High school football just depends on the school. The poor, ghetto schools don't really care because they have real problems to worry about. The rich preppy ones and the cow town ones make a big deal about it though. Some of the teams are pretty good I guess. Idk, I was in the band.

Because its like the real life situation millennials face. Growing up in the 90's we were told we could be anything. We had heroes like the ninja turtles and power rangers that seemed invincible.

Star wars was like that too. The end of ROTJ ended with Han Solo getting the girl, the empire being defeated and Luke Skywalker learning to be a Jedi giving hope that a new generation would be trained.

The new trilogy reveals that this the future wasn't that bright. The empire is back, Han Solo's relationship didn't work out and luke skywalker is now a broken old man. I find this like my life situation with a near minimum wage job, global warming and the disaster of a president we have.

Instead of some happy future, the new Star Wars shows the character's ideals being crushed beneath the weight of their reality. The promise we were given to us as children was a lie.

This doesn't mean there isn't hope it means that we need to pull together to defeat the evil in front of us. Now that we know the truth we can fight it and have a happy ending.

This isn't the star wars your parents had. It might hit on nostalgia a little bit, but in the end it's moving into the future with bold new ideas, heroic new characters and a satisfying end for old ones.

This is the star wars I like, and it's much better than the Jedi superman bullcrap they did in the EU.

Interesting take on it, but the problem with that is that it wasn't a movie that was taken seriously. There were lots of not funny jokes (the Luke / Rey lighstaber scene, the scene where the big AT AT droids shoot at look and he dusts himself off, and the part where Rey tells Kylo to put a shirt on), and things that were never explained like why Rey can use the force with no training, why she and Kylo joined forces halfway through the movie, who Snoke was, etc. Also, a satisfying end? How do you figure that? Han was killed by his son, Leia was written out of the story, and Luke disappeared into thin air, again with no explanation. Also what is the evil that is infront of us? Snoke is gone, Kylo has been defeated, where is the main villain? That was never explained.

Episode 3 wasn't a fairy tale and it was awesome. This one left a lot to be desired.

A few ideas I had:

Tommy - Just got out of the army and is looking at becoming a fireman or cop. He is bald again and has a blue shirt with either camo pants or shorts. Maybe he has a tattoo of Spike on his arm.

Chuckie - Just finished college and is going to be some kind of scientist, maybe geology or archaeology. He looks like he did in the all growed up episode.

Phil - Either a garbage man or construction worker. Could picture him overalls and a hat on backwards.

Lil - She's a single mom and has twins of her own. She does some sort of tom boy job like working on cars. Could picture her in overalls too with a bandanna around her head or in mechanic clothes.

Susie - She got her Ph. D and is a psychologist. Either that or she is in the military and gone.

Angelica - Business woman just like her mom and dad.

Baby Dil - Off at college trying to figure his life out.

Kimmy - She got married to a rich white guy and moved away.

The adults would still be the same, with the only difference being Stu is retired now.

We are over ourselves. We aren't the ones that have to have the latest and greatest car, the latest and greatest clothes, the latest and greatest hair style, the most money, etc. Some people just want a simple life and don't want to be bothered with unimportant bull shit and make everything about competition.

Btw HHH is a loser.

I mean....i dont even know where it could go storywise. In the OT there was a buildup to the final Darth Vader confrontation in Jedi from the very beginning. Part 9 feels like they dont even have a plan for where to go with it. They killed Snoke so there goes your supreme villian. And Kylo, pffft, i lost all interest in him in the last movie.

Theres gotta be an oscar fucking worthy screenplay to save this new trilogy or it'll just be a complete waste of time.

Exactly. None of the new characters are really good enough to build the story around. Rey is over powered without explanation, Finn is just the comic relief, Poe is boring, Kylo was ruined as soon as he got his ass beat by Rey, Rose is an annoying goody two shoes, Snoke sucked from the beginning and is dead now anyway, and there's no new aliens or robots that were introduced in the last movie and hardly any from episode 7.

The only old characters left are R2 and C3P0, and Chewy. It would be cool to see a movie about those three, like have them escape from the bad guys to get to the good guys, maybe with help from Lando. But it won't happen.

Also, episode 8 didn't really have a focus. It was just a bunch of random events and twists that didnt make sense and were never explained. Even when we find out that Rey is Luke, Han, or the Emperor's daughter, it still won't really make a difference. She wont have any tie to them besides her name because no relationship between her and any of them was ever established. We found out Luke was Vader's kid, but then there was Episode 6 and Episode 3 that really built that up. But even then, you had a hero and a villain. Luke and Rey are both heroes, Vader and the Emperor are long gone, and Kylo already got his as whooped by her. Episode 8 would have been a great chance to build a relationship between her and Luke where he trains her and becomes her mentor. But instead they decided to make Luke into a joke and just make her over powered without explanation.

I would say either build it around the droids, or just hire the Wayans brothers and make it into a comedy. Maybe throw Eddie Murphy in too.

Just depends what you prefer. Snakes can be defanged, but I don't think I would want a snake slithering around my apartment.

I think the thing about pitbulls being mean is a myth. Dogs will act how you treat them. I've met mean Chihuahuas and nice pit bulls.

Not sure what you are calling a shit hole. But if you are referring to the state everyone and their mother is moving to in the south, I will tell you that King of the Hill is only accurate in the small towns. But it's not like it used to be. Lots of Yankees from up north are moving there so it should be more like home if you ever decide to move down. I'd say about 50 / 50 so you don't have to worry.

Houston born and raised here

went to UT for school

worked in DFW, Houston, Austin, san Antonio

texas sucks lol.

I moved to LA/SoCal 1.5 years ago and it's amazing here compared to Houston/dallas/SA. Austin's the only city I really liked but when I went to school there, that's about the time it started to trend even more. it's changed so much since then.

if you plan on living in a nice house in nice neighborhood, it's still crazy expensive. I grew up in a nice part of Houston... my parents pay a shit ton of property tax and city taxes.

but here in socal, I bought a nice house. it's expensive cause of state income taxes and gas taxes, but the property taxes aren't that bad...

there are pros and cons to all this... just depends on tastes really. I feel like cost-wise, it's starting to even out. you do have more land to work with in texas if you drive further away from the city.

For now there is more land, but it is disappearing quickly. I don't see why they don't start building more shit in west texas or on the way to it. It's a ghost town from Kerrville to El Paso.

As someone who was born and raised here, I have noticed a big change in the amount of people moving here recently, mainly to the Austin and San Antonio areas. And after going to some of the other states like California and New York, and Nebraska, just as a few examples, I can see why people would move here. We are #1. Best food, best stuff to do, awesome scenery, great economy, so it's good that people finally acknowledge us as the best state in the nation :-). However, I have also noticed that a lot of people from other states aren't really aware of how things are here so I wanted to make this topic to mention a few things you should know before moving here.

1) Traffic: It's horrible. Austin used to have a time of day when the traffic would die down, but now it is pretty much non stop Friday, Saturday, Sunday. You might have luck during the week, but man, it's bad. San Antonio is catching up, but not quite there yet. Dallas and Houston have horrible traffic during rush hour, but during other times it's not as bad as Austin because those cities are more evolved and better equipped to handle a bigger population.

2) Heat: Hehe, we don't have seasons here, at least not in the parts everyone is moving to. The only seasons we have are Summer and Hurricane / Tornado season. If you want a winter, you have to move to Dallas or somewhere higher up. It's not uncommon to have heat in the 90's and 100's. That's a regular thing for us.

3) Jobs: Depending on what you do, you might have a hard time finding something because it's getting so competitive. Oil field, construction, medical fields should be okay, construction is non stop now. But if you think you are just going to move to Austin or San Antonio and get a degree holding job outside the medical field easily, well then you are in for a surprise. Not saying it can't happen, but it is very competitive. Especially Austin. Lots of California people are there and that state is all about competition. Just be prepared.

4) Costs are going up: Yeah you can get a house cheaper here than California, but that's because they jacked their prices up by voting for liberal laws. Texas isn't there yet, but it may be in the future. Austin is one of the highest taxed places in the nation and San Antonio is getting more and more liberal.... which means higher taxes. Costs of rent are rapidly rising. For example, when we lived in San Antonio, 4 years ago, our rent was $800 for a one bedroom. Now it is over $1000. You aren't going to find any apartments here under $800 unless they are ghetto.

5) Give us respect: This is very important for a lot of people from out of state to know: We are very proud of our state and respect is important here. It's not like New York or Las Vegas where you can just be rude for no reason to whoever you want to and say whatever you want and not have consequences. We take that shit seriously here. If you are going to come here and bash us be ready to have shit talked to you. We are a respectful state, but we want it in return too. Courteousy is important here.

6) Which brings me to my last point: A lot of people from Texas are really pissed off about you moving here. Not so much in the larger cities, but definitely in the smaller cities around the larger ones. Our small towns that have always been the same -- everyone knows everyone, really quiet, nice and friendly atmosphere, away from the city and nothing like it -- and now they are being destroyed by all of these people from out of state who want to move here and be rude to us and over crowd our towns and sell their expensive houses so that they can come here and save money or open a business to try and make a buck. And the people in these towns know this and they don't like you or want you there. So if you are planning on moving to one of those towns that is conveniently one hour away from your new job, might not want to mention where you are from or all of the money you are making. They don't take kindly to that.

Just my two cents
