Raise min wage from 10-15$ (happened or is happening many many places) and you have everyone who made 11-15$ suddenly be making min wage, and everything costs more (so they effectively are making less than before). Raise wages (non-salaried) universally by 20%, and at least everyone would get an increase that would help deal with the cost of living increase that goes along with it. Honestly though boosting wages just seems to hurt the poor the most. IT hurts anyone makign near min wage a ton. It hurts anyone on disability/social security etc a ton, and it doesn't seem to really help ANYONE, even those who were making exactly min wage before (and honestly even pure min wage jobs get raises over time, so if you worked one awhile you were making more than min wage...but now...if it goes up, your back at min wage again. STOP RAISING MIN WAGE. Start providing housing/rentals that are affordable instead. Increase deductions as well, and reduce taxes on the poor (up to a real cost of living). Seriously, people who are trying to get min wage raised need to look and see what has happening in areas where it jumped significantly in a few years. IT's WAY harder for a person in many of those places to live than it was before.
