Not sure if anyone else here is still watching this, but six episodes in and Katana Maidens is still amazing. I'm going to try and resist the urge to shill for it until it ends (only 1/4 of the way through, still plenty of time for it to screw up somehow) but after the last episode I couldn't resist the urge to post something. I could go on and on about how specific elements seem to have been designed to appeal to me specifically but that would be hard to do without spoilers so I'll just say this. Every time I became worried that it might stumble into a common storytelling pitfall, Katana Maidens has instead managed to pleasantly surprise me.

I've been semi-actively seeking out other anime that might be similar to it (Girls und Panzer, Strike Witches) and, while they're still good, so far Katana Maidens is blowing them all out of the water.

I don't see what's wrong with posting your opinion about an anime once it comes up in discussion. That seemed like a natural time to mention it, if anything. It's not like LtM said anything trollish or tried to shut down the conversation either. Calling him out derailed the Olympics discussion way more than leaving it alone would have.

I'm no grammar whiz but my understanding is that semi-colons only work if the clauses it connects could both stand on their own as a grammatically correct sentence even if the other one was removed. The second one there reads awkwardly as a sentence so I don't think a semi-colon works. A colon would be fine though since the first clause introduces (and is explained by) the second.

I started watching Sound! Euphonium. I don't know the first thing about playing an instrument but, much like Your Lie in April, they're handling the musical aspect in ways that even a tone-deaf moron like me can appreciate. The characters are all really good too. Special mention has to go to Asuka for being the absolute best. She pranked Hazuki in episode one and has been consistently awesome ever since.

Four episodes in and I'm still waiting for FranXX to explain a single thing about the setting or the conflict (surely the sex references won't be the only focus of the story, right?). I feel like they'll finally get there next episode but if they don't I might drop the anime just so I'm not in here being negative about it every week. It's hard for anything these characters are doing to have weight when I don't know what the enemy they're fighting even is.
