And when the thing you're calling a "service" is described as a "needle stick," and later clarified as a vial of blood that takes 5 minutes to collect, the decision to call that a service suggests a certain degree of trypanophobia. Especially where "no amount of money would be worth it" is listed as the first option.

In practice, the closest real-world parallel to the situation you're describing is a blood donation, which requires about 1-1.5 hours in the clinic on top of travel time and costs, plus you lose enough blood to actually impair you for the rest of the day. Even then, though, it's that 1-2 hours of time commitment that I might say is worth compensating, not the fact that you get poked (twice!).

I'll rephrase the question for TC.

There is a blood drive going on in the parking lot of the place you work at. Your employer is a big advocate of blood donations. He is willing to incentivize his employees to donate with extra hours added to their paycheck. How many bonus hours added to your paycheck would it take for you to donate your blood?

It's operating under a poor understanding of that. Why would I not accept the maximum amount they would pay (implied to be 2+ workdays) when it's on the table? There's no reason expressed why you should choose a lower amount.

If you meant how much we consider it worth, then you need to clear up what other potential costs I would be taking on by agreeing. I could think it's only worth 5 minutes pay, but if I have to travel so far that I couldn't work that day then I'd require a full day's pay.

Fuck, its not at all uncommon for them to beg outside a building next to a sign hanging in the window or posted on the lawn. Weve got more jobs than people here,and a lot of places are so desperate they will literally hire anyone.

They make more money off of suckers and get more free shit when they stand on the corner than they would working, so why would they work? Its a perfect example of why socialism is dumb, and how you are only enabling self destrucive behavior by giving these fuckers free shit for no work.

And then not have anything to arrest them for if a subsequent investigation turns up supplies that have no use outside of committing a massacre? The aim is to arrest would-be mass murderers before they commit mass murder, and that's not going to happen unless you make some of the things that go into planning a massacre illegal.

Because when that child googles "how to make a bump stock," they end up on a watch list, making it easier to stop them before they do anything with said stock.

I think at this point don't separate sports between men and women period. Just mix them and let the better athletes of the two bubble to the top.

Once I hit retirement, I still feel I will be young enough to do the other cool stuff like travel, family, bucket list, etc. Plus it will be easier to do it with more then just a handful of vacation days to fit it in.

are you saying you want to make the money by playing music? if so, are you practicing playing every day? are you studying music theory to help you become a better song writer?

So I already am a copyright holder for a band named Luminous. I plan to be a singer/dancer combo. I already have all the lyrics for the first album written down. Now I need to get in touch with a graphic artist, find a recording studio, and lastly find band mates.

Right now my goals are kind of complicated, but I will say that these are based on the fact that my office is closing and I am getting laid off in the near future (I know my end date, just can't legally divulge it on the internet):

1) Find a job that starts right after my end date, allowing my to collect my full severance and a full paycheck (I.E. Double Dip). This lets me pay off about of 1/3 of my remaining mortgage with the extra paycheck I will be getting, putting me about 5 - 7 years away from paying off my house (which will lead into semi-retirement where I can just take contract work when I need some money to live off of).

2) Barring #1, using my severance as leverage, find a job that is a promotion or decent improvement salary-wise that starts before my severance, but in the long term allows more career growth. This might set those "early retirement" plans back a few years, but also puts me in a better position when I am looking for contract work to get more interesting (and in tern more lucrative) jobs.

3) Assuming #1 or #2 don't work out (highly unlikely given the job market in my city), find a job before my severance runs out and I have to start dipping into savings.

TL/DR version: Use my lay-off as a way to make a ton of money I wouldn't have otherwise if my job was keeping me around.

I started reading more, writing more, went back to school (not sure the major yet, possibly English, but at least something to do with writing)
