. Not to mention there's shipwrecks you can swim around in (and find collectibles in).

If you ever played Jaws Unleashed on PS2 or XBox back in the day I'd definitely suggest trying out Maneater. You play as a bull shark and have to go around eating people and other animals. It's actually an RPG and leveling up and mutating your shark to get it armor for its body is definitely recommended.

Yeah I remember the basic heists how annoying it was, especially on the stealthier ones where people had no idea what they were doing.

I should reinstall that game though, I liked getting a bounty then hopping in a minisub and taunting the other players >_>
The new one (casino) is worse. We were supposed to be doing the stealth mode the one night I tried joining people and it took 5-10 tries just to get halfway through it. Then once we got close to our objective somebody quit (or got disconnected) mid heist.

Either way the last time I joined an open session I was shocked that it was fairly peaceful. I don't think I even saw people going after others with a bounty on their head. Then again every open session after that was a constant stream of 'X killed Y' notifications scrolling up my screen. lol

@Hexenherz
My buddies and I mostly enjoyed stuff like doing the glitches like launching vehicles into the stratosphere. Then Rockstar patched those all out. Then they made any spot to get in underneath the map (lotsa interiors and other stuff under there) instant death.

I mean I get why they did the latter, since a lot of people in open sessions would hide in walls and stuff and kill other players who went by there constantly.

The heists are a pain though if you don't have a good group to play them with. One failure when playing on hard and you have to start all over. It gets old...fast.

SEATTLE - One of two people hit by a man who drove his car onto a closed Seattle freeway and into a crowd protesting police brutality has died.
Summer Taylor, 24, of Seattle died Saturday evening at Harborview Medical Center, spokesperson Susan Gregg said.

Taylor and Diaz Love, 32, of Portland, Oregon, were hit by the car that barreled through a panicked crowd of protesters on Interstate 5 early Saturday morning, officials said.

Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove the car around vehicles that were blocking I-5 and sped into the crowd about 1:40 a.m., according to a police report released by the Washington State Patrol. Video taken at the scene by protesters showed people shouting Car! Car! before fleeing the roadway.

No. It is using statistics.

"The average White Non-Hispanic worker made $62,285.71. Their median income was $44,803.00.

What was the average income for workers who are Hispanic or Latino of any race?
The average Hispanic or Latino worker of any race made $38,484.99. They made a median income of $28,000.00.

What was the Black average income?
An average Black worker made $41,933.53. The Black median income was $31,000.00."

The median is lower class for African-Americans.

The networth disparity is like 110k median for whites to 18k for African-Americans.

We should be trying to help end that economic disparity period, across all races. I said it is ashame when stats show how bleak the economic system is in the African-American households across America that one who potentially has broken out of that might end up in jail for a long time due to a protest for Black Lives.
Statistics? I always chuckle at these sort of things because unless you're only polling the top 1-5% of wage earners in each job category the numbers definitely skew WAY lower than $30-40k for your average Joe Shmoe.

Now maybe if you're polling people working a cushy government job that number might be closer to true, but the average Walmart worker ain't clearing $40k a year unless they're doing a TON of overtime, which the Walton family likely wouldn't let them do in the first place.

About the only title that has held my interest this gen is Maneater. Theres no way Id pay $60 for a game physical or digital. I usually spend around $20. I see the secondhand market for digital editions to mess with sales and make them unfeasible.
Most of my game collection the past 3-4 gens has been made up of $10 or UNDER clearance titles bought from places like Circuit City, Toys R Us, Target, Kmart, Sears and even Walmart more recently. I can count on one hand the number of games I've spent $20 or over on in that time too. Unless I have cheap credit/gift cards at a place like Gamestop that cost me nowhere near that amount to amass then I just stalk the clearance cycles and buy at the cheapest price (if possible).
I get all my books from the library, pretty much. Some counties have crap digital libraries but Ive been lucky. Also some libraries, like Philadelphia, will let you pay $50 to get a membership if youre not in county...I did mine for free being out of county and Im not sure how, it just sort of happened.
I think the only things I've used our local libraries for is for internet access (when I didn't have it at home), printing up stuff like shipping labels (rather than buying a printer AND ink for 1-3 things a year) and the bathroom when I was out for the day and happened to pass by there.

Although I have looked at their used/for sale shelf before there hasn't really been anything of interest to me on there and even then I think the prices were a bit ridiculous for the items.

@blu
Don't get me wrong. I'd go all digital quickly if the prices for such content weren't abysmal. If they sold e-books for $1-3 apiece and digital games were $10-15 MAX I'd consider it.

But no fucking way am I paying $60 for a game when I have zero resale rights to those 1's and 0's. If I "own" it digitally, then that means I should be able to transfer it via a secondhand market to somebody else when I'm done. At least with a physical edition I can trade/sell it somewhere to get something back to offset my cost to buy another.

Yeah hoarding physical media is wasteful but will continue for a subset of the population, as it fills some emptiness otherwise unfulfilled
As Hollywood has proven during this pandemic they are more than willing to forgo releasing films in theaters as long as people are willing to pay obscene prices ($20 for 2 days at most) for mere rentals. I, however, am NOT content to pay $20 to merely rent media for a couple of days. Maybe when tangible media rental outlets like Blockbuster and Hollywood Video existed because they'd run sales and deals all the time.

Video game publishers and the platform holders have already proven that any all digital future will be an MSRP-a-thon. Maybe if those platform holders like Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft had major competition like on PC you'd see much lower sale prices more often. But like the movie studios they know that once people go full digital they have you by the proverbial and literal short hairs with nowhere else legitimate to get their content from. So why would they give you a decent price when they know it's buy from them or go without?

Both Sterling and Hogan said what they said to another person. No one's digging into their brains to pull things out. These words were said. Out loud.

And the only "misfortune" that befell them was the other person had the foresight to record the conversation.
Tell me though what was the end result? At the end of the day, Hogan sued Gawker and that resulted in a judgment that effectively put them out of business. That was a win for free speech and privacy.

Indeed. I definitely prefer a physical copy of my media because with digital the only thing you have is the hope that the service "your" media is on will exist when you want to access them.

Like for example I just received an email the other day from VUDU stating they are now part of Fandango and that 'my media collection is safe'. For how long though? That's why I'm glad I have the physical discs for each of those titles still in my collection since the future is uncertain. What's to stop a company that acquires X or Y site from CHARGING people to access those digital files later on claiming they have to because of the costs associated with maintaining the servers they're on? That's charging people twice for the media they already 'own'.

With physical as long as you have a player to play them on you have access to them.

I know how to find deals at brick and mortar stores. So Amazon only gets my money when it's something at a decent price from their Warehouse Deals portion of the site, like when I got a 160 GB PS3 slim for $80 a few years ago in mint condition or when their trade-in program was actually decent and gave me tons of credit for stuff I paid pennies for (literally, pennied game guides from Best Buy and Gamestop).

The only other time I didn't mind dealing with them was when I sold on there as a third party seller for a while. Stuff that I paid $15 for (Black Ops Prestige Editions, World Of Warcraft CE's) sold for $200+ apiece because of how buyers on there just buy buy buy regardless of if these items have been clearanced somewhere (where I got them) for way cheaper.

Problem there is after going inactive for about six months they purged my seller account due to inactivity, thus negating my grandfathered account that allowed me to disburse the money I was paid after their fees at any time. Now if I reapplied for a new selling account I'd be on a minimum two week schedule like a regular job, which is a crock considering Amazon doesn't wait to take their fees out of your money.

Most state are 'at will' for employment, meaning you can quit or the company can fire you. The only time(s) that's prohibited is if it were for one of the protected reasons (race, age, etc). If I didn't like a place, be it the working conditions or the pay then you know what I did? I left.

Not to mention the fact that if the average American consumer were smarter and less lazy they would use whatever free time they have to deal hunt like some of us do to get the best prices WITHOUT supporting Amazon.

Those two factors alone are why the company is as large (and growing) as it is.

Amazon only gets my money when I can use a free Prime trial and they're practically giving away the item(s) I'm buying. Otherwise I stick to brick and mortar retailers because they at least know what an actual clearance price is. Even Walmart, that once thought .04 off MSRP was a 'clearance' price, now drops stuff to INSANE prices at times.

Meanwhile your average consumer is happy to buy stuff that Amazon merely price matches other retailers prices on because they don't have to un-wedge their butts out of their La-Z-Boys to go get it.
