I've finished all of Strike Witches now, including the movie. Overall the anime was fine but there's no single aspect I can point to that I'd consider amazing. It was just fun (if fairly basic) characters fighting an enemy that was never really expanded upon.

A few comments about the movie (which had a decent mix of awesome and awful) Yoshika, having lost her magic, still managed to take down a Neuroi tower by ramming it with her jeep. That was badass! Then they ruined everything by just randomly giving her magic back, ugh. I much prefer it when characters get around their limitations in neat ways (the jeep move) rather than through deus ex machina (magic returning for no reason).

I'll start the spinoff Brave Witches at some point (the same person who voiced Yuki Yuna voices a character in it!) so I hope that's good too.

Im baffled he thinks Index is the best. Shes so pointless and terrible most of the time

I'll admit that her presence in the plot took a dive in the middle of the season but she was still fun even then. The freeloading and the biting legitimately is great comedy! That said, my favorite part with her was near the end of the season when the earth golem found her and she didn't even panic. Index just calmly used her knowledge to mess with it while throwing safety pins to screw up its regeneration. She didn't win but that was still damn badass.

It took awhile because I watched it sporadically, but I finally finished season one of A Certain Magical Index. A few people took issue with me liking Index back when I first started, so I'm happy to report back that she remained fun and awesome throughout! Easily my favorite character from the show.

Also, I'm enjoying the anime a lot overall. Toma's power forces him to approach situations in unique ways, which I think has been consistently neat. The world-building is solid too, I'm excited to start the next season.
