I do but I usually play NES games on Wii these days.

Same, I just keep my old games for back ups... and collectors items. Also, I didn't know this, but if you have a NES classic, you can have it modded to have every NES game ever made put on it.

..... and do the games work? I do, and yes, all of the games work.

For those of you who don't know, Brasso is the way to go for cleaning games. Also, they make screwdrivers for you to open them. Just use a microfiber towel to put the Brasso on, and only do it once, that's all you really need. Don't blow into the games though, because the moisture from your mouth will corrode the brass pins. Just something I learned.

Eh, union reps won't do anything. I saw that they can't be in a meeting with a principal unless the principal consents.

I think I'm going to file an EEOC grievance after I get my last check though. Also, I'd like to contact the state education agency. Even if they don't do anything, which they probably won't, I want to put my 2 cents in.

At the last school I was at, the principal was friends with one of the teachers... always hanging out together, drinking together... probably hooking up together. Her friend got mad when I said I would rather not teach 8th grade because she didnt want to do it... after that I was put on a "growth plan" and written up over and over again until our school went to remote learning. I tried explaining that to the super intendent, HR, and the school board and was told that if I didn't resign, I would be terminated.

... and that's not the first time something like that has happened... so yeah, fuck teaching. hopefully the government is better.

I addressed that in the last sentence of my post. Every school/district is different. The school Im in right now is VERY political. I got screwed out of a head coaching position solely because our local board member wanted to do favors for his buddies that have sons looking for their first gig, plus the principal wants to do favors for her friends as well. Unfortunately Im stuck because no one is retiring anywhere. I have an offer to coach in another district, but no teaching spots are available.

Honestly, I've been to 4 different schools, and the only one that was worth a fuck was the first one, and even that one was political.

Just so tired of all that. I know there are politics everywhere, but teaching is one of the worst, if not the worst job for that.

Were you good at your job? People who hate teaching are usually not good at building relationships with students. Theres so much that goes into being able to do the job well and get enjoyment out of it than just showing up and relaying information. Problems with an administration is usually fixed with a simple switch to a new school or district.

Lol everyone thinks it's the kids, but no, that's the easy part. Just sick of the fucking politics. If someone you work with doesn't like you or the way you're teaching, you can lose your job over that.

Wrote this down a few nights ago:

I was at the last grocery store I worked at and it looked a little different, almost like a wood shop. These people showed up and attacked several of us, in the store, so we fought back. The only way we got them to stop was by stabbing them with knives. Afterwards, we left, and went outside, but it looked like a big backyard with a wooden fence. A couple of the workers and I ran across the yard and over the fence. After the other two workers that were with me jumped it, the half that as next to me, on the left, fell over, so I climbed over it. After I did, a big group of guys dressed like mimes in red and black striped shirts came running towards the fence to climb over it. As they passed me they looked at me, and I pretended to ignore them and walked towards the car. As soon as I got to car, they started shooting off machine guns in the store I tried to get my keys to open the car door, but it took at minute to find them. Then I woke up.

Unless you've been on Gamefaqs all day every day since creating the account, you're probably just grossly exaggerating how much time you wasted

Well my old accounts are gone, but it's true, I would come home from school and either get on games or get online... til I was about 19 then closed it. Then made another one a year or two later. But have been on and off ever since.

It just hit me that I had been on here so long. I think about the way things were back then, my dogs were still alive, parents still married, hadn't met my wife or joined the military yet, my biggest worry was learning the new combos in Capcom vs SNK, Street Fighter 3, and Marvel vs Capcom 2... didn't have to work yet.

And now it just feel like it was so long ago, and I guess 20 years is a long time. But I think about all the things I could have done differently. As much as I love my wife, this girl I was in love with lived right across the street from me and I had so many opportunities to talk to her and instead got on here or played my video games... had lots of opportunities to hang out with the family, and now we are all separated and I wasted that time on here or on video games... could have been hanging out with my two dogs that were alive then, but wasted it on here or on video games.... and for what, people I will never meet, why did I do that?

My wife told me there is more to life than these sites and it's true. I feel like such a fool for wasting all of that time, time I can't get back.

But what's done is done and there's nothing I can do about it now.
