Yeah but he may deal you out inferior care than he would to a white or Asian or Hispanic person with similar demographics to you (age, height, weight, health problems, etc) simply because you're black

Just like the government sanction terrorists we call cops, use videos of them killing unarmed black men to send fear to black communities, so too we use these videos of these racist to send a clear message that their overt racism has no place here anymore in America.

Anyway, I think an assumption that all of society has suddenly become completely unforgiving is an exaggeration. Forgiveness is still a thing that a lot of people are capable of. Furthermore, the less known you are, the easier it will be to find new opportunities in an environment that hasn't heard of you or pre-judged you.

If anything, there are some of us who forgive too easily simply so we can go about our lives, but that's a different argument.

I believe society to be cruel based on life experience and how Ive been treated for my own differences. It affects my opinion, which is probably why we differ. Im not trying to be rude or difficult and apologize if you are taking it that way.

I think it's reasonable to be fired for racist things you do while employed by your employer and depending on how egregious it is things that preceded it.

Generally, companies should not be held responsible for what their employees are up to outside of work. There are exceptions, like public faces: CEO, representatives, etc. If you're being racist at work, that's termination.

My work recently gave us a social media policy that said don't be racist or like racist or you'll be fired.

Look man, being asked to ackowledge that you are less likely to be murdered by the cops for the crime of walking or driving isn't racism. Also, not speaking out against racism does in fact make you tacitly complicit in it. When there are two sides and one is fucking the other over, not involving yourself benefits the side doing the fucking, not the one getting fucked.

Imagine you are walking down the street and you see a person being robbed, by not involving yourself you are helping the robber because he is being allowed to continue robbing his victim. Neutrality is not a viable stance and it's about fucking time people realized that.

As long as said doctor isn't treating his patients badly and is being a professional while on the job yes. We've all worked with or been in the vicinity of someone who's views contradict our own. We may not have even known it.

Its their right to hold down a job or career as long as they aren't hurting anyone or breaking the law and are doing their job efficiently. Its nobody's right to treat others badly and oppress or harass. That's crossing a line.

That is complete and utter bullshit if you ask me. Unless you have to use social media for work then it shouldn't matter what is on your private accounts. Sadly companies keep getting away with things like this because employees put up with it just to have a job.

It's like when I worked for UPS in an accounts receivable office of theirs. They dictated what level of facial hair you could have. Fuck that. As long as I don't have a ZZ Top styled beard that's dirty and unkempt then it shouldn't be an issue.

How is it even questionable? If you are a racist and a known racist, you won't work well with your coworkers. You will also have a terrible bias that effects your decision making. Plus... No company wants to be associated with a racist. You are terminated and probably on the "don't rehire" list.

I think for a while people thought of twitter and other social media is "this is what I'm thinking at the moment, if you don't like it or are not interested, please disregard it and move on, it is not any sort of public declaration, just me writing shit online"

Can't say I relate to the second part though. Because I'm in the Army and my general life is dictated (as I want it to be)

A dress code and a code of conduct I can understand. But dictating to somebody what they can do with their own body is where it goes across the line to me. As it is I was in a cubicle in a corner of the one office and aside from during breaks like lunchtime nobody ever saw me.
